A pair of Broncos are up for weekly awards following Denver’s 37-6 victory vs. Oakland in Week 4. Quarterback Peyton Manning is nominated for the FedEx Air Player of the Week and running back Willis McGahee is nominated for the FedEx Ground Player of the Week.
Manning completed 30-of-38 passes for 338 yards and three touchdowns and no interceptions for a passer rating of 130.0. Manning’s passer rating led all players in Week 4 and his 338 passing yards represented the 65th 300-yard passing game of his career to extend his NFL record.
McGahee rushed for 112 yards and one touchdown on 19 carries (5.9 avg.) against the Raiders. Sunday marked the 32nd career 100-yard rushing game to move past Steven Jackson as the NFL’s active leader in career 100-yard games.
Fans can vote for one player in each category on NFL.com/FedEx through 1 p.m. MDT on Friday to determine the FedEx Air & Ground NFL Players of the Week. The winners will be announced Friday on NFL Total Access on NFL Network and on NFL.com.
Fans will be voting for more than their favorite player. As part of the Air & Ground program and its commitment to small business owners, FedEx will support education efforts at Junior Achievement by making weekly $2,000 donations in each of the winning players’ names. The funding, allocated to local Junior Achievement area offices in that team’s city or state, is used to help U.S. small business development, by educating the next generation of entrepreneurs on how to start and grow their own businesses.
