The Broncos on Monday designated linebacker Braxton Kelley as waived/injured.

The first-year player joined the Broncos as an undrafted free agent before the 2009 season, and spent his rookie campaign on the team’s practice squad.

At the University of Kentucky, Kelley amassed 287 tackles, 6.5 sacks, four forced fumbles, one fumble recovery and six pass breakups in 46 career games.

I had heard he got injured in camp, he was standing around and got hit by another player which injured him. Not sure though, Gray would you know?

  2. baylinorcrush says:

No major news, injuries are part of it, too bad for the kid, thankfully it happened to a PS player, tough league.

  3. BroncoAussie says:

Tore a ligament in his knee,

“It’s obviously a non-contact thing, and an accidental situation where we have bags out there actually to hold. … I don’t think the two that actually ran into each other even saw each other. That can happen, obviously. We certainly don’t want it to, but hopefully he’ll be fine.”

  4. baylinorcrush says:

Hurt slipping in the locker room, playing basketball, run down by a golf cart and now cut blocked while holding bags, WOW!

  5. baylinorcrush says:

Can’t wait until they play football games again, it seems a lot safer…

  6. BroncoAussie says:

Just can’t catch a break, or is that the other way round hmm?

Yeah he sucks to go out like that.

  7. BroncoAussie says:

Yes it does, the games seem way safer. Maybe they need full pads?

  8. baylinorcrush says:

It sure will be way different to see them in pads again, sure we saw some good stuff in the OTA’s but when the pads come on it’s a different game, much easier then to pick the men from the boys and make your cuts. Right now most of them probably look like they can cut it, but we know better, training camp, the first real test…

  9. BroncoAussie says:

Can not wait for TC but need to get the rooks signed and in camp.

  10. baylinorcrush says:

I don’t see that being a problem at all this year since our highest pick is #24 in the draft. Last year only Moreno signed late but he was #11, Ayers at #17 signed in time. If we don’t have them all signed, we’ve got some serious dinero problemo amigo.

  11. BeastFromEast92 says:

Wouldn’t surprise me if we didn’t get’em all signed, nothing the front office does surprises me anymore. They need to get their head outta their butts and get things done that need to be done…SIGN DOOM TO A BIG FAT LOOOOOOOOOOOONG CONTRACT…and I’ll be happier than I am now.

I guess the blog is fixed now,THANKS KYLE,I really apreciate it dude.

  13. BeastFromEast92 says:

Hate to see Kelley get hurt in practice,I watched him some in college, the guy has a lot of potential, maybe it’s not serious.

  14. BeastFromEast92 says:

This guy is a class act, what else can you say about the man,he’s a great role model too!!!!!!!!

Chicken little says- “Cheep Cheep Cheep”
The wolf will eat this all up.

In 4 years Elvis has (I believe) 43 sacks. An average of 10 per year.
    8.5 his rookie year
    12.5 sophmore season
    5 in his third year
And NFL leader in his 4th

So why cant he get 10 million per year for 5 or 6 years?
I dont want to hear Bowlen is in the red. Not with the stadium at capacity every home game and the TV money, shared revenue and all the other sources of income-(Luxury Suites).
No way DOOM will feel like he is being compensated fairly. And where will his motivation come from? Or any other player? Which is what I believe the point baylin is making. Now it makes perfect sense why season ticket prices werent increased….

    Chicken Little- “Cheep Cheep Cheep”
Wolf- “Snarl Growl Gulp” (followed by the sound of licking his chops)

  16. sndvl says:

With this new Rocky Mountain Patriot way, its not lookin good for #24.

Go figure, since his jersey is the one I bought last year.

  17. BroncoAussie says:

Sndvl he can’t get 10 mil a year because he isn’t good in run defense, that is his only knock, he is not bad but not elite, like other OLB, look at his tackle numbers compared to a guy like Demarcus Ware or James Harrison.

That is another reason why this contract talk has been handled up, because Dumervil isn’t a complete OLB like others, he is a push rushing freak but what about the rest of his game. So what do you pay for a push rushing OLB?

  18. BroncoAussie says:

    pass*

  19. samoanbronco says:

    held*

  20. BroncoAussie says:

Haha, bugger off samoan it was a long day and I was tired haha

  21. broncochick1 says:

Get Dumervile signed!!!! I was fine with Cutler… I was fine with Marshall… I was definately okay with Tony. However, Elvis needs to get a deal done for himself now. I am also concerned about the new rookies as well.

  22. baylinorcrush says:

Thanks sndvl for deciphering my thoughts, it can be a lonely place out here, feels like I was on an island by my ownself yesterday, other than you and a select few, most everyone is buying the Doom handling of his contract by the front office as business as usual, a lot of boot lickers afraid to speak their mind is all I can figure, or otherwise ostriches whith their heads in the sand… (BTW, the chicken and the wolf references allowed me the bootlicker and ostrich references, LOL)

  23. KnowshonForSure says:

according to Klis Elvis looking for top 5 LB money, when i say Doom i mean his agent

  24. BeastFromEast92 says:

I still say give Doom his 6 year/60 mil contract, without him we’re mediocre at best rushing the passer, with the rest of the Defense supposidly getting better, the last thing we need is to lose our best pass rusher. For God sake he’s a true DE converted to a hybrid OLB,he’s been in the league 4 years and only gotten better each year, how many DE do you know that can cover passes,he will learn pass coverage, and then he will be an above average total package.Just one man’s opinion that don’t mean a Helluva lot.

    BFE

    PS:No bootlicker here,like what I say or don’t like it,I could care less,give the man his $$$$$$$$$$$$,simple!!!!!!!!!!

  25. baylinorcrush says:

BFE, I know, you’re like the Anti-Bootlicker, LOL.

  26. baylinorcrush says:

Also sorry I forgot to mention you also have my back on the Doom issue.

  27. baylinorcrush says:

This is what Klis said of Dumervil back October 7 of last year:

With all the money NFL teams waste on scouting, perhaps some of it could be transferred to players like Elvis Dumervil. The No. 1 pick in the 2006 draft was defensive end Mario Williams. Houston gave him a six-year contract worth $54 million. To date, Williams has 32.5 sacks in 52 games. Way back in the fourth round of the same draft, with the No. 126 overall pick, Dumervil was selected. The Broncos gave Dumervil a four-year deal worth $2 million. He has 34 sacks in 49 games. Thus, Dumervil has nearly two more sacks in three fewer games for $52 million less than the pass rusher drafted 125 picks ahead of him.

Thus it is grand time to make things right by the man, not only to pay him for the next few years, but to reward him for the output he has already produced at a NFL cellar type salary. Nuff said.

  28. KnowshonForSure says:

Unfortunately for elvis he was drafted in the 4th and not the 1st. thats the reason for him being underpayed the 1st 4 years. Hopefully the rooklie pay scale gets fixed for next year. Im sure theres 100s of example like the one you posted Baylin, ex: Chris Johnson (titans). Dont get me wrong I want Doom signed just as bad as anyone else, I just think as long as he is signed before TC starts it will all be fine, Doom doesn’t seem to bothered, so why should I get bothered.

  29. baylinorcrush says:

I hear you KFS, but if Bailey is bothered by it, it’s worth it to me to be bothered too, just saying.

  30. KnowshonForSure says:

Hey Baylin I have a question for you, you probably know this. Fist off i love the mess AJ Smith is making with Vincent Jackson and McNeil in SD. But we all know Jackson is going to be suspended for his 2 DUI, does suspension count during his holdout, or would that suspension take place when he returns, just wondering. TY in advance for ur answer. That goes for anybody who knows the answer.

  31. baylinorcrush says:

I don’t see how in the world a holdout would count against a suspension, a suspension is meant to be a punishment, if it was served during a holdout it would hold no punishment value whatsoever. After the holdout ends, the suspension begins would be the only thing that would make sense, don’t know the specific of the NFL rules regarding that, but I would be shocked if a suspension could take place during a holdout, just my opinion.

  32. KnowshonForSure says:

thats what i figured, just making sure. TY. I hope he sits out a long time then gets suspendes another while, cant hurt us if he does, lol. although will kick SD arse whether he is on the field or not.

  33. sndvl says:

nice info on Williams vs Dumervil baylin!

So TD was a 6th round pick. That didnt stop him from cashing in. DUE TO HIS PRODUCTION ON THE FIELD.
I think his tackle totals are a little misleading.
Due to his unique build, he has the uncanny ability to get to the QB.
I am curious to see what the numbers are on Dumervil if you keep track of Pressures and Knockdowns too. Forcing the QB to get rid of the ball before he wants to or causing him to be off balance or flinch, thats making plays as well. It also gives the second level a chance to make a play. Im sure if Dumervil was asked to focus on stopping the run, he would be just fine. But thats not his strength…just like TD’s wasnt making tackles after an INT.

    PAY DOOM

  34. strandoftds says:

Well said sndvl on the other aspects of defence. Pressures, hurry`s, knockdowns, and tipped balls whatever the situation, it all counts in the big picture. Now lets pay Doom real money. He deserve`s it.

  35. Yovi21 says:

I’d personally like to see Elvis get his money, he defiantly deserves it! I really hope jackson and Mcneil stick it out those 10 games, the chargers would be in some serious trouble without those two!!!

also, does anyone else think it would be cool to see us wear our 80′s jerseys at a home game sometime?
