Via his Twitter account, Executive Vice President of Football Operations John Elway commented on the team’s visit with free agent quarterback Peyton Manning today in North Carolina.
“We enjoyed visiting with Peyton today in N.C.,” Elway wrote. “He threw the ball great and looked very comfortable out there.
“Watching him throw today was the next step in this important process for our team and Peyton,” he continued. “It was a productive visit and went well.”

I think if Manning really wants to win he will. If he doesnt then he just wants money.
Man no upsets today in College BB huh
The great thing about this situation is that if we get Manning then we are going to be good for three years. And if we don’t get Manning we will stink it up for two years possibly and then be great. Either outcome looks good to me, can’t really lose.
Z yeah thanks for bringing that up lol i only lost 175 on that today! Man i am not to happy about it. I hate having to pay up to my dad Girlfriend and brother. Nothing sucks more!
lol yup, I cleaned house at work on the Broncos Steelers, cus no one gave us a shot freaking loved it. Then I turned around and lost it all vs the Patriots ah well
Lol I lost 500 bucks on the Pats game. I picked Denver to loose but not by that much. I said no more than 10 points….Boy was i wrong. I picked up almost a grand on Pitt and Denver. So at least i had a profit on that
Peyton Manning starting QB in Denver for the next 3 years, and sorry to say TT will be history….Elway wants a conventional pocket passer, something that TT will never be…my support goes to EFX…remember…no player is bigger than the team…JE will forever be my HERO!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I hope all the Manning haters will jump on the P-DOG wagon when we win the SB next year!!!!!!!!!!
BFE
alex………giv’em Hell bro!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
3:00AM in the East……………..
Hey blog administrator….please fix the blog clock!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
11 in AK. Lol
YO…. EFX?!?!
WHERE’S THE BEEF!!!!! Jason Jones signed with the Seahawks… Spluh…
Theres really only LBs left on the D side of the ball….Hayes, McClain, Wimbley. Oh and Trufant…..To many holes to focus this long on one guy who may or may not be as good as he was.
I would rather see Manning get paid 12 mil and win than 18 mil and sit on the bench from injury or play like Farve did at the end….Underpaying is ALWAYS better than overpaying.
broncos could use sum fets like london flether or james farrior or arron smith on the dline if he could stay healthy could be solid. But wallace would come to denver who is going to throw to him?? john elway
No to Wallace to Denver! A lot of Money and a Pick!
heyyyy danng zibkowski or what ever went to the colts ??!??!?!?!? why couldnt we sign him he woulda been a nice add on. he was tough and had to play behind ed reed.
Plus hes a boxer. Zibkowski is a tough SOB.
Man, the chiefs really made some quality moves so far… signing CB, RB, TE and OL… they have the 11th pick, maybe they take Poe now… SUCKS
BT SD has made some moves too even the Raiders and what are we doing as every team in the division gets better?…….
We meanwhile have managed to ‘Move’ to third in a three horse Race to sign Peyton Manning…. Nice work FO… way to build some confidence in the fan base and bring in a Roster full of quality players… Kudo’s
Hey now the did sign a Safety…..Lol……
Maybe we plan on filling out the Roster with College FA’s mostly… that’s a good strategy also considering we find ONE every year that makes the Roster…
I’m so frustrated right now…
*Plan on filling out the Training camp Roster… sorry for the confusion
Your not the only one. I know we dont spend big in FA but normally we dont just sign one guy this far into it. UDFAs what a way to make a team. But BT remember if we get Manning we are automatically SB contenders.
Despite our many holes on the D.
Well guys looks like we are not going to get Manning like I feared all along once we got into this crap during free agency. Manning and EFX screwed us out of getting players in one of the best FA class in a very long time. way to go.
Alex Smith visiting Dolphins. Interesting…..
http://blogs.palmbeachpost.com/thedailydolphin/2012/03/18/report-former-49ers-quarterback-alex-smith-visiting-miami-dolphins-today/
Blog Administrator……time has switched to Daylight Savings Time. Would love to see you guys switch over as well. Thanks.
The sad part about all of this PM mess is that wheather or not we get him, we have already damage the team by not being active in the FA. The 49ers and Titans will still be considered WINNERS because at least they still added pieces to their puzzle. Making them not only contenders in their prospective divisions but for their conference championships as well.
Yet we still keep talking about ” How PM will make us SB contenders!” when the real question is how are we going to beat the Real beast of the AFC…PATRIOTS!
They have quietly added more pieces to their offense and got significantly younger on the defensive side. PM will not have anyone to throw the ball to if we sign him! He will require at least a veteran presence in his offense. All other contenders that we know of have quality receivers..we only have youth in the receiving core. What are we going to add, More rookie receivers in the draft! Manning has made his decision already on Tuesday when he secretly worked out for the 49ers. They added players everywhere on both side of the ball. The only thing that bothers him is that if he goes to the NFC, He will beat his little brother down when his new offense in SF has the likes of Gore, Davis, Moss, Manningham and Crabtree. How can we compare that with Willis/Moreno, Decker, Thomas…I cannot even add a TE to our mix cause we have not even signed our own to begin with
I dont see why PM will come to denver when we have gone from 1st in the division to last. I do believe that PM wants to WIN NOW and not 3 years from now. If the Broncos FO claim that they want to WIN NOW, then start showing PM that you are gonna bring in FA and SIGN THEM RIGHT AWAY! and make TRADES TODAY before HE DECIDES ON MONDAY. I was happy when we won the Division…Even thought it was UGLY but WE WON!! It also gave me and many of you TRUE BRONCOS FANS!! HOPE FOR THE FUTURE and that we were HEADED IN THE RIGHT DIRECTION. Now it seems as if MCD has being calling JE behind our backs and giving him advise on how to be a GM.
I want to see our boys win the division again and not here the rest of the league say..IT WAS A FLUKE!! Wheather we get PM or not, or Alex Smith or TT or Flynn…I say, makes some moves now before its too late!!
Well I see that this whole Manning thing just keeps getting pushed back further and further, this week, no this weekend, no next week. I know you don’t want to rush into making a decision but if you truly don’t know when you’ll make your decisions say that then. Say there is not time table on this matter.
I’m a little more upset at the fact that with all the areas we need help we couldn’t land some players in FA. It really pisses me off, because EFX were preaching, get better through the draft and fill in gaps in FA. We haven’t filled in any gaps in FA!
Yeah, what the front office has done is deflate any hope that we had from last year (TT). And make a mockery of the way this organization operates. Every year it’s the same old story, everyone knows what we need but we never go out and get it. I think any other team with the turnaround we had last year would take this and run, not run away from it.
The rumor mill is spinning at full force. Take this for what it’s worth, or leave it. If there is any validity to it, I personally can’t blame Tebow one bit, and would feel the same, if it were me instead of him. This “source” is unknown to me.

“Source: Tebow wants out of Denver; Expected to request a trade after Manning decision.”
“I was contacted tonight by a source who I used to talk to regularly, but haven’t heard from in awhile. He’s a guy who had given me some good information in the past, and I fully trust the information he’s relayed to me tonight.
To cut straight to the point, he’s told me that information he’s received today says that regardless of how this Manning situation turns out, Tebow will be asking for a trade once the dust clears and Manning has made a decision. He’s not asking to go to a specific team, and he does not require a starting role. The source says that he’s disappointed that the Broncos are not showing any confidence in him, and he’s being advised that he’d be better off in another organization.
The source says Tebow is currently being tight-lipped about this – he’s wanted to go public but his advisors have told him to wait until the smoke clears on the Manning situation.”
Story is clearly developing…
I feel like an Ostrich… with my only choice being to stick my head in the sand until this is all over with…
If not getting Peyton has cost us Tebow then I’d say that we have failed 100% so far this offseason… I’m getting fed up with this…
I don’t WANT to believe that report Tide… but it’s hard to dismiss the facts after TT has been stepped on a couple times now by ‘The guy who’s about to lose us Tebow’…
If you guys get what you want, and Tebow goes don’t expect any mercy from me next season when we are 5-11 because we are forced to start a second tier QB cause that’s all that remains available or a Rookie QB that comes after the 2nd round… You are about to get a good lesson about the reality that is NFL… but thanks for helping!!!
Well if we don’t get Peyton and OUR QB leaves then who will we put on our season ticket brochure? Maybe Adam Weber. LMAO…They used our QB last year for ticket sales and I wouldn’t put it past them to deny his release just to put him on the brochure again. NICE Denver, all he ever wanted was to go to a team that believed in him.
Manning and Tebow have the same Agent dont they?
Same agency different agent Millertime
Morning Turtle. It’s just rumor, as far as I’m concerned, until proven otherwise, but it has an element of plausibility. Like you, I’ll be glad when this is over and the fate of these three teams and their current quarterbacks are known. I just feel for the QB’s who have been caught up in this, but the ironic thing is Peyton, himself, just went through the same thing with the Colts. It’s just life in the NFL, and even though it’s just an integral part of it, it doesn’t make it easier on the guys involved. Even Alex Smith is trying to move on.
We’ll probably know something after Peyton and Ashley are done with their honeymooning.
WTF… Mark Sanchez is set to be paid 13.491M dollars next year or the 21st largest yearly contract of ALL TIME?
What Freakin Planet am I on?
http://www.nfl.com/photoessays/09000d5d827918e0/nfls-richest-players?module=HP11_content_stream#photo=21
and we passed on M. Williams at 16.67m but are reportedly ready to offer Peyton 3 years and 60M? or 20m a year? or the HIGHEST SINGLE SEASON SALARY EVER in the HISTORY OF THE NFL?
and you guys are OK with this? I really feel like I am living in BAZZARO WORLD…
Good God people…. This place reads like an obituary rather than an official Broncos blog…… Let me remind everyone that Tebow is under contract, so even if he does in fact request a trade, it is simply that, a request…
I dont necessarily agree with waiting for Manning like we are, but I’m open minded enough to see the thought process behind it.. However, EFX is playing with fire with the Tebow situation.. While I’m not sure if he is ready right now (yes, he won games, but you can’t deny some of it was brutal, and last minute heroics is not a good game plan), I’m also not sure what his potential is yet.. Much like any investment, you try to sell at its highest value, and maybe our FO believes that is now for Tebow (any view of our FO is all speculation at this point), but I’m hesitant to part ways with him this young into his career, and also when considering the market for him will be weak IMO
yeah his coaches actually support him
I’ve hesitated to make any comments on the Manning Wheel of Fortune circus as it’s all been said and every opinion attacked no matter which side the opinion is on. If we get Manning, I can live with it. If we don’t I can live with that. The one thing that really bothers me about PM is his character. To go behind everybody’s back and work out secretly before you work out for the teams that have been heavily pursuing you leaves me with a very, very bad taste in my mouth. EFX are attempting to build a team that puts the team first and individual performance a distant second. PM’s secret visit tells one and all what his priotity is. I just want to puke!!!
Meanwhile, the guy that took our disaster of a team that was 4 and 14 without him over that past two seasons and went 9-7 in his first 16 starts with a Division title and a playoff victory over two time Superbowl champion Ben Roethlisberger is being railroaded and it goes almost unnoticed… not to mention he took the team that was averaging less than 100 yards per game rushing to Number 1 in the League, that is not a coincidence…
TEBOW has all the talent he needs to succeed on the field… he simply needs a field to succeed on!!! KEEP HIM IN DENVER!!!
VON TEBOW FOOTBALL BABY…
…This is one of those ‘worst case scenario’ situations. If EFX misses out on Manning and Tebow wants out, then Denver is kinda back to square one. That would be disaterous…I hope that if Manning doesn’t pick the Broncos Tebow just continues on in the organization and trys to prove everyone wrong.
My only doubt about the fact that Tebow wants to leave is because there really isn’t a market for him. Tebow has to know that there is maybe only 1 team in the league that he could go to and start for (Jags) and they have already said that they are not really interested. Tebow might be angry, but he will have to put on his big boy pants because if he wants to play this season his best chance is by far and away in Denver!
I’m so sick of hearing that there would be no Market for Tebow…
T. Dungy has said many times on TV that if he was a coach he would want Tebow as his Starter… that’s coming from a guy that has coached Peyton Manning… There would be at least 3 teams that would be knocking themselves over to get Tebow, if for nothing else than to simply boost ticket and revenue and to Energize thier fan base…
Tebow is a Golden Goose that has made Bronco Football Worldwide in 15 months… and to dismiss all the secondary value that he has is to dismiss his real market value…
With Lloyd in NE together with their already potent passing attack, coupled with them having two draft picks in the first two rounds of the draft, no one is going to stop them… I think our FO is trying to put a team out there that can possibly keep up with them as far as points on the score board, something we fell miserably short of in the playoffs…. I’m not saying it’s the right course of action, I’m just trying to maybe shed some light on what the thought process of our FO might be..
When I say the market for Tebow will be weak, it’s not a shot to Tebow.. There are very few teams that have an opening at QB, and while I agree he puts fans in the seats and sells merchandise, but along with that comes a HUGE distraction for the organization… The whole nation saw how the fans in Denver forced the hand of the Broncos coaching staff to play Tebow, and I think some teams, that would have otherwise been interested in him, may shy away for this reason… Just my opinion..
Fair OT… I however believe that the fans are delusional in thinking that anything but Kyle Orton’s Poor performance had anything to do with TT getting his shot… we really have no imput, but they placate us like we do… Not a single coach ever said Tebow was not the back-up… only Brady and people watching parts of practices…
It is a circus for sure, and that would definitely have to be an FO consideration…
*input Eeesh… that word two times in two days…
OT, if Tebow leaves Denver after all of this, as far as I’m concerned, it will be a VERY sad day. I like Peyton Manning as much as the next person, and totally get why they would want him, but from what I’ve read and heard (which most of us know is mostly opinion, rumor, gossip, innuendo, etc) Tebow was completely left out of the loop about all of this, and found out from his staff just as the news was made public. It has appeared as though any consideration by the Broncos organization for Tim was minuscule, or even non-existent, and that he is not much more than an afterthought in this whole process, because getting Manning was the main conquest, regardless of what it took and what the after effects were.
It has also been reported that Fox, Elway, Bowlen, and Xanders talked about the possibilities of getting Manning as soon as he was released from the Colts. Supposedly, the even weighed the repercussions of getting him, versus not getting him, but decided it was a gamble/risk/opportunity they “had” to make. I don’t fault them for that. But Geez!! Let your friggin’ starting QB know before he finds out from the media. I don’t give a crap how you look at it, or what you believe about Manning, or Elway, or anyone else in the organization, this was not handled well in regards to Tebow, and dang if I wouldn’t want to find another team, too. Even a back-up role for a team that supports him would be better than a doubtful starter status for a team that doesn’t believe in him, or really want him. They’ve made that abundantly clear since Elway took over and Fox was hired. Abundantly!
