Sports Illustrated released its 2011 Midseason Awards today and Broncos linebacker Von Miller earned the publication’s defensive rookie of the year honor.
“His instinctive moves around end have made him a premier pass-rush threat from Day One and justified the No. 2 overall pick,” said Sports Illustrated’s Peter King, who gave out the awards.
Miller ranks second among NFL rookies and eighth overall with six sacks this season. He is already tied for the sixth-most sacks by a rookie in franchise history. Miller registered a sack in five consecutive contests (Games 2-6) to mark the first time since 1991 a Broncos rookie accomplished that feat.

Well played Von.

Congrats to Miller, hopefully the 1st of many awards to come!!!!!
This guy is a great player, imagine how good he will be when he gets more NFL experience!!!!!!!!
Oh yeah…………F.T.R.
Maybe we should see how well he can block. Or throw. Or both.
Yeah FTR!!
Good to hear you hate bama bfe. I knew I liked you for a reason. So glad LSU is stomping opponents cuz the broncos are on a level of bad I thought I’d never see from this storied, proud franchise. I will hang in tough as long as it takes cuz my love for the broncos runs miles deep like alot of you but things have gotten goofy. Bad goofy not good goofy. I never thought we’d be here but whatya know, here we are! Like a bad dang dream & I’m losin it! Score prediction broncos 20 raiders 33. That’s the first time I’ve EVER predicted us to lose. And it sux.
Louisiana, hows goes it dude?
It goes tough strand. Tough times in bronco land but no way we stay down for too much longer. Been readin the blogs but I work constantly so never time to write. But we have really good bloggers here so I can’t stay away totally.
Did ya finally get the new DT CD yet?
Yeah, tough time for us Bronco fans, but we are resilient as fans.
We Bronco bloggers are the best.
O ya. Had it for a while now
Good stuff.
Absolutely man. Didn’t miss a beat. That’s one group that I don’t think will ever put out a bad album. And maybe in a few years mike will be back.
I`d put my chips in on Mike being back some day.
Ya I say for sure. Friend of mine who’s a huge fan says nope but I disagree. He boycotted them cuz he’s a drummer and loves portnoy. He’s all upset about it. It’s kinda funny.
if only we could be having midseason team success. Oh well just not our year.
And if we’re not careful bronco4l it won’t be our decade
Anyone hear from Bay yet?
Congrats #58
I wanna get something out of the way: I’m a Christian, and I find Tebowing hilarious. I don’t see any mockery in it whatsoever, even when opponents do it as celebrating. I see it as good fun more than anything else. But I’m pretty easy going, and I don’t believe Jesus was an uptight person. Anyway…
McFadden not playing is awesome. That dude always puts up like 450 yards against us.
I have no problem with the Tebowing thing either. Even as an opponent’s celebration. That said, I’d rather our opponents didn’t have reason to celebrate…
The thing that REALLY makes my blood boil, is when opponents celebrate with a Mile High Salute. I find that infinitely more offensive than Tebowing. I consider it Broncos “property” and no other team in this league rates the MHS! Grrr… Just thinking about it makes me angry. PS: FTR!!!
Semper Broncos!!!
On a previous blog I posted an article from a writer who made a tremendous point.
If Tebow were Muslim or Jewish and he was mocked….
You know it wouldn’t be just good fun.
Man… I’m praying for bay I hope he’s ok. He’s always had kind words for me when it comes to my personal lifes’ ups and downs.
A Mile High Salute to bay, hoping he’s fine along with a speedy recovery.

BFE92, Strands!! I agree F. T. R.
LMSDB
FTR
Dumervil, Bunkley, Thomas, Ayers—-DL
Miller, Mays, Williams or Woodyard.—-LB
Looks great in print. Why are we having such a tough time on Defense? Dumervil and Thomas have not been 100 % but they have to be close by now. Every player I just mentioned, except DJ, are all young players. Next season, two young Safeties will be starting. If we could draft Dre kirkpatrick(CB) in the 1st round and hope like hell that RG3 is there in the 2nd, I think that would ease our pain if we can’t get Luck.
Bay has posted once to say he got all the score predictions this week. Surely he is tired and need some rest before he starts posting like before.
Good V. Mill! Rookie of the year.
