I'm not sure why some are chastising the tebow talk. if you dont want to talk about tebow, dont. if you dont want to read about tebow, dont. simple. he was a part of our team very recently and was a big part of the broncos season last year, good and bad. he was the starting qb and 1st round pick. there is no way anyone can legitimately say he shouldnt be talked about or act like talking about him somehow is 'oldnews' or inconsequential to the nfl. its not. he's a big part of the nfl diolague no matter what anyone may think. its offseason, we replaced our starting qb with a completely different qb with a completely different style and its gonna completely change our team dynamic. that is absolutely worth conversing about. it wont stop and it shouldnt for at least this season. so please quit acting like talking about tebow is so taboo. it isnt.

DB - Below is an brief overview of the current NFL Revenue sharing, as per the CBA. Even if Tebow was responsible for a massive influx of new fans, the revenues generated would be shared equally by all NFL teams. The only way Tebow can benefit a team financially, under the current structure, is for him to help his team sell tickets, in particular the luxury boxes b/c of the lucrative corporate sponsorships that go along with them. It just so happens that the New stadium built for the Giants and Jets, at a price tag of over $1.6B, was built for the sole reason of increasing the number of luxury boxes, therefore increasing the potential revenue draw each home game. As mentioned before, the Jets have done very poorly selling these boxes, and even had a number of regular season tickets available at the time of the trade - Tebow will no doubt change that. Since the Denver Broncos have a long waiting list of loyal fans for season tickets, the Tebow effect (if any) will not help Pat Bowlen's bottom line, as he still makes the same amount of money everytime Tebow's jersey is sold.

Revenue sharing

About 2/3 of the NFL's money comes from the TV deal. The players get about 2/3 of team revenue. So, more or less, the TV contract goes to pay the players. These contracts are typically for about 5 years, and every time they are renegotiated the price goes up. So do player's salaries.

The money from the TV contract is share and share alike - the Redskins, Cowboys, Bills, and Packers get identical checks. This money is key to the success of the smaller franchises. Without the TV contract money, there is simply no way on earth that Green Bay could ever field a competitive team.

There are a lot of other sources for NFL money. NFL licensed jerseys, for example that Randy Moss jersey you put on your kid last Halloween when you dressed him up as a demon, result in license fees going to the NFL. This money is also equally shared.

Unshared money

The newer stadiums have large box seats which are leased to corporations. This money is not currently shared, which gives individual teams a big incentive to get a new stadium with fewer normal seats and more corporate seats.

This is cool...I have to say though...I was watching NFL network yesterday and they were discussing the AFC West...The two who were talking about it (i don't remember who, probably dukes and baldinger) meantioned the two teams they thought could run away with this division....to my suprise, and amusement they didn't even meantion Denver...Kansas City and San Diego were their picks....I know everyone here probably agrees with me, but I have to vent. San Diego and Kansas City have made no really notable FA moves this off season...Denver (Defending division champs) dropped Tebow after picking up Manning, on top of that we picked up several players to bolster our seconday (Adams, Porter, Florence). oh! and don't forget we picked up Jack Del Rio...who's jag D ranked in the top ten nearly every year he was coaching...Bottom line, I would be shocked if Denver (equipped with a healthy Manning) wasn't completely dominant this season...This should be arguably the most talented team Manning has played with, thus far in his career...either way, I suppose its ok if everyone overlooks us, it will be just that much easier to take over!

Isn't it worse right now to be a Colts fan? They let go of the guy who built their franchise..... they must be on pins and needles to see if he is the QB we all hope he is.

I shouldn't shocked; but I still am, that we are still talking about Tebow on here.....

Manning is about to blow up the AFC West, the NFC North is turning into must see TV, and Denver's defense has the potential to be the best in a decade. Why wast more time on Tebow, he shall prove to be what he shall prove to be.

So, is this the most 'under the radar' draft class in the history of the Broncos? Or what?

in respose to daddybroncs post on the last blog (11:44 pm), i do think thats all correct, but the number of people tebow brings in can be divided into a few parts. the tebowites, the only if tebows involved, the only if tebow does well, and the true new football fans. now my argument was for the value to the broncos (even though i really disagree about his league wide value, too), which you said would suffer monetarily for letting him go, and i say that manning selling out jerseys starts the debunking process for that idea. when you have a qb like manning, who will dominate the league because of his elite ability, your team wins alot more games and is seen all over the country as a winner. and the fact is winning teams with a stellar, big name qb do very well outside of their local market. they do alot better than a team bringing in a few christians who mostly like tebow only. tebow would be here and we would be playing that embarrassing brand of football, and the magic would wear off, especially when we started losing alot of games due directly to pitiful qb play. and i dare say even the christian tebow fans will back away from football as it gets worse and worse. so i say i'd rather have what manning brings in that aspect over what tebow does. of course i know you'll say i'm assuming there would be poor qb play from tebow. and i say i'm definately not assuming.

I have been hoping/waiting for the jersey to come out in the blue that manning has worn during OTAS. Anyone know when or if that will be?

With Tebow and now Manning the Broncos have been well represented in the jersey sale department over the last few years.

*IT folks* this new look blog is still frequently "crashing" on my iPhone. It happens when I hit the "comments" bar to see what people are writing and is worse when there's a lot of comments to load.
