With Wednesday marking the official start of training camp, several Broncos rookies received their first set of NFL uniform numbers. For most, this meant a change from a number that they had grown accustomed to dating back to their college – or even high school – debuts.
First-round selection Von Miller revealed that he will wear No. 58 this season when he met the media yesterday.
“I just felt like that was the number to go with,” Miller said. “I’m a big fan of (former Kansas City Chiefs LB) Derrick Thomas, and hopefully I can get some inspiration from that. He’s my favorite player, and I’m number 58.”
Below is a list of Broncos players who have newly confirmed numbers, including all nine drafted rookies and all 17 college free agents. Note that with the high volume of players on the roster, Mario Fannin and Deron Mayo will both wear No. 42, at least temporarily. In addition, Chris Harris is sporting the same number as running back Brandon Minor.

It’s probably just all for money reasons, losing bucks if you don’t show up, I think Orton is kind of cheap, he drives a prius or something.
Lol sweatherman!!! I’m gonna have to use that one.
Thanks too Oldsouthstander for your answer from the last thread. Can’t believe I missed that.
How bout “Orton-B-Goode”. Better Ort is, the better Tebow becomes. May as well make the most of this awkward situation and find a silver lining somewhere!
Yeah I agree Orton should have stayed home, but at least he’s not pouting and crying like Cutler did, shows some class!
Elway should trade Orton for a couple of 7th round picks and a case of beer. Denver would come out way ahead in the deal!
BFE, it’s funny most everything you are now reporting on the Orton deal from NFLN I reported here a few hours ago on the last blog.
LMAO@henryac
Cmon bay cheap? You of all bloggers should know, Prius is NOT a cheap ride.
Not say like Plummers rust bucket truck at least!
It may even be a Yaris, LOL.
A case of beer? What kind of beer? Could very well be the deal breaker
Yeah just relaying what NFL Network is acting like it’s new news when it’s old news,I’m turning the damn tv off!
LMAO@henryac
As long as it’s not Coors,LMAO.
It would have to be imported,at least from another state, lol.
Thanks BFE, I was starting to feel as if I was watching the NFLN too, haha. Definitely the slow news channel.
Since the Dolphins play at Land Shark Stadium, that would be my choice!
Lmao at imported from another state!
Coors is the Banquet of Beers and Rocky Mountain Brewed!
What comes outta Miami? Besides those Cuban cigars???
Funny, an answer before the question is asked, you guys are GOOD.
I was hoping to wake up to atleast one of these situations
- Orton traded
- Rich Eisen back on nfl network with lombardi
….and i didnt get either of my wishes -_-
BFE, little more info on what you posted earlier, please:
Elway says the Orton deal is an hour to hour thing!!!c’mon!
Bro at least it’s not Fran Charles and Jamie Pukes…Darren Horton is way better.
Alright bay,I heard it on NFL Netwok like 30 minutes ago, that’s all they said about it!
sndvl…they might have to meet somewhere in the middle on the case of beer, like St.Louis Mo…you know Anheiser Bush..Bud Light, lol.
Don’t like to hear what I’m hearing from Lombardi on NFLN right now. He said that the Orton to Miami thing has gone cold.
this is true
From LaConfora at NFL.com
Free-agent DT Daniel Muir is drawing interest from the Rams and Broncos, according to a league source.
Muir has been a starter with the Colts for the last two years and is exploring other options. He started 14 games last season and finished with 38 tackles.
Miami wants Orton for little or nothing!
Texans are front runners to get Asomugha, according to Lombardi.
Oakland wants Antonio Cromartie!
If the Miami thing falls apart, we are back at square one with the QQ, remember?
We have yet to make a splash in this pool of free agents, sooner or later we will have to, why not now before they are all gone?
The Broncos did sign offensive lineman Orlando Franklin, a 2011 second-round draft pick from Miami, this morning. That enabled him to begin practice with the rest of the team.
So I think that leaves only Miller to sign now.
No wonder Orton showed up for practice,it would cost him 30 grand if he didn’t!
Clady reportidly making 3 million this year,Lloyd making 2 million Broncos need to sign Clady long term!
I’m still baffled how Kolb is a higher commodity than Orton.
Glad we are getting our Rookies signed, just wished Orton was gone and we would land a good DT!
New blog, not earth shattering though, whatever we must move on to keep up with the Joneses, haha.
I’m wondering why the Cards are waiting for Miami to commit to Orton before they commit to Kolb!
New blog guys haha
Reviweing #1 practice. Orton looked like a #1. Tebow good until session with finding secondary receivers.. Quinn was sharp in all three sessions.
Like Fox said, if we played today it would be Kyle.
Maybe this trade is the best thing the Broncos have not done.
