Broncos Executive Vice President of Football Operations John Elway talked about Denver’s 24-22 victory over Cincinnati during the John Elway show, which airs live at 6 p.m. each Monday on 9 News KUSA-TV, the Broncos partner station.
“I think it’s hard to explain how important it was,” Elway said of the win. “Obviously with the loss last week, our first two games were at home, and it was important for us to at least get out of here with one, after what happened last week. It was tremendously satisfying and I think with everything that came about and how the game went, I think it’s a real tribute to all the players. It was the next guy in and they stepped up and figured out a way to win.”
Elway gave credit to the coaching staff and to the team for adapting to the injuries that occurred during the game and adhering to Head Coach John Fox’s ‘next man up’ philosophy.
“The offensive staff did a tremendous job of adjusting and everyone filling in at the right time, so really the credit goes to the coaches,” he said.
DenverBroncos.com will debut a live online-streamed audio show with Elway Tuesday at 2 p.m. MT. The 30-minute show, hosted by Broncos TV’s Chris Hall, will feature questions from fans for Elway. Questions will be taken via Twitter – to submit your questions, tweet using #ElwayLive.
The broadcast will then be archived to DenverBroncos.com, and will also be available through iTunes.

Crazy stuff so Jamaal Charles is hurt, (There goes someones 1st round draft pick) so I was thinking of picking up dexter mccluster … but he is listed on chiefs depth chart and as a result NFL.com fantasy as a WR …. ahahahahaha so can’t even play the man at RB … but he may be a pretty wicked fantasy WR because he runs so much lol. It just makes no sense … the guy is listed as a WR but he runs the ball all the time, and has a RBs/DBs number … how have they been able to get away with that for so long. I though it was a rule to change your number to whats acceptable for your postion … maybe its not a rule but an understanding … but im pretty sure its a rule lol. TRB
I keep hearing about Fox’s next man up “philosophy” but I can’t think of any coach who doesn’t go by that, I mean they all have to, McD used to talk about, Shanny, every coach in the league, so in all honesty I fail to see that attitude being a big Fox signature coaching move or any other coach for that matter. That’s just weird. It’s the only way you can be in the NFL since every team loses player, I never heard of a coach saying we are in trouble because we lost this or that starter, that’s just a coach’s job, maybe I’m missing something but what.
Hey, Bay I saw what you wrote in response to my comment on an earlier blog. Just wanted to let you know I have no issue with anyone having concerns going into the future. I have them myself. It was more directed at the bloggers who are coming out of the woodwork going nuts with the negativity. Last night on that same blog I posted on it was really prevalent and I saw a couple bloggers doing it again this morning. As someone who has got a little too fired up a couple times I know what it looks like haha. And some folks need to chill because they are not going to change anything “yelling” via blog haha. Trust me I have my questions for this Bronco team and it definitely is not all rosy.
I know, it’s PR but still, what are we, two year olds? I got one I’m taking care of right now, beautiful granddaughter and I can assure you we’re nothing like two year olds, LOL.
Don’t be afraid to call them out, armadillo is the master at overkill, but that’s just the way he goes about things, I just learned to tone it down for mysel when I read him, because he sure can’t, loud as a mother, LOL.
Don’t know about that, every time you don’t get your way you throw a tantrum Bay. Maybe people aren’t posting because they are tired of your negativity. You need help.
You are a sick puppy, nothing ever better for you than to trash me, what a life you must not have….
Hopefully someone in the blog administration will catch on and ban you little insignificant self.
Wow!
Imready may be wrong for saying what he said. However, he isn’t completely off base.
Two year olds? This coming from the guy who nicknamed me Ortons sister, which I get a kick out of, but childish none the less!
As far as armadillo, he just really likes Tebow. I understand where he’s coming from. I was the same way a year ago…I finally got my wish!!!!!!!!
Who knows what’s gonna happen though. That’s the beauty of this week. Our opponent lost in week 1 (to a team with a QQ of their own) only to come back week 2 and put it on the team that had arguably the best win in week 1. (I say that because blitzburg is no patsy). We lose week 1, when we had the chance to win. Lost key players for week 2 playing with our “lack of quality depth” (not my words but have seen it on here plenty) and grind out a tough, hard fought game, getting that 1st W! “Yeah, yeah it’s only the Bengals. I don’t know what everybody is getting excited about”. Well, those Bengals won in comeback fashion in week 1 and shut down a premier running back in the process.
This is why the NFL is so popular!
Fans being passionate about their favorite team. There is a reason the term “fan” is short for fanatic.
Lets talk football again.. If you give you have got to be prepared to take but it is uninteresting to see what some people think of others on this blog – specially when it gets nasty. We can’t all agree and you can’t force people to think exactly like you do….
For those of you that has left the last blog, I apologized for my crazed antics last night. I was haveing flash backs when I saw mcdaniels on tv but anyways hope everyone excepts my apology, hopefully we can just move forward and talk more football, again my bad bay.
Broncos got lucky to win, Orton still a joke, he will never take the Broncos to the playoffs. He is not the future QB of this team, Tebow is way better. Elway just one ? you watched Tebow in the last 3 games of the season last year, you had to ,so you were going to trade Orton so Tebow could start right. well how could you change your mind so fast something not right here. When I watched you play you were fun to watch and so is Tebow and Orton I know there’s no chance win when he is playing unless they get lucky like last Sunday the Bengals c’mon we almost lost that game. A SAD BRONCO FAN
