Miller Earns Spot on NFLN’s Top 100

May 24th, 2012 - 10:33am by Stuart Zaas

NFL Network continued its countdown of the top 100 players in 2012 last night with another Bronco making the list.

Von Miller came in at No. 52, joining RB Willis McGahee (98) and Elvis Dumervil (68) as Broncos players that have made the list thus far.

“The type of guy that I am, all that stuff doesn’t matter to me,” Miller said on the show. “It’s all about winning games and the ultimate goal of winning that Lombardi Trophy.”

Miller earned All-Pro, Pro Bowl and Associated Press Defensive Rookie of the Year honors after finishing his first NFL season with 11.5 sacks. He is one of four rookies to make the list.

Tackle Ryan Clady, who has seen plenty of Miller’s ability from practicing against him, joined the show sporting similar frames to Miller’s signature look.

“He’s just such a fast player, it’s tough sometimes to get your hands on him,” Clady said. “He’ll probably be in the Pro Bowl for the rest of his career. He’s one of those types of guys.”

Cornerback Champ Bailey also talked about Miller’s unique skill-set on the show.

“Just that rare athleticism that he has, I think his ability to bend his body and his speed and combination of power and strength – you usually don’t see that in young guys right away,” Bailey said. “It’s just rare to have that kind of speed for his size.”

    What say you Turtle?

Oh, heard that – you said, “BRONCOS!!!”

  3. OrangeTsunami says:

Anyway, sorry to bring up an old topic, I just heard it hashed over and over on the radio as I was stuck in traffic both ways on a rainy day out here.. And for the record, I’m not anti-Tebow, just pro Broncos. I wish Tebow well, but I hate the Jets.. Quite the conundrum…. Lol

  4. DaddyBronc says:

OT – maybe after Rexxy gets fired – Tebow will be able to fix the Jets. LOL

I can’t help you with the uniforms – even Tebow can’t fix that.

Feeling your conundrum here in S. CA,

  5. DaddyBronc says:

It’s good to talk Tebow with the anti-s not around…..they get so pissy about the whole subject.

The neck OTOH…haha…Manning’s neck is so long…now I laugh every time I see him. I’m really glad my bad attitude isn’t contagious here on the blog.

  6. DaddyBronc says:

Dinner time – be out for a while.

  7. Bronco_Turtle says:

Our only ‘hope’ is that a ‘Neck’romancer can resurrect PM to his former self…

  8. OrangeTsunami says:

So BT, are you a ‘half empty’ guy?

  9. Orange_Crusher says:

DB, unfortunately I think you might be one of his distractions and maybe he needs to get married and concentrate on family and football instead of being a Jockey model preacher…jomho

OH my goodness I seriously just heard a TT Denver Mattress commercial about donating to the TT foundation on my radio…. They will be having a giant mattress sale at our mall this weekend for the TT foundation… for real, not kidding….

  10. Orange_Crusher says:

I bought a couch from the Denver Mattress company a couple years ago and it fell apart… It was a peice of crap…. no kidding…

  11. Bronco_Turtle says:

OT… I’m the 50% capacity guy… it is simply what it is man! Where you watching the next Hockey game? you go the bar or stay home?

  12. Orange_Crusher says:

My glass overfloweth with joy and everlasting life……

    What else is there…..?

  13. strandoftds82 says:

Turtle, that was sick but funny, neck-romancer. Blah-haha-haha!!

  14. OrangeTsunami says:

Haven’t decided yet.. The big game is tomorrow, hoping for a game 7, as the intensity level will be out of control. I think I’m gonna scrap this whole ‘not talking smack’ routine, and go on record as saying the Blue Shirts are gonna win, and force a game seven! :D

  15. Orange_Crusher says:

I agree, neck-romancer was a good one BT! Glad you could join the fun friend!

    ILMSDB!

  20. Bronco_Turtle says:

OT… I would love to go to that game live!!! I’ve never been to a Playoff Hockey game!!! I can imagine because of the close proximity of the two franchises that those games get quite intense!!!

  21. strandoftds82 says:

Its a good day Turtle. Just have some fun with ya bro. LOL

  22. strandoftds82 says:

Its a miracle, the Rockies finally won a game last night. OMG!!

  23. Bronco_Turtle says:

  24. Bronco_Turtle says:

  26. Orange_Crusher says:

Man you guys are in for a real treat with Ronnie Hillman!

This dude is going to shock the NFL!!!

This dude had rushes of 98 in 2010 and then 99 yards in 2011 – Hillman can go the distance!!!

He had 38 TD in two years with SDSU….. Hillman is a Scoring Machine!!!!!

he also caught 33 passes for 338 yards with a longest of 71yds and was rarely used as a receiver in his first year…

He is only 20 years old with an upside taller than the Tetons!!!!!!!

I LOVE ME SOME RONNIE MOUNTAINMAN!!!!!!

    ILMSRM!!!!!!!

  27. OrangeTsunami says:

Yep. It can get pretty heated, but not that bad IMO. I’ve seen way worse. The Nets and Devils used to play in an arena at the Meadowlands, just outside of the city, in NJ, where the Jets and Giants play, but both moved to a new arena in Newark, the car jacking capital of the world. Lol. I think Newark has gotten better recently, and may not longer hold that lovely distinction anymore. Of course, politics were involved in the move, and now, as I’m sure you are aware, the Nets are moving to Brooklyn. The other NY hockey team, the Islanders, who play out on long island, desperately need a new arena, and the taxes are already so high out there, they may not get the bill passed. I don’t follow it that closely, but I’ve heard they may have to move to Brooklyn as well…. Well, that’s my NY sports lesson for the evening… ;)

  28. strandoftds82 says:

Yes, its true. They are struggling bad.

  29. Tide Bronco says:

Hi guys! OC, you outdid yourself this time. That’s one of the funniest things I’ve ever read on here!

Great to see Miller almost in the middle of the pack, but I thought he should have been lower than the 50 mark.

Turtle, did you the email I sent this morning? Thanks for listening, if you did.

Well, I’m “neck” deep in embroidery machine problems with tons of graduation gifts needing to get monogrammed, so let me get back to working on it.

    Catch you guys later.

  30. OrangeTsunami says:

I would like to move back the Denver some day. Was always the original plan..

  31. OrangeTsunami says:

Can’t believe u guys got snow, that wild!

  32. OrangeTsunami says:

    Snow in Wyoming I mean…

Tide, what gives?? You holding out on the rest of us?? Lol

  33. louisianabroncofan says:

  34. OrangeTsunami says:

    *move back to Denver

Lol. Sorry, multi-tasking… Lbf, how far are you from New Oreans? I’ve been to Mardi Gras twice! Good times! :D

  35. OrangeTsunami says:

    Dammit!

    New Orleans…

  36. strandoftds82 says:

    Hello LBF!

  37. Tide Bronco says:

OT, I’m so swamped with stuff right now. My garden is making stuff already, so I’m having to work that. Then having a broken machine isn’t helping. Worked on it just about all day today, so I’m super behind, but I have to take it to Columbus, Ga to get it worked on, and there’s no telling when they’ll get to it and I can get it back, so I’m trying to do what I can first. I have most of it apart and am in the process of putting it all back together from the pictures of took as I dismantled it. That’s why I am the computer, printing them out. Ha!

Plus, my son is buying a house, so I’ve had my Realtor hat on for weeks now, trying to help him get it to escrow. In all the years I was in real estate, I never encountered the incompetence we’ve had to deal with on this property. It’s a very special purchase for him, because his great, great, great grandfather was born and raised in that home back in the mid 1800′s, and it’s been out of the family for many years. When it came on the market, he made an offer and we’ve been working on it since the middle of March. Even though I’ve been retired from real estate for three years, thank goodness I had the experience to know what needs to be done and stay on these people who have to be chided into doing their job. It’s been unbelievable! As hard as jobs are to come by, you would think people would be a little more conscientious! We were supposed to close last week, but had to get an extension, so it may be into June, now. It’ll happen eventually, but man, it’s been a pain, because it’s a 203K Rehab property which he wants to restore, and there is SO MUCH much red tape to work through.

Anyway, my photos are done, do let me get my tools and get back at it. Talk to you guys later.

  39. strandoftds82 says:

  43. skillz_inc says:

  44. louisianabroncofan says:

i tell ya one of my favorite led zepplin songs i listened to over and over and over wasnt even led zepplin playing it. it was jack russell from great white singing stairway to heaven live. hell he sang it better than plant did! loved that cover

  45. louisianabroncofan says:

ya you actually got me skillz. i looked. but when i noticed it wasnt there, i didnt keep refreshing and looking i immediately thought, ah man- skillz……

  46. OrangeTsunami says:

I was just messing with ya Tide. Sounds like you got a lot on your plate, but it looks like all is well in your ‘Neck’ of the woods, and I’m sure everything will work itself out. I glad your son got the house, I remember you mentioned it a ways back. I hear you though, this week has been a brutal work week for me, and next week is shaping up to be equally as busy, which usually isn’t the case the week before and after Memorial Day. The weather here has been so rainy all week, with no signs of letting up, and we just decided to get out of dodge for the weekend.

That’s cool lbf. I went a few years back, and it was a blast! We saw the end both times, when the police on horses come down Bourbon Street. I think I’ve had my fill of Mardi Gras at this point, but I do want to check out Jazz fest. Great food down there too!

Later on Broncos Country!! Let’s go Blue Shirts!

  47. skillz_inc says:

    lol lbf my bad ;)
