When Peyton Manning was introduced as the new Broncos quarterback, he said one of the first things he wanted to do in Denver is get to know all his new teammates.
“I met [WR] Eric Decker on my visit,” Manning said, cracking a smile. “[DE] Elvis Dumervil and [CB] Champ Bailey have been blowing up my phone. Hopefully that will die down a little bit and I can get to know them in person.”
On Monday, Bailey had a chance to defend himself.
He laughed and said Manning only texted him back twice, but the last text was, ‘Let’s go,’ and Bailey said “that’s all I needed.”
“The way I looked at it, being in his shoes—I know everybody’s trying to get a piece of him, and I just wanted to let him know that I was here if he had any questions,” Bailey explained. “I just wanted to support him wherever he went, but I did let him know how badly I wanted him on my team. At the same time, he didn’t have to say much. He texted me and said that he’d get back to me. He did, and then he texted me after he agreed to come here. ‘Let’s go,’ pretty much.”
During the process, Bailey said he didn’t get his hopes up that Manning would end up a Bronco. While he wanted it to happen “pretty badly,” he said he let the situation play itself out.
So when he saw Manning would be his teammate, how did it feel?
“It was a good feeling,” Bailey smiled. “I can’t really put it into words how I felt at the time, but I just know it just gave me a chance to get somewhere I want to go.”

If our defense can play lights out like they did late last season, I don’t see why we wouldn’t be able to score 30+ points a game and accumulate 10+ wins. We’re Super Bowl contenders and I expect us to win it within the next 3 seasons!

While I get excited for every broncos season…………..I’m especially jacked for this one……..as this is the first time in a while I can see us making a serious run in the playoffs.
Yes, I know a lot still has to happen to round out this roster but it’s just a gut feeling unlike any I’ve had in quite some time………say 97 and 98? lol

that KC game still leaves a sour taste. It was, for me, when I decided that I didn’t think TT could really be the guy IMO. To go up against the guy you replaced, at home, and have the D hold the chiefs to 7 points and only be able to muster a meazly 3………..that was just inexcusable in my book……..especially considering the magnitude of the game if we didn’t get the help from the other teams that we needed.

I personally don’t think we will be superbowl contenders until our D can stop the true aerial attacks. Guys like Packers, Lions, Pats to name a few that torched us last year both with TT and Orton under center. Sure with manning we can hang now (if he is the same) but we still need to limit THIER scoring … and 6 TDs in 1 half in the playoffs doesnt make me to confident. However Many rookies have a year under their belt, Got Porter, Got a new and possibly better DC … if the draft goes well our D could be on the way to good enough to get us to the ship. But thats way in the future, all I want to know is where we stand on mannings arm and if he can last the season because if he goes down early in the season (God forbid, im not wishing anything bad on our Broncos) Playoff talk and superbowl possibilities might be an after though … Not unless Brock Osweiler has something to say about it LOL … wouldn’t that be hilarious tho? Ala Ben Roethlisberger lol.

I like all the Bruce Irvin talk. He’s a HUGE fan favorite in Morgantown, and for good reason. 22 1/2 sacks in his only 2 years at WVU in a defense that does not facilitate D linemen picking up a great deal of sacks. (WVU ran a 3-3-5 stack).
Although I think Bruce is better off as a 3-4 OLB, he was very underrated in rush defense and could beef up to be a 4-3 end. All I know is Bruce is really, really good at 1 thing: Putting the QB on the ground
Polk and Doug on the list nice. More of a Doug guy but can appreciate the size and speed of Polk … if Doug doesn’t drop to late in the 2nd hopefully Polk drops to late in the 3rd … either that or we trade a 3rd and one of our 4ths for a high second to get Martin. Looking forward to the draft.

According to many there is a 99% chance SNF season opener is Steelers at Denver. The 1% is Denver at Patriots.
Denver may also have 2 MNF games and the third Thanksgiving day game.

All in all, not a bad NFL career for former University of Colorado linebacker Brian Iwuh. The Broncos officially placed Iwuh on their reserved-retired list Tuesday, ending his six-year NFL career.
Iwuh was an undrafted rookie who was primarily a special teams standout for Jack Del Rio’s Jacksonville Jaguars from 2006-09. Iwuh spent the past two seasons with the Chicago Bears. After the 2011 regular-season, the Broncos signed Iwuh for their two playoff games.
Good Luck Mr. Iwuh. I dont think you played a down but thanks for being apart of the team.
