This is going to be a ‘defining’ game for our young QB. Timmy has a few games under his belt and I do believe that McCoy and Fox will have a game plan in play that will further evaluate his progress. I hate to speculate; however, I think that the run option will be few and far between in our O plan unless we suck in the first half. I see some big throws down the field on our first few drives.

If our D is without Woodyard?… Well.. that’s already been speculated upon and I agree. I see Von and Doom having a good show, though.
    Go Broncos!!

with virtually no chance of hillis returning to cleveland, is there any chance he returns to denver?

  4. mikew007 says:

Hillis? I would think not….there is a history and he will be wanting a big contact.

  5. mikew007 says:

24-champ….could you be more specific? hahaha! Nice pick!

    I still say KC wins…hope I’m wrong!

    GO BRONCOS!!!

Right I a gonna write this drunk. It is 12 i the morning here in Belfast. Alot of pessimism with this team alot of optimism. I look down the positions and see alot of hope.

We have lost turrnovers, time of possesion etc but we r 3-5. Imagine what happens when tis team wns those stats. Tebow is a winner (LIKE IT OR NOT). The facts speak for themselves. More reason to expect him to succeed than fail. I only deal in facts. Alos why should people talk about him being outwardly christian. As far as he is corncerned Jesus said go forth and spread the news. I think the people who want to bring that up sell papers By the way not religious myself.

Some random things I thought about today:

I think this team needs an identity. A consistent formula for how we do things and how we are gonna win. We used to have that back in the day. We all talked about getting back to the Bronco way after McD screwed everything up and Elway is here in large part to bring back the Bronco way. Unfortunately for him, he has Tebow. I like Tebow and want him to be a Bronco long term, but he does not fit the mold Elway wants him to. Plain and simple. With Tim they will constantly be tweaking the offense till it suits him, as we did last week with the option read college stuff. Problem is that we can’t do that every week. And as soon as a team shuts it down, we will be creating a new offensive look. And we will do that all season using trial and error to find out how Tebow will be good at this level. Seems alright because we need to find out what we have in him, but we can’t build on a liquid platform. Tebow will play out the rest of the season, but he needs to improve and become consistently good, or he will be gone. No way we can go into the draft and look at any offensive players if we don’t know what kind of offense we have and how we are going to run it. If Tebow continues to struggle and need a completely new look offense every week, there is just no way they can keep him. We need a plan, and a consistent plan that a good and consistent QB can run week in and week out. No way they try Tebow another season if they can’t find a consistent way to win with him this year. Perhaps this isn’t well thought out, but it is how I feel.

That is a lot of pressure on a young QB. Doesn’t help that we play at Arrowhead.

    KC – 24
    DEN – 14

  13. WieminCA says:

I really believe that this is the week that Mr Tebow gets exposed … I hope I’m wrong – but I have a sneaky feeling that I’m right … we’ll see …

  14. canadasbroncfan says:

u dont think every nfl team “tweks their offence” every week. Dosent matter who the qb is, u need to change something every week. Coaching is too good now. At least with Tebow we have options. Orton we did not have any. The read option is a good start BUT he has to start making some first down passes. They start doing that and they could be scary good. Just saying

  15. canadasbroncfan says:

he got exposed 2 weeks ago remember but amazining enough with a decent game plan look what happened. So are they going back to the detriot gameplan?

  16. minidisaa says:

I like the Bronco’s to win, but expect a more dangerous KC team than in miami. This one may come down to the fourth quarter, but I agree it’s time for our team to turn the corner. We are healthy on defense and offense right now, Tim has progressed in the offense, and the schedule will only get tougher from here with the Jets on Thursday. This game is the lynch pin to our season. Win this week and we can at least believe in the possibility of beating NY next. This is a very important game in terms of this season and to see just how good we are at present. I would love to see a dominant victory, but a solid win is essential. I would say the difference between 3-7 or 5-5.

  17. BroncosLAX says:

We also played a over agressive Raiders Defenselast week and you cant blame the game plan when its tailored to Tebow. If he does it 2 weeks in a row props but if not then it doesnt look consistent

  18. minidisaa says:

You are right, there is a real possibility Tim gets exposed, but he seems to be progressing week to week as do the recievers. I would say as long as McCoy calls a balanced game and doesn’t fall into the stupor he did in the 4th last week, we should be fine. We exposed the Raiders biggest defensive issue, discipline. I would be suprised if we could be so successful running every down against KC, even if they are a little undersized. I would expect KC to send some heavy blitz packages our way early and continue if we don’t have an answer. This is all the Lions had to do, but the difference was the Lions have far more defensive talent and Tim had not seen that kind of intense pressure, even in Miami. We may struggle early, but the difference here is that we will burn the blitz this time around.

  19. canadasbroncfan says:

Most game plans are tailored for the starting qb. That was a great gameplan for the raiders. Do it for 2-4 weeks consistently with a few wrinkles thrown in then the team and coaches are getting paid for what their supposed to do. I dont think kc defence is that disipliend to shut down the read option though.

  20. minidisaa says:

Denver wins 17-13 in a field goal dominated first half followed by some key downfield throws in the third and fourth mixed in with alot of ball control offense on both sides. Denver scores the final touchdown in the fourth and promptly sits on the ball for the last four minutes.

  21. BroncoRoyaltyEst.1979 says:

    *Official Score Prediction*

    28-19

  22. canadasbroncfan says:

thought u couldn’t put a score in after midnight

  23. minidisaa says:

Honestly, I would be suprised to see so much read option in this game. I would expect more two back sets this week to mild success. There is a fear of being too predictable among coordinators. The first half will be defensive and low scoring. McCoy will open things up just a little in the second half. I hope I’m wrong, but McCoy only seems to look aggressive in spurts. Usually from behind, on the first series, or in the third and or the fourth.

  24. BroncoRoyaltyEst.1979 says:

The blog hasn’t set the blog clock correctly yet, so actually I entered @ 11:54 MST.

    -Royalty

  25. minidisaa says:

Fine then, no score at all, just Bronco’s by twenty, lord willing of course.

  26. canadasbroncfan says:

more first down pass plays will help but mcg is good right now so he needs his touches early. Tebow just needs to do what he does and we will be good. D will be solid with are pass rush getting better. Keep it close til the fourth and we will win

  27. canadasbroncfan says:

crap… didnt know that anyway i smell a 27-16 big bronc win with the d gettiong a score

  28. canadasbroncfan says:

lanch almost came back still the ugliest jerseys in pro sports

  29. daddybronc says:

Canada- Every Bronco uniform gives me a warm, cozy, familiar, feeling except those old brown jobs – those were ugly – but I like the orange, the blue, and the white. I happen to have greater preference for the orange. They are the most distinctive and make me feel a greater sense of identity than the others.

Just want to post my two cents-
Bay – I appreciate the posts from today and for the most part I agree with the analysis- might argue a very little with some of the conclusions.

As we go into tomorrows game I am thinking that I am confident in EFX. I believe that they really are working their collective tails off, to build a successful team in DEN. I am further convinced that they are in the mood to win, and win now, especially if they can do so with Tebow. I continue to think that if Tebow can survive yo-yo fans through seven 2011 starts (#4 tomorrow!!!) – Tebow will be the starting QB in the fall of 2012. Regardless of these thoughts- there is no doubt in my mind that Tebow will be backed up by different personnel come fall 2012. I mean that EFX are going to bring in a QB from the draft (the better Tebow does the more likely they will get a veteran from free agency, but I still really expect a drafted QB – though they will likely fill some defensive holes first.)- and I think they must because Orton and Quinn will be gone.

As I continue to support Tebow, in what I consider to be a unique experiment in the NFL, my support does not necessarily extend to any particular offensive package, or a particular offensive emphasis. I am learning to trust the process and the coaches. I believe they are working together to figure the best system for this personnel. Their success is still yet to be proven. In order to win in KC, McCoy is going to have to throw in some plays that KC doesn’t think Tebow can execute against them, and it is going to be up to Tebow to perform. I expect Tebow to prove his detractors wrong concerning his accuracy, and I think he will completely get his ‘line of scrimmage’ decision making up to speed. I expect Tebow to make good decisions. I think all of Tebow’s current difficulties still reside in Tebow’s own mind.

While it looks possible for Tebow, and the Broncos, to actually win the AFC West. I don’t particularly expect that. I think Bay is right – if the Broncos make it to the playoffs- things could get real ugly from there.

So – all that is stuff, written many times and in many ways by those who are thinking like I do.
    - the point….
It’s anybodies guess as to what may happen tomorrow. Fox needs to stick with Tebow!!!
Broncos may win big even though Tim Tebow plays poorly. Fox needs to stick with Tebow.
Broncos could get blown out. Fox needs to stick with Tebow.
Broncos may blow out the Chiefs. Fox needs to stick with Tebow because it is the right thing to do, and it is the right way to develop Tebow’s ability to play in the NFL, not because now is the time to decide Tebow’s future with the Broncos. They need to stick with Tebow because they need to see how he develops for at least 8 more games. These comments are not offered to further demonstrate my personal loyalty to Tebow but rather they flow out of my devotion to the Broncos and their return to their successful ways. I believe Tebow offers the Broncos a unique opportunity to get back to the Super Bowl and my greatest fear is that Tebow will make it there with a different team.

Wishing Dawk and Champ SB rings before retirement!!!

Did anyone watch the Stanford/Oregon game last night? It was not one of A. Luck’s best performances. Stanford got their behind handed to them on a platter by the Oregon offense and defense.

Good luck to everyone and GO BRONCOS!

The next 5 days could definitely be THE DECISIVE MOMENT of the 2011 Denver Broncos season.

And in the same light they could be the decisive moment for Tebow’s future with the Denver Broncos, no matter how unfair.

5 days from now we could be all the way back to 500 at 5-5 and clearly floating this boat.

5 days from now we could be all the way down to 3-7 and sinking with the ship.

That’s what’s at stake through Thursday, no less, an unbelievable amount of pressure to say the least starting in the Red Sea at Arrowhead today and ending up at home against the ever so dangerous Jets Thursday.

Monumental task if you ask me.

I will know so much more about this current team in only 5 days, unless of course we just split the games and end up 4-6 with still maybe a long shot at the division title in our sorry AFC West, and that’s probably what will happen, LOL.

Anyway, the material was there for a poignant take on these next 5 days so I took it, haha.

  36. baylinorcrush says:

    WARNING TO ALL:

Due to the short week next week, you will ONLY HAVE 3 DAYS TO PLACE YOUR SCORE PREDICTIONS FOR THE JETS game STARTING tomorrow Monday through Wednesday midnight blog time ONLY, no picks on game days ever, no exception.

    Consider yourselves warned, thanks.

  37. baylinorcrush says:

Meaning don’t even bother to make a pick for the Jets game in the game day’s blogs today because I don’t ever bother to read those on my only blog day off.

  38. baylinorcrush says:

I’m not religious per say, but on Bronco Sundays I respect the Bronco sabbath, LOL.

  39. baylinorcrush says:

And regardless of what happens to Tebow all these QB “visits” go to prove one thing to me, both Quinn and Orton will be gone next year. So as daddy always says they will have to bring in a QB even if we keep both Tebow and Weber:

The Broncos’ top two front-office bosses, John Elway and Brian Xanders, scouted the Arizona-Colorado game at Folsom Field in Boulder today.

They were there primarily to get a close look at Arizona quarterback Nick Foles, although there were several other draft-eligible players on both teams. The CU Buffs won 48-29 for their first ever Pac-12 victory. Foles had a mixed performance. The 6-foot-5, 240-pound senior completed 35 of 53 passes for 352 yards and a touchdown, but he also threw three interceptions.

  40. baylinorcrush says:

Here is a very humoristic take by a DP blogger on the QQ in Denver:

“Tim Tebow was named the people’s choice as the ideal Broncos quarterback of the future, ahead of Andrew Luck of Stanford and Matt Barkley of Southern California, in a survey of Denver Post readers. Here are four reasons an online poll such as this one is like a nude beach: 1) They both draw a lot of curious onlookers. 2) The only ones who participate are those who don’t have enough sense to realize they don’t belong. 3) They expose poor judgment. 4) The end result is often ugly.”

    Steve, Greenwood Village

    LMAO!!!

  41. baylinorcrush says:

Goodman providing some inspiration for the fans about the Tebow read option based on his wildcat experience with the Dolphins:

Goodman was with a Dolphins team that finished 1-15 in 2007 and was 0-2 to start the 2008 season when they faced the mighty New England Patriots. Miami tailback Ronnie Brown scored four touchdowns off the direct snap and threw for another score as the Dolphins won and finished an improbable 11-5.

“The wildcat got us to the playoffs in ’08,” Goodman said. “We ran off nine out of 10 and made the playoffs. The timing is about the same as what we’re doing with this offense. Hopefully, we have that same luck.”

  42. baylinorcrush says:

And this is one of those days where half of the Bronco bloggers will miss at least the first half of this early game, zzzzzzzzzzzzz…….

  43. baylinorcrush says:

Here is to hoping the players won’t, LOL.

  44. strandoftds says:

Hopefully we come away with a win today, then were at home for the Jets thursday night. It`s going to be a busy week!

Hi Bay! Happy Bronco Football Day Bronco Nation!!!

My pick was valid wasn’t it… I may have made it last Sunday Night after the Broncos beat the Raiders… (wasn’t clear on the rules)..

Could you check your list and see if my pick of Den 34 KC 17 made it on?

    Thank you…

  46. baylinorcrush says:

Yeah, you’re on there, must of made it after midnight last Sunday.

  47. Bronco_Turtle says:

Sweet! I hava a silly question… How do you score points/lose points? I’ve heard about the WOS (Wall of Shame I’m assuming) and was hoping not to be a member!!! :o )

  48. baylinorcrush says:

This is as good time as any for a little contest rules refresher:

    Weekly score prediction contest rules:

    1. You must post your score prediction for every Bronco game starting the day AFTER the previous game and ending the day BEFORE the game is played. Anything posted outside of that time frame will not be entered, no exceptions.

    2. Each week, congratulations and points will be awarded to the top five closest to the correct score and the worse predictions will have the dubious non honor of being placed on our Wall Of Shame and will be made feel the disgrace, LOL.

    3. The points awarded will be as follows:

    1st place 7 points
    2nd 4 points
    3rd 3 points
    4th 2 points
    5th 1 point
Entry onto Wall of Shame minus 5 points

    4. Example of how points and places are awarded:

    Last year Broncos Jets 20-24

Two way tie for 1st place:
WieminCA 17-27 prediction, 6 total points off actual score = 7 points
Baylinorcrush 20-30, also 6 total points off = 7 points also

3rd place (no 2nd place since there was a two way tie for 1st):
    CarnageBronc 10-24, 10 total points off = 3 points

    4th place:
    MANDIEGO 17-34, 13 total points off = 2 points

    5th place:
    oldsouthstander 20-38, 14 total points off = 1 point

    Wall of Shame:
ddk002, picking us to win 31-14, total disrespect for Rex, haha = minus 5 points.

    5. You cannot place top five no matter how close you are points wise if you pick the wrong team to win.

    6. WOS entry is awarded to whomever chooses the wrong team to win and by the largest point spread.

    7. At year end all points will be tabulated and we will get our new scoring guessing Champion of the year, the King of the Kingdom, i.e. the Ruler of Bronco Country, and we will also extend congratulations to bloggers finishing in the top 12 places, and brace yourselves Wall of Shame people, you will be made major fun of, you can count on that too, haha.

    8. Remember, it’s all for fun and pride, no prizes, no affiliation with the organization, just a figment of my imagination, feel free to enter one week or all 16 and have some major fun doing so, many bloggers do, watch out for that Wall of Shame though, it can be a beatch, and by entering you agree to release me from any abuse I might throw your way, LOL.
