The NCAA men’s basketball tournament began today, and it’s safe to say there’s plenty of attention on televisions throughout the facility.
In fact, when Brady Quinn walked up to the podium to begin his press conference, he noticed that his alma mater, Notre Dame, was in a tight game with less than two minutes remaining.
So he proceeded to step off the podium and watch the remainder of the game, bantering back and forth with some of the media. Unfortunately, Notre Dame lost by a point, and the quarterback headed back up to the podium for his press session.

But that wasn’t the last sign of March madness at Dove Valley. When Wesley Woodyard stepped up to begin his press conference, he announced that he had his alma mater, Kentucky, going all the way to win the championship this year.
He also managed to tease a reporter about the University of North Carolina, who, as he said, “barely won” its first game in the NIT.
As a proud Tar Heel, let me first say that they’ll be much better next year. Also, an NIT championship banner wouldn’t look too tacky next to those five NCAA championship banners in the Dean Dome.
Hope everyone’s bracket remains unbusted this weekend.

this year
2006 guys had great years. (Except for cutler)
2007 didn’t even play. (Including harris)
2008 All of them didn’t perform like they did their rookie year(Even clady)
2009 No one had a good year. (Moreno woulda had a better year if he went to camp)
2010 ?????????
Wouldn’t be nice if every draft was like that?
Could you imagine a world where players performed exactly like they did in college?
No more ryan leaf, jarvis moss.
Sometimes I can’t believe how Players just can’t translate into the NFL. They can dominate in High school and in college and just completely flop in the pros.
I personally hate the draft and rookies. (Unless there is some weird Elway vibe to them)
They way I see it, there needs to be a rookie wage scale.
Also, if your drafted in the first round you NEED to make a probowl or all pro before your contract is up. Its a waste if they dont.
We need more guys like DJ williams and Ryan Clady. Guys that can hop off the bus and can just flat out ball.
They are talking about putting a rookie salary cap into effect next season I think. That’s why Eric Berry is turning pro this year to make the big $$$$$$$$.

^ excellent
The thing is in college they’re playing for their team and their school. Some are just playing for themselves and the ones that just play for themselves and get drafted are just in it for the money. Like Russell, heldout, got a huge contract, and is worthless. Leaf, same thing, Jarvis Moss, same type of thing.
I’m all for a rookie salary cap.
hell ya… the money we pay unproven rookies in this league is OUT OF CONTROL!!!! no way those guys should be getting those kinds of contracts just because of their draft position! especially since i think the bust rate has increased over the last decade as we have started paying more and more money to these 1st round rookies. make them play for like 3 yrs without the huge contract to prove their worth and THEN pay them…. you know like marshall!! PAY THAT GUY!! lets put a petition together to cap the rookies!! i will definately sign that!!
“THE BATTLE IS WON IN THE TRENCHES”
Dwan Edwards didn’t sign with the Broncos or Seahawks because he failed 2 physicals because of his back. But somehow he passed his physical with Buffalo??? Anyway the Bills are converting to a 3-4,so Edwards and Andra Davis will help them, just thought I’d throw that out there, not a Bills fan.
Denver Broncos are having a private workout for Gerhart at Norco High School in Cali. This is the school I teach at so I will try to get out there and watch. It is scheduled for Wednesday the 24th. I will keep you all posted if I here anything. I’m pretty excited, I hope that I can do some observing.
Thanks Big D 44 – much appreciated.
Big D 44 Thanks for the info, keep it coming,a lot of us want Gerhart here especially since Hillis got traded.
My pleasure guys. I actually had some flashbacks from my playing days and though about going out there to try out myself. jk lmao So if you see a new guy signed that you have never heard of before, you know what happened. lol Hey, a guy can dream right?
I also would love to have Gerhart, the guy is an absolute beast and is a great person off the field. Also, he is extremely intelligent. I forget what the test is called that they do at the combine (wonderlink?) but Gerhart scored the highest of all runnning backs.
GO BRONCOS…
Oooops, “thought about”
Seahawks wanting to do a trade package for the BEAST…

I say NO don’t do it,nothing less than a #1 pick remember McD.
Im all for a rookie salary cap. The money they make is ridiculous without proving anything…all rookie contracts need to be mostly incentive based. I mean honestly, you are drafting potential…if you reach the potential we expected, you will get an incentive for that year. like instead of 2 mill, make pro bowl u get 4 mill or something
Thx for info on Gehart…Dunno how I feel about him being a Bronco when thinking of other good Powerbacks and the draft pick it will take to get him and stuff. But he has raw skill which is nice especially since we lost Hillis like many mentioned. And I believe this is the second time we are having a private workout with him so, looking more and more like we will be gunning for him.
He is projected for the second round, so I dunno. If we get him it will throw alot of things out of whack, as far as gunning for Oliners or defenders…etc
Yesterday Bowlen said he hasnt talked to Marshall. Today its been reported that Marshall and McD are in the same town, but no meeting between the two is scheduled…this gets worse by the day.
I’m on the Gerhart bandwagon. I wonder if he will be available at our 2nd round spot…
Too bad we now have to wait until mid April for the primetime schedule announcement. Guess the league is too busy trying to change OT and hash out a new CBA???
Yeah if we are gonna do the power scheme we need a Beast at RB,Gerhart would be nice,Moreno is more slash/cut style, but they would make a great 1-2 punch.
I hear ya TRB,the league needs a rookie salary cap,too many kids comin out early and way to many flops, they need to play at least a year or two to prove their worth, then a clause,or incentive for more money so they won’t be FA’s.So you can sign them for 5 years and make them earn it or settle for less money.
How about the number six pick? Or the G Sims and the 14th pick? Anything less is NOT going to benifit our team.
Although, Sims/Spencer/2nd and 4th for Marshall and a 3rd looks good value wise…we shall see!
Then we are stuck with a huge hole for #1 wide out. Which probably means drafting Dez Bryant. Then trading up for Gerhart. Waiting around for the 4th round…..
GRRRRR…McD could have-Signed Marshall, Kept Hillis, Kept Wiegmann and drafted a QB and center with our first two picks. It is what it is!
That report is barely even credible, go look at how many errors are in it, thats not professional at all.
I personally prefer Demarylius Thomas or how ever u spell his name but above all…I prefer Brandon Marshall….Call me crazy but I would rather have Bmarsh than any WR in the NFL right now. Not saying he is the best, no one does what he does quite like him, the tackle breaking, the juking, the YAC…not to mention he can plaster defenders and do all the things we need a WR to do. Im just a fan, can’t help it lol
Sndvl I hear ya, I feel like we just gave up a 7th round pretty solid, potentially great power RB just to waste our 2nd round pick to get one. Anyway, there a lot of, “It is what it is’s” going on in the McD era…
I would not be surprised if mcd uses his very first pick on gerhart. He picked moreno way to early and I can see him screwing it up again.
I wouldn’t say that Drunken, I felt the same way last draft when guys like Cushings and Maualuga were still available at 12 and we picked Moreno, but Cushings and Mauluga were best in a 4-3 not in a 3-4. He picks the BEST PLAYERS available.
Then why didn’t he pick Orakpo? He’s better than Ayers. And Moreno probably would have been available at 16.
you guys keep forgeting that moreno was rated the #1 RB in the draft! maybe we could have waited till our second first round pick but then again he may have been gone already! i think i will wait a couple seasons before deciding if moreno is over rated! and i would also like to see the NFL put a block on players coming out of school early! i think a degree should count when negotiating a contract! better for the players that way plus gives them more time to mature before that big pay day ya know!
Moreno only had one good college year though. He was coming out early in a weak running back class and clearly Shon greene was better. And I agree with Footballmaniac. Orapko was the best player on the board. The entire world saw that, even my kid brother knew orapko was the best on the board. Being too narrowminded in a draft can kill a team. That explains why a number 1 was wasted for Alphonso smith. He was so high on mcds board.
Looks like quite a few mock drafts are now changing their predictions for our #11 pick. I reviewed at least 17 mock drafts. Dez Bryant now seems to be the front runner in 10 of those 17 reviewed. The mock draft world is feeling Marshall is on the move. I agree with you baylinor, doesn’t make sense to bring in a high maintenance WR like Bryant. Dan Williams or maybe McClain seem to be the likely selection, but we’re stocked at both positions now.
Not sure who X man and McD will take……. Mike Iupati ?? (Guard- 6’5″ 330 lbs). Cowboys and Steelers looking at this kid as well.
Huge mistake to take dez over Marshall.
1. You will have to pay bryant more than crabtree. Moreno held out you can count on Bryant holding out.
2. Marshall comes at a cheaper 1st round tender price
3. Bryant has never caught a pass in the NFL, Marshall has many
4. Both recievers don’t exactly stretch the field but marsh does it better
5. Bryant has bigger diva problems than Marshall. Already stood up a few gms. Marshall isn’t a diva just wants to get paid more than a 3rd string qb
mcd preaches getting better at positions and this is the opposite of that.
I call this the Brandon Marshall theme haha
