During Tuesday’s morning practice, guard Chris Kuper suffered a left forearm fracture. He is expected to fully recover within four to six weeks.
Kuper was in the process of returning to the lineup after recovering from an injury suffered in Week 17 of the 2011 season. As he worked his way back to the first unit, he often split reps at right guard with Manny Ramirez, a sixth-year lineman who has started 15 of his 20 NFL games played.
If Kuper returns in four weeks, he would presumably be part of the team’s preparation for its Week 2, Monday Night Football matchup in Atlanta. Six weeks from today is Sept. 25, leading up to the Broncos’ Week 4 home game against the Oakland Raiders.
Kuper was one of three players who left Tuesday’s practice early, along with running back Ronnie Hillman (hamstring) and defensive end Jason Hunter (triceps).
In addition, safety Jim Leonhard (knee), safety Quinton Carter (hamstring and knee), linebacker Keith Brooking (hamstring), cornerback Tracy Porter (illness), linebacker Danny Trevathan (ankle) and wide receiver Tyler Grisham (knee) did not participate in Tuesday’s practice. Defensive tackle Ty Warren was excused for “a family situation.”
“You’re concerned about all of them — you’d like them out there because this is how we get better,” Fox said of the injured players before the severity of Kuper’s injury was announced. “But we take a next-man-up approach, and it gives the guys behind them an opportunity.”

Just heal up big guy. Be there in time for the faiders.
Thx OSS. I can barely remember making those BBBP’s, it must have been awhile ago.. Saying Moore and Carter will be “solid players” sounds a bit weak and pretty vague IMO. I should have gone all in, and said they will be our starting safety tandem by seasons end. I might have to eat that Willis one, and I’m happy to be wrong if he steps it up, let’s see if he can do it when it counts!
Great article about Omon in the DP today. I really hope this kid makes the team this year, and the fact that he was with the Jets briefly is great – if this kid blows up to stardom, I can’t wait to call into NY sports radio to rub it in for all the Jets fans! For the record, I’ve never been a fan of Cedric Benson before, and I’m not sure why all of a sudden I’m saying he’ll do well. I think it’s b/c he’s a tough physical runner who is durable. Perhaps Omon can be this guy for us??

Have a great day Broncos Country! I hope we have another solid day of practice!
Morning OT and my breakfast club delinquints!
Yeah, that was a great read about Oman in the DP. Makes me want to really root for the guy……….and we possibly have a real diamond in the rough there waiting to shine. I think he’ll get plenty opportunity to prove himself, specially since Hillman can’t go. Could possibly take over the number 3 spot. I’m very interested to see how our RB situation plays itself out.
Watched a great interview with PM last night………the one he had with Trey Wingo on ESPN.
http://espn.go.com/video/clip?id=8269165&categoryid=2378529
Kinda getting tired of hearing the same questions asked to PM…………..so I’m sure he’s starting to tire of them as well. But oh well, it’s the media so what do you expect. I loved his answer to Trey asking him about advice to rookie QB’s. He was like, “I’m certainly not going to share that type of stuff in an interview with Trey Wingo, that’s a personal conversation.” Not his exact words but something along those lines……………it was a great zinger regardless and made me laugh! haha
Sounded like a great practice yesterday except for the injuries………….looking forward to reading about today.
GO BRONCOS!
I’m so exceited because in 10 days I’ll actually get to watch a Broncos vs. 49ers preseason game on television!!!
hey brian………….long time no see man! Hope you’re doing well.
I get the fox feed from seattle on my digital cable, so I’ll be able to catch the game against the sea chickens on Sat………excited for that! We’ll get to see more of the number 1′s.
Looks like the San Fran game will feature the number 1′s the most……………Manning eluded to playing into the 3rd quarter in that one………….
Strand, that would be awesome! You’ll have to email me and let me know if you decide to go!!!
morning cat! did you check out that interview I posted?
killerkod, doing well thanks. Just took some time off over the summer with it being busy and all.
well, good to have ya back on the blog…………..looking forward to many conversations about the team and the wicked season we’re about to have!
Kod, Peyton is over it! And he is not his normal self. Not joking or smiling this week. ;( And he obviously doesn’t like fantasy football! And he doesn’t want to talk about Andrew Luck and I just feel bad for him because the last thing he needs is to listen to all that stupidity.
and the media keeps needling him about Eli too………….jeez. They’ll say anything to get a reaction sometimes.
Yup, looks like he’s down to strictly business……….which can’t be a bad thing for us!
It’s only because Eli and Peyton love each other and aren’t in constant conflict with each other. Good for them, they are both great role models.
love them in that football cops commercial. CLASSIC!
Kod, a wicked season it will be. HaHa!!
Indeed it will strand!!!
If we can get out of the gate and do well in those first tough 6 games, the league and media will have no choice but to look at our team as a serious threat. That’s arguably the toughest start to a season there is. We get through that, we’re in great shape cause we can only get better.
Starting 4-2 would put us in a great position………..and even at 2-4, we’re far from out of it.
Peyton means business!
Agreed.
Kod, I LMBO on that one! too funny.
I just watched the Peyton interview, good stuff.
I sure will Cat.
Sounds good, buddy! I cannot wait until Saturday!!!!
You`ll have a blast, you and your clan. AWESOME!!
Jason Hunter has a triceps tear. What Is all the sudden going on? I’m so sad!!!
Oh no! What in the world!
I hope its a slight tear. Yikes!
Next man up
http://www.denverpost.com/broncos/ci_21317581/broncos-jason-hunter-out-at-least-two-months
Dang it! He’s been my favorite at camp because he’s so snarky! LOL!
Thats a long time. Ouch!
wow………..he’s pretty much gone for the season. UGH! That’s just horrible news. And to do while hitting a sled is just depressing.
Oh well, every team has to deal with injuries either in camp or during the season so like strand said……….NEXT MAN UP! Time for Ayers to step up his game.
So Ayers is to replace Hunter. I`m not too concerned then, but what about depth behind Robert Ayers.
We gotta stop the bleeding.
New blog!
I agree, Strand. Robert will do just fine!
Somebody get him a Milk Service subscription!! Stat!!
that really sux cuz Kuper is a STUD.
