Shortly after being named the AFC Offensive Player of the Week, quarterback Peyton Manning also took home the FedEx Air NFL Player of the Week on Wednesday.
Manning was given the award for his performance in Week 17 against the Kansas City Chiefs, in which he completed 23-of-29 passes for 304 yards, three touchdowns and a passer rating of 144.8. He was pulled after the third quarter of the Broncos’ 11th straight victory, which is the second-longest win streak in team history.
His touchdowns in the game were to wide receivers Demaryius Thomas and Eric Decker (twice).
The nomination for the award was Manning’s fifth of the year and second in as many weeks, but it is his first time winning it in 2012. He beat out his brother and New York Giants quarterback Eli Manning and Vikings quarterback Christian Ponder, who were also nominated.
In 2012, Manning set franchise single-season records in passing yards (4,659), completions (400-of-583), completion percentage (68.6) and touchdowns (37), while throwing just 11 interceptions.
For winning the weekly award, FedEx will make a $2,000 donation in Manning’s name to the local area offices of Junior Achievement in Denver and Washington D.C.. The funding is used to help U.S. small business development, by educating the next generation of entrepreneurs on how to start and grow their own businesses.

If he ends up a solid, three down starter he is worth a top pick. getting him lower would be considered incredible value.
Te’o is a Samoan Warrior. Of course, nothing in life is a sure thing, but I wouldn’t bet against this kid..
I wouldn’t mind trading back again, seems to be a pretty good strategy. Trading up is a risky proposition, and if you miss, you really put yourself in a tough spot. That stradegy over time leaves a team with a lack quality depth IMO.
The draft is a crap shoot. More shos equals better chances.
Anyone see Florida run a play that was a pitch option end aroud? That is creative for sure.
Te’o also had a 3.5 GPA. I’m a big fan of drafting smart players. Not only do they understand the play book better, but they typically understand how to be a professional, including taking care of their bodies, diet, etc.
Agreed OT. plus they know what kind of dedication you need to be good.
Later on all. 16-3. Life is good!
I used to be really high on Te’o but have been coming down…I still like the kid but see some things he needs to work on (of course) and doesnt seem as complete as I once thought.
I do like Barrett Jones if we go OL depth but with him being versatile enough to play any of the OL spots there are few teams selecting before us that can use him. Bears and Packers make the most sense. Both do a lot of plugging each week to figure out their OL and Jones would fit perfectly with that. Also they need OL help badly.
DT is our biggest need IMO and should be had first. Also need MLB WR OL depth and a bruiser RB. Not all has to be had in the draft of course as we can get some help in FA.
