Defensive end Elvis Dumervil posted his eight consecutive game with at least a half sack on Sunday at Buffalo. That sack streak is the league’s longest active streak and the longest of Dumervil’s career.

161.1
Denver continues to pace the NFL in rushing yards per game, averaging 161.1 per contest this season. The Broncos have averaged 190.7 rushing yards per game since the bye week, a figure that is nearly 20 yards more than the second place team during that span (Hou., 171.0).

414
Wide receiver Demaryius Thomas led the AFC and tied with Calvin Johnson for the league lead with 414 receiving yards in the month of December. He ranked second in the AFC with 18 first downs and tied for second with three receiving touchdowns in the month.

1,000
Running back Willis McGahee surpassed the 1,000-yard rushing mark on Sunday against the Bills to become the second player in NFL history (Ricky Watters – S.F./Phi./Sea.) to record 1,000-yard seasons with three different teams (Buffalo – 2004-05 and Baltimore – 2007). He is the 12th player in Broncos history to eclipse 1,000 rushing yards in a season and the first since Tatum Bell in 2006.

There are some here who always have to be right all the time. Some want to see Tim fail just outta spite. Fans are fans, we`re not coaches or football X`s n O`s guru`s. Many think they are but their only fooling themselves. The coaches make all of the decisions so we lets just get over it.

  2. strandoftds says:

    BRONCOS WILL WIN<NO DOUBT!!!!!!!!!!

  3. louisianabroncofan says:

yep olap i’ve been tourturing myself thinking alot about that very scenario. theres actually a 50-50 chance we lose and raiders win and that thought makes it hard to think about anything else, but i just tell myself if that does happen, we will be jumped forward like 10 picks in the draft. and we need good draft picks. theres a small way to make the thought bearable.

  4. strandoftds says:

If the coaches were smart they`d let the Tebow loose!! No more 2nd quarter handcuffing please. Let-herr Rip!!!!!!!!!!!

  5. tnalen66 says:

The only reason Orton was not traded was the 9 mil a year contract. Miami wanted Orton to redo that contract and Orton refused. No other team wanted to pay Orton 9 mil. Thank you again Josh McD. So it’s not like like Elway and Xanders didn’t try.

  6. strandoftds says:

The Chiefs are averaging 9 points per game the last 6 games. Do the math!!

  7. tnalen66 says:

The last time we won the last game of the year was 2005 and 2007. Both were meaningless games. We had our bye in 2005. Brees last lame in SD. 2007 We beat the Viqueens. That seems like forever.

  8. tnalen66 says:

The chefs D and running game is my worry.

  9. louisianabroncofan says:

ya strand and i may occasionaly look like one of those guys that thinks he’s right all the time, but i’m really not and i know when it comes to the complete understanding of football and a specific team like a coach has, i know very little. I try not to act like i think i do. my stuff really is opinion even though i can get worked up and start stating what looks like me knowing all the facts! I swear i’m not a know it all, not my personality type at all!! but bloggin makes alot of people seem that way.

  10. 1nOnlyTRB says:

Dont fear their running game. Thier Screens on the other hand … yup. Watch out for McCluster .. he is a fast one … an du know how poorly we do against speed. Saw that big game from spiller coming a mile away … if only I wasnt already eliminated in my fantasy league I woulda picked him up and played him. TRB

  11. louisianabroncofan says:

you say let tebow loose but watch out. i think he needs to be reeled in a bit and controlled still because he tends to misread defenses and may throw alot of int’s. not saying letting him go at a later date wont be a good idea, just not yet. slowly but surely. IMO of course.

  12. hometeam007 says:

I did not like seeing Tebow just let’er rip last Saturday. He needs a little more time to get a familiarity with his receivers. Also, waiting way too long in the pocket. We were winning games with the option where Tebow made quick reads and moved on. Make the read, pass or run. Keep it simple, silly. KISS method. If we would have stuck with our game plan of running the ball with Buffalo we may have been close enough to try to pull out a win at the end. We cannot afford to try and invent a passing game for Tebow in a must win. Play some Bronco football and hope the defense understand and executes their role.

    go broncos!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  13. strandoftds says:

Louisiana, I hear ya bro, I`m the same way.

  14. griff77302003 says:

The bills screen game killed us , got to TACKLE better. Wide recievers have to become DB’S when they aren’t going to catch the ball , manditory if the throws inside.

  15. Broncos Born & Raised says:

Wow. It comes down to the final game again. It’s already been pointed out extensively in the local news what our fortunes have been in similar situations. If we lose I don’t think it means the end of the world – even if the Raiders win and we don’t get into the playoffs. We started out this season 1-4 with no expectations of a playoff run this year. We have a young team. Tim appears to have earned the chance to at least start at the beginning of the year and get an off season with Elway and company working with him. Millers thumb, and Dawkins’ injury have set our defense back. And the fact that our best special teamer Bruton has had to start has hurt our special teams. But the young guys got experience against offenses that I think are much more potent than the Chiefs. If that experience isn’t enough to win this game it’s still valuable for next year.
But if we win… that would be a statement. That would be us saying we really are moving on from being the mediocre to sub par Broncos of old. Tim’s lead his team and won in the biggest spots there are – and this is no doubt the biggest game of his NFL career. He had a terrible game last week but even his most skeptical critics admit that he is mentally tough and won’t stop believing. Orton is still the same old Kyle – great between the 20s and ineffective in the red zone. Our red zone defense has been stout. So if we don’t force the issue and do them any favors by turning the ball over, we should still be in this game. And if we can find a way to get a couple hits on Kyle – we all know the QB he turns into when he starts getting hit. And just as he has a familiarity with us, this team has had front row seats to watch the many things that Orton doesn’t do well with on defense. And all this talk about how he knows all the audibles – I say we call a couple dummy audibles early on in the game for some explosive plays. This is a win that this fan base is starving for. But if we don’t at least we’ve seen flashes from a young team and we have a great idea of what we need to work on. Don’t forget we’ve already doubled last seasons wins even after starting 1-4. Go Broncos!

  16. 1nOnlyTRB says:

When he says let Tebow rip i believe he means don’t hand cuff him, as far as tell him not to scamble or only call deep routes or whatever. The reason we lost and had alot of INTs was because we needed to score and we wanted to score fast, so we had to chuck it and almost every pass was a deep one. Underneath routes. I know the middle is a scary place as far as ints but we need to do more than go deep. Also sure we may do a few WR screens but how about RB screens where we virtually let the agressive defenders thru and then dump it over them t the RB with a OL convoy in front. We havent done an RB screen in forever, we just keep doing that same lame WR screen … stuff like that. Heck even a shovel pass here and there. Either way we gotta play our ball which is to run and pass off the run. Play actions and what not. But we gotta be balanced and not predictable. We cannot to that super run in the first half or so and then get down like a run and have to be exclusively passing … that does work … AT ALL. JJ is an excellent receiver why we don’t use him in screens and motion him as a WR for quick hits is beyond me.

    TRB

  17. 1nOnlyTRB says:

Another thing … the fact that Orton knows the playbook means we should run the option more than anything, because thats a part of the playbook he doesn’t really know and the option is exactly that, multiple options so its random. Option might be our saving grace against a team that may already know the conventional part of our playbook. TRB

  18. 1nOnlyTRB says:

reminds me of when the cardinals played the Eagles … Kolb called out just about every freaking play from the sidelines and unlike kolb who left the Eagles before the season began, Orton was just in our practices like 4 weeks ago lol. TRB

  19. S.D.Bronco30 says:

    28 chiefs
    13 Broncos

  20. seweatherman1 says:

That is what I said the other day. We have moved away from the option offense almost completely. Enven the analysts have seen and commented on this where Carolina has gone almost 100 % to the option and they have been winning with Newton racking up running td’s along with yards.

Why are we moving from the option if it was working? It seems to me that conventional isn’t getting it done, so go back to what was working.

  21. strandoftds says:

Ya, work on the conventional O in the offseason. It`s not working right now, too soon, I think. Go with what works and use your strengths.

  22. baylinorcrush says:

    lonewolf7,

Thanks for bringing it up, you now have 3 points total, therefore dropping off of the top twenty, I just didn’t make the adjustment with your latest WOS.

So here are the standing before the last game, but if we go playoffs we’ll play some more of course:

This is how we stand Top Twenty overall after 16 weeks:

    1. oldsouthstander, 25 points
    2. timmah, 14
    3. thecladybunch, 12
    4. Pdp1408, 11
    5. killekod, 10
Tie for 6th. BroncoRoyaltyEst.1979, RabidOrange, Orange_Crusher, baylinorcrush, all with 9 points.
    Tie for 10th. raidrhadr, broncosmex, MANDIEGO, alexanserg, denver0723, rayjr26, Denver15, Atwater4HOF, minidisaa, mikew007, all with 7 points.
    20.WieminCA, 6 points

  23. baylinorcrush says:

S.D.Bronco30, do I take it that this time your prediction is not a superstition thing? Because it certainly hasn’t worked very well lately, LOL.

  24. S.D.Bronco30 says:

Your right bay it did not work with a darn the last two games!! No this time it is hoping it works again and some based on history lately. We just cant seem to finish a regular season. When one win is needed to get in, it does not seeem to happen. Also of course the Chiefs are going to be looking to riun things for us and embarress us at home. Orton is going to do anything he can to show why they should have kept him and to try to settle the Tebow – Orton debate in one head to head matchup. Finally Orton knows very well how to take advantage of the weak spots in this D.

  25. baylinorcrush says:

Since we are getting close to the end of the contest, let me post the bottom of the barrel standings:

Bottom of the barrel, all minuses (from not so bad to absolute dead last):

shaztah and brian_schneider, both minus 1 point.

mexbronco, true2broncos, strandoftds, rcsodak, Crush Arizona, MILEHIGH#7, yovi21, arch4662, Elways Ghost and risky305, all with minus 5 points each.

Second to last, CarnageBronc, minus 6 points.

Dead last, the lantern rouge of Bronco Country, tnalen66, minus 10 points.

  26. baylinorcrush says:

Yeah, like tnalen66 pointed out very accurately, it’s Orton’s Super Bowl. See, tnalen66 isn’t all that bad, LMAO!

  27. strandoftds says:

What a trip?! For all of us who thrive on Rock n Roll!!
Van Halen has just announced a 2012 World Tour with lead singer David Lee Roth. Now thats a concert I will not miss. I hope a new CD is on the way.

  28. OrangeTsunami says:

    Broncos 24
    Chiefs 16

  29. strandoftds says:

So the Broncos first playoff game is Jan.1st against the Chiefs. LOL

  30. baylinorcrush says:

I saw Van Halen like in 76 or around there at the CU auditorium or something like that, I believe that’s where I lost most of my hearing loss now, the loudest concert I have ever been to and I’ve been to many, I’ll pass, LOL.

  31. strandoftds says:

I only saw them once at US festival 83 in California.

  32. OrangeTsunami says:

I never thought I’d say this, but I miss Todd Haley.. I think Romeo Crennel is going to have his defense fired up for this one.. We have to get to Orton early and often to win this game.. Sacks are one thing, but I’m looking for QB hits on Sunday!!!

  33. baylinorcrush says:

I was right, three players was the most we were going to get in the pro bowl and I also had it right that Colquitt wouldn’t make it:

The Broncos will have at least three players in the NFL Pro Bowl this season, after Champ Bailey, Von Miller and Elvis Dumervil were named to the AFC roster on Tuesday.

Tim Tebow, Matt Prater and Britton Colquitt were tabbed as alternates.

    Congrats to all these guys!

  34. S.D.Bronco30 says:

Yeah it will be just like his super bowl. It’s not like he is holding a gruge or anyting! Dink and dunk over the middle all day. Of course we always have the plague of the redzone in our favor!

  35. strandoftds says:

    Is it New Years yet?

  36. strandoftds says:

good for Champ, happy for him. and VON got voted in, cool!

  37. baylinorcrush says:

This is going to make TRB very happy:

The Broncos signed fullback Austin Sylvester to the active roster. To make room for Sylvester, the Broncos waived wide receiver/kick return Quan Cosby. Cosby was inactive for the Broncos’ loss at Buffalo last Sunday.

See, the so and so must go campaign works, good job!

  38. baylinorcrush says:

For Tebow to be an alternate he has a lot more support from NFL players and coaches that people think, just saying.

  39. strandoftds says:

Britton Colquitt should have been a slam dunk.

  40. baylinorcrush says:

    than people think…

  41. baylinorcrush says:

    Not with Lechler, knew that.

  42. OrangeTsunami says:

Now just put Royal on return duty and put Willis at WR

  43. strandoftds says:

Who knows, maybe Sylvester will be our new secret weapon. LOL

  44. baylinorcrush says:

We only fell down 2 spots in the power rankings to #11, that is a bigger shocker to me!!!

  45. baylinorcrush says:

And the Rams now have passed the Colts for worse in the league in power rankings.

    Well done McD, LMAO!!!!!!!!!!!

  46. strandoftds says:

Qaun Cosby blew chunks against N.E. bad, multiple mistakes after another. Uncalled for.

  47. OrangeTsunami says:

Sylvester played well in camp, it was a tough call between he a Larson if I remember correctly.. I’d like to see us use the FB more

  48. baylinorcrush says:

This is a stat worth chewing on:

Aaron Rodgers, 45 TDs, 6 INTs

    ARE YOU FREAKING KIDDING ME?!?!?!?!

  49. strandoftds says:

Bay, what is your take on us signing a FB to our active roster? Pretty intersting if you ask me. What is Fox up to?

  50. OrangeTsunami says:

I’m not taking anything away from Rodgers, but if you watch him play, more often than not, he puts it out there for his WR to make the play… Their WR’s and TE’s are terrific, from top to bottom…
