Broncos executive John Elway doesn’t seem to mind those Kyle Orton trade rumors that are floating around.

Speaking on Sirius XM radio Tuesday, Elway said it is “hard to tell” if both Tim Tebow and Kyle Orton will be on the team’s roster in Week One, via Lindsay Jones of the Denver Post.

We don’t want to give anything away, but Tebow will be there.  That leaves Orton, who Elway says will compete with Tebow and Brady Quinn for playing time in training camp.

Elway pointed out that the new coaching staff hasn’t even seen the players in action live, so it’s too early to assume anything.  His comments make it sound like Orton will be available.

Like everything, Denver’s situation is lockout dependent. Let’s say teams only get 2-3 weeks to prepare for the season.   Orton would seemingly have a better chance of sticking around in that scenario. ―Gregg Rosenthal

Of course this is just rumor talk but I like how Elway is a straight shooter, this is stuff fans want the inside track on. The new transparency the Broncos have shown makes me feel more inclusive as a fan especially during this downtime.

Too bad I can’t get into that twitter link.

Anyhow, this is how I see it, and I don’t need to hear what Elway has to say since I can just go by what he did:

Got two TEs in the draft for esay outlets just for Tebow.

Got a right OT in Franklin just to cover Tebow’s blindside.

So who would honestly think Elway is leaning towards going with Orton.

Let’s get real here, it’s not even an issue anymore.

The investments have been made strictly with Tebow in mind.

  4. baylinorcrush says:

    easy

  5. baylinorcrush says:

However unfair that maybe, in the end Orton will always be remembered as McD’s man and nothing else. Shanny no Orton, McD Orton, Elway no Orton. Anything else and I would be floored, even if there is no off season, I used to think that Orton might have a better shot at it if there was no off season like many still think, not anymore, not after seeing what happened in our draft, it has to be Tebow no matter what, is how I see it all now. The fog in my crystal ball has lifted about that whole Tebow/Orton issue.

  6. baylinorcrush says:

Regardless of whether there is an off season or not, Elway has to find out this season whether Tebow is the man long term or not, because Luck and other good QBs will be up in next year’s draft. And Elway already knows Orton is not it long term. It leaves no other option but to start Tebow.

Man, I can even convince myself sometimes, haha.

  7. BroncoRoyaltyEst.1979 says:

The link is weak any way you just copy the entire thing and put into your browser, there’s just nothing else to talk about so I wanted to post something about the Broncos. The only other news is about the lockout…

  8. baylinorcrush says:

Ok, I see, the tweet is just what you had spelled out already anyway.

  9. BroncoRoyaltyEst.1979 says:

And not hard news about the lock out just obvious stuff (kinda like article I posted) about how 19% of fans polled that they will not be watching at least part of the season this year. lol There is nothing to report really…

  10. baylinorcrush says:

The Dawkins organized workout we talked about on last page was a good start, and tomorrow they will have their second one. Will Tebow be there with Orton? See, there is always something to talk about for idiots like me, haha.

  11. BroncoRoyaltyEst.1979 says:

*The article I posted at 7:36

man I woke up too early this morning I was awoken by bad dream around 3:45 am haven’t been able to go back to sleep since…

  12. baylinorcrush says:

I am wide awake, as in everyday I wake up at 6 am because it’s impossible for me to stay in bed any longer because of all the body parts aches and pains….

  13. BroncoRoyaltyEst.1979 says:

awaken* woken up* lol i’m going to try and see if I can get it together i’ll be back in awhile ttyl bay…

  14. brian_schneider says:

Call me a pessimist, but if Tebow doesn’t succeed it won’t because he didn’t give it his all. Fox, Elway, and Xanders are definitely setting a cast to help support Tebow.

  15. potter381 says:

Hey guys, no news to speak of so I thought i would give a random twitter update again. Orlando Franklin has been working out with Dumervil in Miami. Franklin said Elvis is a monster in the weight room. So hope that mean Doom is going to be be in top Phillip Rivers crushing form.

  16. broncosfreak30 says:

While I could see White in as FB, I really could never see Ball in there as FB. He is too pint sized and short to be a fullback and be a great blocker! I swear, when he did run the ball last season when Moreno either needed a break or was hurt, he had some big holes to run through but just wasn’t fast enough to get all the way through them or to break tackles.

  17. baylinorcrush says:

You are right, Ball is too small, don’t know what I was thinking, I guess he looks stout, but on a 5″9″ frame it’s easy to do at 220 lbs, plus I don’t like him at RB so I was thinking he could maybe help somewhere else, and he has terrible hands to boot so I guess we’ll just have to dump him, sorry Ball. Man our RBs/FBs are just as thin as our DTs, look for major influx at those positions if FA ever gets here.

  18. baylinorcrush says:

I was noticing this kid named McLaughlin on our roster, he could be FB material:

McLaughlin, Mike RB 6-0 245 2 years Boston College

  19. baylinorcrush says:

Fox used to carry 3 FBs in Carolina is why I keep going there. Larsen, White and McLaughlin?

  20. 1nOnlyTRB says:

I see freak beat me too it lol. But the other reason Ball can’t play FB is cuz he flat out sucks. He can barely run the rock but also he has the WORST hands I have ever seen. It started in preseason and lasted all through the year till when Tebow was playing. He could’t catch a pass if his life depended on it. He is a liability because last year he dropped a bunch of touch down, first downs and dump offs. I personally think there is no space for him on the roster. Lendale as FB on the other hand. All for it. Thats how I use him in Madden.

Joe Mays is big and short like Bay said. Always has been but i was impressed. Lmao @ he looks part hulk. The man is like pure Muscle. I dont think he even has a neck lol. In the work out video at the begining when they did thier leg shuffles and then immediately took off in a run, man Vaughn was already way ahead of them. That boy is fast lol. I look forward to seeing him return kicks and punts next year. TRB out…

  21. baylinorcrush says:

And I re-beat you to it, LMAO!

  22. potter381 says:

I like White as a FB. He could put a little of the weight he lost back on and turn back into the bowling ball he use to be. Decent hands too.

  23. baylinorcrush says:

I looked up McLaughlin and in his senior year his position1 was ILB and his position2 FB. Interesting…..

  24. baylinorcrush says:

And he is a white dude, Larsen2 ? LOL.

  25. strandoftds says:

There is a good chance that Lendale might play FB for us, but we do need another big body at the FB position. We`ll see what happens when FA hits.

  26. strandoftds says:

It`s snowing here. Yesterday it was in the 70`s. Colorado weather is a funny thing.

  27. baylinorcrush says:

    It’s 92 here, same old.

  28. strandoftds says:

I`ll be out in Texas for the 4th of July week. Looking forward to it. I bought my plain tickets yesterday.

  29. strandoftds says:

    Plane tickets. HaHa!!

  30. Atwater4HOF says:

Haven’t got a chance to read all of the comments since the draft but I think there is some great talent left in the undrafted free agent pool.

A dynamic playmaker like Noel Devine out of WVU, provides a Sproles like addition to our special teams and 4-5 carries a game as a RB. How Jacquizz Rodgers was rated so much higher than Devine is mind-boggling to me.

A short yardage back like John Clay out of WIS. I don’t like the Maroney situation and I think Lendell White coming off injuy and his history of not staying in shape is something to rid ourselves of.

On the Defensive side of the ball I am still curious as to why Mark Herzlich was undrafted. Not great speed but the intangibles and leadership would be a great addition to the team. He would help on special teams instantly and provide great depth at strong side backer.

Brandon Bair out of Oregon is huge, and has a lot of room to add muscle. With some development I think he could be a great 4-3 end or even tackle if he is abe to get closer to the 300lb mark

  31. baylinorcrush says:

Have a good Texas vacation then! Get near some water to cool off, I’ll be on the lake for the fireworks.

  32. strandoftds says:

I`d be for signing Mark Herzlich. Give him a year under his belt and he should be back 100%.

  33. baylinorcrush says:

Unfortunately undrafted FA is something that will have to wait until there is a cba or something. No one can be brought in as is.

  34. strandoftds says:

A three day camping/canoo trip after the 4th as well out there. So lots of water and fishing too.

  35. baylinorcrush says:

Great, floating on the water with a beer cooler on a scorching day, hard to beat.

  36. 1nOnlyTRB says:

So it would seem bay. you also beat me to it talking about his suspect hands lol.

Atwater I have said the same about Noel Devine and Derrick Locke. They are game changers. They don’t ALWAYS have to work, but when they do its a thing of beauty and an easy score. Kinda like a X factor. Good change of pace. BTW Jaquizz Rodgers was ahead of Noel because of “character concerns” …. Noel is better. Just like LaGarrette Blount was like the best RB last year but went undrafted for punching someone. Guys like Noel Devine or John Clay will probably be this year Blount. John Clay can play FB for us anytime tho lol. Is it just me or are FBs always alson ILB hybrids? lol

  37. Atwater4HOF says:

That’s funny about the character concerns… before his toe injury Devine was a 2nd round projected back as a Junior. Stays a year, gets hurt and goes undrafted as character concerns arise. The kid had a rough childhood with parents dying of AIDS at an early age unfortunately.

I’m a little bias because I go to WVU but Devine is a weight room freak and was actually one of the strongest players on the team last season regardless of position.

Yes I understand that undrafted players can’t be signed right now but its still something to examine because there are some players out there with talent. I’d love a backfield of Moreno, Clay, Devine, and Larsen at FB. Young fresh legs.

  38. 1nOnlyTRB says:

Atwater, yea i know, he is a strong dude for such a lil fellow put up 24 reps in the combine and i remember teasing Dareus fans that Devine put up as much as Dareus.

Forbes Top 10 Most Influential Athletes List Includes Tim Tebow

He was ranked number 10. if you ask me he shoulda been ranked number 1 lol. TRB out…

  39. 1nOnlyTRB says:
