1
When Quinton Carter intercepted Steelers quarterback Ben Roethlisberger on Sunday, he became the first Broncos rookie in franchise history to record a postseason interception. It was also the first of the rookie safety’s career.
2
Quarterback Tim Tebow became just the second player in NFL postseason history to pass for more than 300 yards and two touchdowns without an interception, and also run for 50 or more yards and a touchdown. He joined Joe Montana in accomplishing that feat.
5
Denver’s defense sacked Ben Roethlisberger five times on Sunday, matching the most sacks allowed by Pittsburgh in a single game this season. Defensive end Robert Ayers led the way with his first career multi-sack game. Defensive tackle Broderick Bunkley, defensive end Elvis Dumervil and linebacker Von Miller each added one sack a piece.
11
Safety David Bruton became the 11th different player to lead or share the lead in single-game tackles for the Broncos this season. He finished with eight stops (all solo) and one pass breakup against Pittsburgh.
30
Tebow completed four passes of 30 or more yards in the second quarter on Sunday against Pittsburgh. He is the first player to toss four 30-plus-yard passes in the same quarter since Warren Moon did so in 1990, and the first player to ever do so in a playoff game since at least 1960. Tebow finished the game with five 30-plus-yard passing plays — just two fewer than the Steelers defense had allowed all season entering the game.
31.6
Tebow’s 10 completions for 316 yards yielded an average per completion of 31.6 yards, which is the second-highest single-game mark in NFL history (regular or postseason, min. 10 completions). It sits behind only Joe Namath’s 15 completions for 496 yards against Baltimore on Sept. 24, 1972.
51.0
Wide receiver Demaryius Thomas caught four passes for 204 yards – good for an average of 51.0 yards per reception — against the Steelers on Sunday. That figure is the second highest single-game total among receivers with at least four catches in a game in NFL history (regular season or postseason).
80
Tebow’s 80-yard touchdown pass to Thomas was the longest overtime scoring play in NFL postseason history. The play took just 11 seconds, making Sunday’s game the shortest overtime game in NFL postseason history.
204
Thomas, who set a franchise postseason record with 204 receiving yards against the Steelers, posted the seventh-most receiving yards in a single game in NFL postseason history. It was the first time all season the Steelers allowed a 100-yard receiver.

Agreed Bay, execution was the problem. Doesn’t execution include timing and stuff like that? That kind of stuff comes with experience and repetition doesn’t it? Hopefully they are getting in the groove and we will do well this Saturday.
Story time…..
As mentioned I coach wrestling and as some of you may know, I am a person that loves to be inspired and try to inspire others.
This past Saturday my wrestling team headed across the river to participate in their first wrestling tournament of the year. Deciding to make the most of my time on the bus ride over there (10 minute ride) I began to speak to the kids.
I was telling them that there are just certain moves that are so elementary that they should be able to do them in their sleep. However, the difference between being successful when hitting those moves is the “nastiness” that has to accompany it! It’s a feeling! It’s a feeling of nothing is going to keep me down, not today…I’m going to my feet!
During this bus ride, I asked the kids if they had seen the final Rocky movie. To my surprise, all of them had. I then said, “Do you remember during the final fight seen of Balboa…Rocky kept talking about this thing in the basement. He had to get it out of the basement! It was this burning desire to unleash it! I told them there will be a point in time when you just have to empty the basement. This became our rally cry at the tournament and had 4 kids win in overtime…because….well….they emptied the basement.
Now…here’s the funny part…Monday was a class room practice where we discuss the tournaments goods and bads…As the last kid took his seat a calm fell over the room. You could of heard a pin drop. Just then I heard from a voice in the back.
“Coach, congratulations!”
I responded with “About what?”
Wrestler: “Your Broncos! They emptied the basement Sunday!”
GO GET EM’ BOYS!

For Tomlin to admit that we threw something new at them, he would be admitting that he didn’t have his team fully prepared.. He took the political and easy way out by saying he got beat b/c the players made plays.. I’m no genius, but it’s not that simple.. Yes the players made plays, but the play call was such that it gave them the best opportunity to do so… Our game plan on Sunday was CLEARLY different than anything we’ve shown all year, and was hands down McCoy’s best game called as OC… We caught them off guard, and i dont blame Tomlin for not wanting to admit it.. To win next week, we need to change it up again IMO, we’ll see on Saturday
I think Tebow is starting to trust his teammates more, he may have even said this in his interviews. When he was first starting, Elway said something about trusting his teammates and not trying to do it all himself. I think when Tebow trusts his teammates to make plays we can see what we all saw happen against PIT. It all starts with a good accurate throw but he was anticipating his WRs getting open.
*and of course, the players have to execute..
So.. I guess there is really no arguement, seeing both have to take place to be successful..
morning trb…bay…all. hope everyone is having a great morning/evening, ahhhh, another great day a broncos addict…aint it great
An example of when the playcalling is problematic..Atlanta..failed 4th and inches in OT..failed 4th and inches in the playoffs..twice. All three times they tried running it..oh I don’t know maybe try getting the ball to White or Gonzalez. Even execution gets you so far but if you call the same thing 3 times and fail 3 times don’t you think something more than execution needs to be done.
Wow, let me say what a great win! It was historic and as dramatic as it gets. Broncos Country was starving for a playoff appearance, let alone a win against a 12-4 Steelers team lead by Big Ben. People can say what they want about the injuries – they’ve been banged up all year and still won a lot of games. The Packers won the SB with like 9 starters on IR. They got outcoached and outplayed simple as that. And speaking of coaching I have a little something to add to Bay’s debate about coaching vs. execution. Obviously players make plays and they should get the blame when they don’t execute. But on the other hand coaches gotta coach em up and then adjust if something they drew up isn’t working. In the games we lost it was a combination of poor execution and poor coaching. With that said I’ll reiterate what I’ve been saying all year even when times were tough: We have a great coaching staff and I don’t want to change any of it. I don’t want to change anything in the front office either. The success we’re having is a product of some special relationships between players and staff. It’s clear as day that it’s a family unit out there and you need that to win a championship. I hope Mccoy and Allen both stay. Pickins must be slim if teams are interviewing first and third year coordinators from the Broncos.
ok guys lets talk about this weekends game we gotta keep tom off keep holding on to the ball
if tebow can pass for 316 yards vs the number 1 def in the nfl he can pass for over 500 vs the last def in the nfl right?

It was sell boat or sell the Cobra to be able to go.
Gonna miss that car.
LMAO DB hope you have another car LOL.
Man they better win for you dude….
That better be a joke, a Cobra for a Bronco loss!?!?!? LOL.
Did I join the ranks of the “blog killers”
Have a truck for puliin’ the boat.No joke about the car.Was sellin’ for other reasons too.The opportunity just put a lil more motivation into the sale.
I REALLY hope they win but I want to win for THEMSELVES and ALL of BRONCOS COUNTRY!!!!!Alot more than I want um to win for me.
Who ever made that T.O. notion to bring him in — is totally insane to the 10th degree! I would never poison the locker-room with a dissenter like him… whether the jeopardy of a “Super Bowl” birth or not! I know the Broncos will be going to “The Show” again real soon; especially, with Tebow!
Welcome to the blog rbarker31! Great to have you on board.
Good choice DB on selling the car. Car gotta go over boat any day. You get pleasure and relaxation from the boat. Car is just a money pit.
LOL @ weatherman, couldn’t agree with you more but many will say a boat is a hole in the water you throw money into, haha.
BB&R, I feel the same way. There’s a feeling of real togetherness and camaraderie that a season full of tribulations and crazy wins like this one brings. I’d really hate to lose Allen, especially for Champ’s sake. Just when things seem to be really gelling and like there’s some consistency, to have to start again with a new D coach would be super disheartening.
Hey guys, I’m new on here, and I like reading you guys’ posts. You may have seen me a couple times on here but I’m going to post often now.
Good call on the boat, Know what happens when you ski behind a cobra? road Kill. All that aside hate to say I told y’all so but…..Oh yeah! I hope Decker is ready to roll Saturday and how bout that coaching? I knew that things were going to be interesting when I seen Gloom lining up on the other side. And wow! Timmy with more than 2 receivers Man oh Man can he light it up! Those Rings are now only 3 wins away!GO BRONCOS BEAT THE PATS THERE IS A NEW SHERIFF IN TOWN AND HIS NAME IS TIM TEBOW!
