The NCAA men’s basketball tournament began today, and it’s safe to say there’s plenty of attention on televisions throughout the facility.
In fact, when Brady Quinn walked up to the podium to begin his press conference, he noticed that his alma mater, Notre Dame, was in a tight game with less than two minutes remaining.
So he proceeded to step off the podium and watch the remainder of the game, bantering back and forth with some of the media. Unfortunately, Notre Dame lost by a point, and the quarterback headed back up to the podium for his press session.

But that wasn’t the last sign of March madness at Dove Valley. When Wesley Woodyard stepped up to begin his press conference, he announced that he had his alma mater, Kentucky, going all the way to win the championship this year.
He also managed to tease a reporter about the University of North Carolina, who, as he said, “barely won” its first game in the NIT.
As a proud Tar Heel, let me first say that they’ll be much better next year. Also, an NIT championship banner wouldn’t look too tacky next to those five NCAA championship banners in the Dean Dome.
Hope everyone’s bracket remains unbusted this weekend.

breaks tackles and not a pint sized corner…unfortunately his stick has been rising and is now projected for 2nd/3rd round. used to be 3rd/4th round. Can’t spend a 2nd on him (thanks to McDs dumb phonzie move we can’t use another high pick for a CB the next year) but i wouldnt mind him in the 3rd/4th
I still say we need to cut Berger and give the punting job to Colquitt.Wished we could find a great KR too,we need to get a lot better on ST.Last season we got hurt a lot on 3 and outs and them stupid 20 yard punts might as well been a turnover.
Has anyone heard anything about Shawn andrews from Philly? and what are the opinions about Stanley Daniels from Green Bay?
For those that have time read this post and it will put a little bit of perspetive on the draft,Marshall, and the Center.

*Center/Guard position.
Great article. He talks about some young talent on the roster that I had completely forgotten about. Other than what he said about the Giants moving up in the draft, I hope his predictions are correct
Interesting article BFE. It does mention what I posted in previous blogs about Selth Olsen possibly switching from Guard to Center postion.
McD spoke. Said Orton was number 1. I guess that means Quinn will be starting…
How the heck did we let Joey Porter get away???????
McD left the door open when he said “players determine their roles by what they do on the field.”
It just means that Quinn has EVERY chance to beat out Orton for the starting job. He just has to win over the players and Coaches respect on the field.
Give’er the WOOD Brady. I can’t take another season of three and Orts at the hand of the Sloth! “SlOrton”
I like this Charles Scott guy. 5-foot-11, 232-pound RB. Here’s what scout.com had to say about him:
One of the keys to Scott’s success is his powerful leg drive. And as he displayed at the NFL Combine as one of the top performers in the three-cone drill, he changes direction remarkably well for a big back.
At LSU’s Pro Day, the 5-foot-11, 232-pound runner raised some eyebrows when he weighed in six pounds lighter then he was at the Combine, ran a 4.53-second forty and benched 17 reps. Those reps confirmed the feedback Scott said he got from doctors at the NFL Combine about his collarbone–it’s healing nicely and that he should be ready for full contact well before he needs to start banging pads with his new NFL teammates.
Scott would be a welcome addition to NFL teams who were among the lowest performers in third-and-short situations or who struggled to score touchdowns in goal-line situations–the Seahawks, Chiefs, Lions, Cardinals, Browns, Bears, and Broncos–just to name a few.
Does anybody know how compensatory picks work? Not the ones for RFA. 32 picks were given out to 19 teams. From Fox Sports.

Great article. Waiting for some to correct the writer on being Bronco Nation! LOL

Hey Broncos fans, is there a Rockies or Nuggets blog?
Footballmaniac:
It’s very simple; you compare the value of the FA’s you signed vs the value of the FA’s you lost. You then do one of the following:
1) If it’s a Thursday, you click your heels three times, spin twice counterclockwise and spit as far as you can, the futher you spit, the higher the draft pick.
2) If it’s raining, you get behind the curtain and yell “Ignore that man!” Play HORSE with Dicky V. Your pick goes higher for every letter you get.
3) Run naked thtrough the streets yelling “I’m the king in my new clothes” and then go one on one with Dan Issel. If you’re still alive, you get a pick.
And here you thought is was hard to understand.
McDaniels said that Orton is his starting QB.
So that means Quinn is the starter.
Footballmanic:
I agree with oldsouthstander!! On number 3!!

I see florio’s_mom understands McD talk.

joey porter is a marshmello. enough said.
I understand compensatory picks now!
Breaking news! Josh McDaniels says he likes Vanilla Ice cream……this mean he like Chocolate.
Why does this team feel like the SpongeBob episode “Opposite Day”????
florio’s_mom:
Humm post a link for us that have never seen the episode “Opposite Day” Or explain what happened to SpongeBob. Draft is still some time off and I need a time filler! LOL
FTR
nfl.com is reporting broncos intrested in signing mawea
That was a great article
As far as joey porter…psssh, screw him, especially if Marshall is staying like I want him too…Porter has beef with Marshall…thats more drama than we need.
I like Charles Scott as well. Didn’t hear much about him during combine so i thought he has long fallen off. He would be awesome on 3 and short
Lmao @ all the people who understand when McD says somethign he means the opposite lol

Man I can’t wait til the Draft!!!! There is nothing going on in Broncos Country right now……Boring….
You have been saved marshmelo. You said Bronco Country.
Hopefully Ayers develops for us this year and has a breakout year. That would be sweet to have him and Doom on opposite sides. The opponents O-line and QB would be terrified!!!! Never nowing which one is gonna get ‘em!!!!!
Ayers will have a breakout year.IMO….especially with an improved Defense. It will free up our LB’s to wreak havok.
Ayers is like Doom as far as being a DE in college and making the transition to OLB,time to start him and let him earn that 5 mil he will make this year.
I agree, i think Ayers will have a break out season.
All the rookies need to have break out seasons. Cuz they all sucked last year.
Let’s just hope that Ayers isn’t another Jarvis Moss is all I’m sayin. He definitely has the potenital. I just hope he is dedicated to his craft.
Tell ya what. I didn’t like Moss from day one.
I remember watching his first interview and all I remember was ppl asking him about his maryjane days.
Not all the rookies sucked last year. Knowshon Moreno had a good rookie year. True that he faltered out towards the end of the year but that’s cuz he was tired. He wasn’t poised to play as much as he did and as long as he did. Mcd ran the crap out of him. I don’t care what anyone says for a rookie to come in here and do the things he did, almost 1000 yards 7 TD’s and 28 receptions for 2 more TD’s that is pretty impressive.
Moss has had some injuries, but he isn’t living up to expectations.I watch a lot of SEC football and Ayers is the real thing,he even asked Al Wilson if he could wear his # since they both were drafted from Tennessee. My question is why did McD draft him knowing we were gonna play a 3-4 scheme, knowing he was a DE,and weighing only 265 lbs, unless he knew he could be converted, instead of drafting a true LB????
MM he also sat out 2 games I believe and shared time with Buck,so 965 yds was pretty darn goob.IMO
It wasn’t spectacular.
Not like 2008
BFE… I Agree I think that’s really good. Hopefully this year with more time to condition himself and with the experience of knowing what a full NFL season takes he will not falter out in the end and increase all of those numbers.
Bruton and McBath will be good safties when it’s their time.Sometimes rookies take a little time to learn,I look for big things outta Moreno and Ayers next season.
I agree florio
2008 like when we went through 8 RB’s and not a single one of them had over 500 yards rushing???? I didn’t know that was spectacular???/
Im talking rookie class
Ahhh….. Got ya
That was the best immediate impact class. 2006 may be better overall
Yeah that is true.. Can’t go wrong with Clady, Royal, Larsen, Hillis all of which played a huge roll on our team that year.
And 2006 was a great draft too!!! Cutler, Marshall, Scheffler, Kuper and Dumervil…. well you get the Idea
I would be satisfied if this years draft matches any of those two drafts as far as talent is concerned.
