Quarterback Peyton Manning’s remarkable comeback season has earned him the honor of AFC Offensive Player of the Year at the NFL 101 Awards.

The 12-time Pro Bowler was voted the recipient of the award by 101 members of the national media.

Great, now we’ll have to hear Ravens1 come on this blog and say how it should be Flacco as AFC OPOY.

I lived in baltimore for 23 years (am now a Colorado gal), went to Delaware just like Joe. absolutely love the Ravens (fanatical even). but Peyton Manning is no doubt one of the premier, elite quarterbacks ever in the NFL and so deserves this award. And if they have an award for the classiest, most professional, and best role model out there for young athletes or men, he should get that too.

    Congrats Peyton.

    Dear Season Ticket Holder:

I write this letter to summarize my thoughts on the 2012 season and to thank you for your tremendous support this year.

Saturday’s playoff loss to the Baltimore Ravens was a gut-wrenching disappointment for everyone who loves the Denver Broncos. It marked a bitter end to an otherwise successful season.

I feel terrible for our players, coaches and staff who put forth maximum effort throughout the year. They accomplished many great things while falling short of our ultimate goal.

But most importantly, my heart aches for you.

The energy and enthusiasm you provided us this past year were infectious and carried us to great accomplishments. Your passionate backing allowed us to ascend as the season progressed. To have it end so suddenly is certainly most painful for you.

As the owner of a football team that belongs to this region, city and the greatest fans in professional sports, I share and understand the deep disappointment that you still must feel today.

In the early stages of reflection, one thing stands clear—Your support is unwavering.

Since the day I bought this team through the moment you finished cheering your hearts out in the freezing cold of Saturday’s game, that has always been the case. Please know that I am humbled by this support and I am forever grateful for it.

I said publicly last year that I wanted 2012 to be a great season, not just a good season. We certainly had a very good season and perhaps exceeded a few expectations.

But Broncos fans, you and I know what a great season looks like.

That is why I’ll soon stop reflecting and start working on one thing for 2013—bringing another Super Bowl victory back to Denver. As we move forward, I am extremely optimistic with the future of our team.

From the bottom of my heart, I thank you for the passion, enthusiasm and overwhelming support you gave us this past season.

    Sincerely,
    Pat Bowlen

    Thanks sndvl!

    Pat Bowlen,

True Bronco fans know that these kind of seasons happen and we are glad to hear of your commitment to Bronco Country. Bringing Elway in as GM was significant to the success of this organization, not only in a business sense but he bleeds blue and orange. We look forward to the 2013 season with great enthusiasm. As a long time Bronco fan i saw this team work and gel together which is hard to accomplish in professional sports these days. I know they will work just as hard in the upcoming season because you have put together a team of competitors. It is fun to watch again. Keep up the good work and lets get that superbowl. GO BRONCOS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

When you look up class in the dictionary there’s no definition, just a picture of Pat Bowlen.

  12. alex4serg says:

Chargers hired mike McCoy. Somehow that doesn’t bother me too much.

  13. lonewolf7 says:

Congratulations Peyton, a well deserved acheivement once again.

Mr. Bowlen, all thanks to you and your leadership for this great season. We all know that it starts at the top, and you sir are the best at the top. Let’s keep this thing rolling again and I’ll be looking forward to what happens next. I wish you and the Broncos organization much succes in 2013.

    Go Broncos!

  14. horsepower1 says:

Agreed. Someone made the comment they were upset that McCoy interviewed during the Wildcard weekend. Why would he do that? I believe you show more commitment and professionalism waiting till the end of the season. McDaniels told that to other teams looking to interview him for a coach. He told them he was focused on winning a championship. Makes me wonder if McCoy was focused. Anyway, we need to hire someone who’s last name does’nt start with McSuck!

  15. OTbroncos says:

Nice letter from Bowlen, thanks for sharing sndvl. Tough loss no doubt, but we will get stronger. Part of the problem was how everyone jumped on our wangon, and gave the Ravens no shot. Same as 1996, never again. Together with trying to avenge that embarrassing loss, the Ravens had all the adversity on their side, and next year adversity will be ours! Bring on the haters, help fuel our fire!

  16. Olap2009 says:

Not with that 3rd and 7 called run he was not focused

  17. Irish Mason says:

Congratulations to Peyton! He really deserved the award! Incredible stats! Incredible comeback! Well Done! Proud that he’s our QB! Go Broncos!

  18. bigjoebronco says:

So many haters out there beyond BroncoNation pointing out Peyton’s shortcomings in the playoffs, but I’m so thankful he’s a Bronco. He’s a true leader of men. We’ve got some payback to hand out next season to Baltimore, New England, and Houston. Go Broncos!

  19. horsepower1 says:

It’s coming bigjoe and the NFL better look out for BRONCO COUNTRY!!!!!!!

  20. Tem99 says:

Way to go Peyton. You are so deserving. You are a great player, leader, and a great role model. You have so much class. I live in Illinois and would love to get to a Broncos game next year but feel it just may not happen. I so much want to see you play in person. Good luck to you and all the Broncos next year. You all are great!

  26. Golando says:

The BRONCOS were just warming up this year……….next year the gloves are coming off and everyone on the BRONCOS schedule better have dental insurance because you’re gonna get PUNCHED in the mouth!!! Hell of a job this year Mr. Manning!!! Kudos to you!!! SEMPER FI!!!

  27. powerbroncos says:

Well I follwed Peyton since Colleg. What you seen is ,just going to great. As for Tebow ,brother Peter, you know nothing about quarterbacks. Tebow throws like Pither in baseball. Whoos , we are playing footall. So tell Tebow to his real position, tightend or full back. Quartebacks, you need to study and learn. Not learn to study. So stepback and watch Peyton bring that Superbowl to Denver. I m from Houston ,pitaful. Kubiak and lazy Snob. PEYTON WILL BRING TROPHY HOME.

  28. 1pmanningfan says:

Living near Knoxville, Tn. I have followed Peyton’s career since 1994. I am a Vols fan, was a Colts fan from 1998-2011, and now I’m a loyal Broncos fan – all because of my hero Peyton Manning. My license plate actually says PM18FAN. Peyton deserves every accolade he has received. He is a man of faith who loves his God, his family and his friends. He is honorable, selfless and so generous. The playoff loss breaks my heart because he will undoubedly blame himself when it takes an entire team to lose or win any game. I’m glad that he is still receiving these honors for all his hard work and dedication. I know even better things will come next year. Sadly, my husband and I could drive to Indy each year for a game, but Denver is too far, so I have to make due with TV coverage. I long for the day when I can meet the great man himself. Congratulations Peyton! You deserve it!

GREAT JOB PEYTON!!! SB OR BUST NEXT YEAR!

  30. grammy4pmbronco says:

Awesome season, Peyton!!! You have turned me into a Bronco Football addict!!! John Elway was so wise to bring you to Denver. We’re so thankful that you agreed to play for the Broncos. You have brought so much knowledge, cohesiveness, pride and professionalism to this team…. both on the offense and defense teams!! It is evident that the entire team has an immense respect for you and also you for them. Thank you for sharing your expertise and wisdom with every team member. We used to live about 35 miles north of Indy, but moved to Denver in 1998. This is the first time, since Elway, that we Bronco fans truly believe we have a quarterback and team with the ability to win another Super Bowl. It is so refreshing and extremely exciting. You and the team have formed a great bond in a very short time and there is not a single doubt that next season you and the Broncos will win the Super Bowl. I believe that with all my heart.

In no way should you feel like you’re to blame for the lose of the game this last weekend. John Fox made you take a knee with 31 seconds and 2 time outs left in the game…. he lost this game for us. I have watched you play for years and you have made many miraculous plays in less time than that. There is no doubt that we would have won this game… if you had been given the chance to finish the 4th quarter. Please don’t take this lose personally!! You are such a humble and honorable man!! We are so proud of you and all the hard work you put into each practice and game. We are so honored to have you as our QB. Thank you!!! We pray that God will bless you and the whole team with good health and can hardly wait for the next season to start. Congratulations, Peyton!!! No one deserves this award more than you!!!

  31. FanFromIndy says:

Congratulations, Peyton! Truly all the best to you and I hope you and the Broncos win the Super Bowl next year! You will always be in our hearts here in Indiana. GO BRONCOS!

  32. calimanningfan says:

I think Peyton is a true leader, an elite quarterback, and overall one of the best role models around. It was difficult to see him leave the Colts so now I am a Denver fan along with a Colt fan. The loss against the Ravens was very hard to take but Peyton and the Broncos will only get better in 2013. Peyton deserves all the awards he gets!! Go BRONCOS!!

  33. Randi Perry says:

PEYTON IS, PARAMOUNT THE BEST QB IN HISTORY!!! THANKS INDY FOR THE STUPIDITY :-) GO PEYTON, ,,,GO BRONCOS!!! 2013 PEYTON’S YR.!!!
