Broncos quarterback Peyton Manning is a candidate for Sports Illustrated’s year-end cover as the magazine celebrates the top sports moments of the year.
Fans can vote for their choice of the top sports moment from 2012 on Sports Illustrated’s Facebook page through Thursday, Dec. 13. The winner will be featured on the cover of the magazine’s Dec. 31st issue.
Manning’s comeback currently ranks in the top 5, and the Broncos’ overtime playoff win against Pittsburgh in last year’s AFC Wild Card round is also in the top 10.
Through 13 games this year, Manning has completed 330-of-483 passes for 3,812 yards and a franchise single-season record 30 touchdown passes.

Kraft and Bellicheater will find a way to get around those numbers, and pay a fine like the skins and Cowboys did this year… Sucks but I think that is the reality
Except Manning isnt far from top 5 all time though. Your the only one who thinks so BT. Maybe you missed it but every person who works for the NFL as an analyst says he is without a doubt top 5 QB all time if not the greatest of all time.
I agree he’s top 5… no doubt, never said he wasn’t even when I thought he’s never play again
If he wins a superbowl here I’d put him in the top 3… ahead of Montana (but that is more because I hate Montana like the Raiders) Just my thoughts, nothing to get excited over!!
They would pay a cap fine more than what they would have to pay Brady for that year to cut him. Downside of his restructured deal. With the money moving around it raises his cost to cut.
Manning is better than Brady. Mannign has done something to QBs that Brady hasnt done. Manning completely changed the way its played. Manning did that not Brady.
Your oppinion AB… I disagree as the rules redefined the game, and Peyton was the beneficiary. Manning is not better than Brady and Brady has had as much or more influence on the game. Brady re-redefined the No huddle that Peyton made famous but Elway and Jim Kelly used as well but they were not the first
Peyton is AMAZING… TOP 5 all time… But Brady is top 2
You can’t be the best EVER and have a sub .500 record when it matters (Playoffs)… period
I disagree as in the playoffs it becomes harder for one player to carry the team no matter how good especially without a D. If you switched Brady and Mannings teams Manning would have 5 SBs and Brady maybe only one.
AB… what did you think of that Punch Marquez hit Pacquiao with? Wow is all I could think…
If if’s and buts were candy and nuts we’d all have a merry christmas!!!
Anyways I’m out. One of the babies (probably Anakin) is stirring so is probably about to wake up. Peace out broncos country
Later AB! Good luck with the chosen one!!!

This guy counts as a bruiser back… He will probably be available next season, wonder if there is any gas left in that tank
Didn’t see it but heard about it. Pacquio dominated except for two punches is what I actually heard.
Yep… dominated, it was a perfect punch right on the button AB… WHAM folded his face and he was out COLD COLD
brady is top 15 all time. i cant place him any higher because that team is stellar with or without him. they were contenders before he got there with delholme and contenders with cassel when brady went down for an entire season.
he is in the same discussion as bradshaw montana young plunket. undoubtedly good qbs but you cant really say how good. all of those teams were good enough that none of those qbs ever had to put those teams on their back for a win
Now we are counting on the Colts to to give the Broncos the #1 seed. Houston has to lose two of its’ final three – and Broncos have to win out…
Suddenly I’m feeling “Lucky”!!! LOL
HOU has Colts – Vikings – Colts – I think their is a chance that the Texans enter the playoffs as a wildcard team. (One thing is certain – Shaub flounders when it’s time to be great!)
Pats face Niners / Jags / Dolphins – with only a slight chance of dropping any of them.
Brady blows. He plays with a team that could do just fine without him. Peyton changes the way football is played by being the OC/QB at the same time. If peyton switches teams, it takes quite a while to get used to what he does because he controls the offense. If you put tom brady on another team, its just like if you put in any other QB. Brady needs to get on Peyton’s level.
Alex…. you once said Elway had no claim to the greatest of all time, that is a defacto disqualification from any future GOAT conversations!!!
Brady is at worst a Top 3 QB… anything else is just unadulterated hate!!!
Hiya DB! What did you think of that football clinic put on tonight by Mr. Brady? Thing of beauty right! he has more 4 TD, 0 INT games than any other QB and is in the most complex offense ever unvield to the NFL (love him or hate him McD is an offensive wizard)
And what does Delhomme have to do with the Pats and Tom Brady Alex? Bledsoe was the guy that played there before Brady… Delhomme played against Brady in a Superbowl is that the connection you were after?
unveiled*
and Speaking of Delhomme, did you know he played on the same college team as Brandon Stokley…? Crazy! U of L Lafayette then known as Southwestern Louisiana
bldesoe. delholme. whats the difference?
you will have to referesh my my memoru as to when i said elway has no claim to GOAT. By my own criteria elway is top 3 of all time. he took some sub-par teams to the playoffs. elway spent the majority of his career with the team on his back.
the only thing i have said is elway probably wouldnt have his rings without td
i meant to the sb
It was the night the other guy accused AB and me of teaming up on you when we were actually having two completetly different conversations… and you started your post with Elway has no claim to GOAT because it took TD to win a SB , and that is the reason I had to take issue with you then, and now really
I think the difference in Delhomme and Bledsoe is substantial and if you have misinformation as part of your reasoning, your reasoning is very possibly flawed… that’s all I was getting at
and you definitely said Elway had no Claim to GOAT… I’ve not really taken you seriously since, I enjoy your posts but don’t really take much of what you post to heart
warner mcnair both mannings brees tarkenton cunningham mcnabb. they all carried their teams far more than brady does. heck – cutler carries the bears far more than brady carries the pats.
gronk hernendez wilfork and welker are all as valuable to the pats as brady.
now I know you have to just be joking around…
bt – i think you missed my point back then.
and since i never took you seriously in the first place i guess we are on even ground
matt cassell 11- 5. laugh all you want buddy. cassel sucks and still had a probowl season with that team. that says more than i ever could about that team.
LOL… no, that reasoning says more about your thought process or lack there than anything really… Cassel lost 5 games on a team that should have gone undefeated because he had a QB friendly system… he did what he had to, controlled the ball and didn’t turn it over. Simple
Cassel did what any good backup should do… run your offense and don’t make mistakes, I can’t help it that so many people went Gaga over a guy that was a career backup in College
and for your football fact base… Tarkenton played on a team with one of the very best defenses in the history of the league, good enough that the Purple People Eater actually got to a SB with Joe Kapp as QB before Tark was there
how do you not realize you just made my argument. for the last 10 years brady played in a qp friendly system. just do your job and protect the ball and the team will win.
simple
LOL… Brady takes a good team and makes it great. How does that make your arguement? HAHA you are a real jokester tonight bud!!!
Cassel was a solid backup… how does that have any reflection on the talent level of Brady… he elevates that offense to beyong elite status, he makes them the team to beat any time he’s on the field…
im starting to sense trolling. i stick by my opinioin but will defend it no further tonight.
good day, sir.
The team lost 5 times that season… that is not great considering the talent level around him… Cassel maintained, Brady enhances… that to me is the simple part
Is Rogers less of a QB because Flynn came in one game in a good system and tore it up? no of course not… so how can this be considered sound logic?
Good Night Alex! sleep well
And Alex, those guns unfortunately don’t seem to have any bullets! better get them checked…
what guns?
wtf are you blbbering about you s.f.r.
You said you were sticking to your oppinion (which some call guns here)… just an inference for humorous purposes! maybe a poor attempt at humor, but I made myself chuckle
not as much as you made me laugh though, so for that many thanks
