Defensive end Elvis Dumervil’s sack of Tom Brady extended his sack streak to seven consecutive games. He has 8.5 sacks on the season.
9
Defensive tackle Marcus Thomas became the ninth player to lead or share the lead in single-game tackles for Denver this season. He and cornerback Chris Harris each registered nine tackles against the Patriots.
93
Quarterback Tim Tebow led all rushers with 93 yards on 12 carries (7.8 avg.). His 93 rushing yards are the fourth-most by a Broncos quarterback in a single game. He also finished with two rushing touchdowns to mark the seventh time in franchise history that a quarterback has run for two scores in a game. Tebow’s 610 rushing yards on the season leads all NFL quarterbacks.
167
The Broncos started Sunday’s game vs. New England strong on the ground, running for 167 yards in the first quarter — the most in the first quarter in franchise history. That total is the highest by the club in any quarter since rushing for 187 in a quarter at Seattle on Nov. 26, 2000.
338
Wide receiver Demaryius Thomas finished with seven catches for 116 yards against New England, representing his second career 100-yard outing. Thomas now has 338 receiving yards during the month of December (112.7 yards per game), which leads the NFL.

There is definitely something about the Broncos and the second quarter, LMAO!
Obviously the 4th quarter is more our thing….
I wonder if it`s because Fox is trying to set a tempo by running the ball and slowing down the game. If thats the case it isn`t working, we`re totally flat by the 2nd quarter with no TD`s to show for it. Only guessing.
Slowing down the temp or trying to control the tempo is fine when you have an offense that can just explode when they need to if trying to control the tempo doesn’t work. I don’t think we’re quite there yet because in order to do that you need to have a great passing attack as well.
Our defense was completely lost out there against the Skins in that SB. Elway and company didn`t even have a chance the second half.
If there was a second half, I completely forgot it, LOL.
We don`t have a great passing attack as of yet but we`re are heading in the right direction. We should be a dangerous team in a year or two depending on our FA and drafting the right players at key positions that have gaping holes in them. That, and depth as well.
Just being in position to make the playoffs is a neat trick, totally unexpected. Anyone in their right mind thought we`d be as bad as last year. It`s a miracle! LOL
BTW, I wanted to give kudos to Marcus Thomas, he is playing so much better in the 43, and here is hoping Bunkley is allright, we need these bad boys, and McBean even so he is much improved too is still an idiot, managing killer penalties once again, hopefully it won’t keep happening over and over like it has in the past. He would be the one we should try to replace next year at DT.
McBean causes penalties at critical times in the game, uncalled for.
How about that ST tackle by Willis, brutal hit. Willis is a gamer, gotta like the young mans play.
They’re always personal fouls too like a facemask.
True, but the missed calls going the other way are just as painful to the Broncos.
There were at least 3 false starts by the Pats RG that went uncalled, to include one that went against us as a neutral zone infraction. which looked to be the wrong call. I could be wrong but I thought that call was when the player goes in and contacts the opposing team player. Our player crossed and got back but I didn’t see contact. Am I misreading the rule?
Missed face mask on Tebow.
And countless holding calls, but holding is one of the ones that refs call or don’t.
You can only worry about what you can control, you can control your own players, you can’t control the refs, only fans worry about that, LOL.
I think it all evens out in the end. We’ve gotten away with a few calls throughout the season as well.
Miller almost had his jersey torn off on a few plays and the facemask penalty should have gone both ways. The announcers even made note of those infractions that were not called. The refs really helped the cause for the Pats, otherwise they would of been moving backward a lot more than forward.
There have been, are, and always will be missed calls. Some refs are worse than others but it is the blatantly obvious missed ones that are really disappointing.
Lotta holding on our rusher. DL and OL of the broncos need to stop the hands to the face … KUper and Clady and McBean especially.
” The Broncos started fast and led 16-7 early in the second quarter. Denver held the ball for 10 minutes, 45 seconds and had 167 yards rushing in the first quarter before the turnover epidemic started. Usually, these type of starts result in a win.”
Darn near 11 minutes … thats a recipe for vicory. Just them fumbles. I read as kizla said that our oldschool game could not keep up with the passing attack of this new age. With numbers like those I beg to differ. Just can’t turn the ball over.

I hope Cosby is riding the pine this weekend, eating his jello pudding cause he is just plain aweful.
Different information coming from ESPN.com … they must be wrong
“According to ESPN Stats & Information, Denver can win both the AFC West and clinch a wild-card spot Saturday. Of course, it won’t be easy. To win the division in Week 16, Denver must win at Buffalo, Oakland has to lose or tie at Kansas City and Detroit has to lose or tie. ”
Why would we need detroit to lose or tie to chargers? hmmm….
TRB
One of my biggest concerns is Buffalo might pull out all the stops and try some trick plays. Not even necessarily trick plays but fake punts or FGs remember the Redskins game last season, rediculous!
that does sound odd TRB
The league will come up with all the scenarios later on today, but the last blog explained a lot of it, even so it is unofficial.
I will be out until probably Friday, having to go do some Orange Crushing to regain my sanity before the end of the year festivities. Don’t worry I will keep track of all the score predictions and this is a reminder this week Friday midnight is the deadline to post yours, no exception, no picks on game day..
Happy blogging!
Take care bay………and if I don’t see you on here before sunday, I hope you and your family has a very merry christmas!
Bay- Have fun!
Broncos-30
Bills-13
I agree bay, Marcus Thomas has been busting in the middle.
Woodyard also had 9 tackles this past weekend.
I read Millers’ tackle was recorded as TFL (tackle for loss).
At game, thought it was a sack…lol.
Broncos did record 5 TFL’s vs. Patriots.
Elvis lowered the boom on Brady on his beautiful sack!! – One for the highlight reels.
Looked like Decker was having trouble creating separation to get open. imo.
On to Buffalo!!!
GO BRONCOS!!!!!!!
Royal, how goes it bro? We gotta win this saturday dude.
Don’t know about the rest of you but getting tired of not seeing any short outlet passes to the back or in the middle short to the backs or TEs. All I saw sunday was a lot of long routes by our WRs with nothing or little of anything for outlets for Tebow.
I hope all our Broncos family has a very safe and enjoyable Merry Christmas. Bay have fun in the Orange Crush. We’re going to be getting back to our winning ways.
Denver Broncos – 38
Buffalo Bills – 17
i denver gets a win this sunday that will be my christmas present. lets go denver. i say we win 27-20
strand – how’ve you been….. yeah Broncos need to focus this week on taking out the Bills. Haven’t faced too much adversity lately but I believe they’ll be ready to go!
Concerned re: McGahee… hope he heals up..
I’m more concerned with not having dawk in the box to stuff the run…………..I think ball and JJ can carry the load in the running game.
Nice positive statements on Tebow today from Elway. Sounds like he’s coming around to thinking Tim might be a long term QB for the broncos.
http://espn.go.com/nfl/story/_/id/7372694/denver-broncos-john-elway-gives-tim-tebow-strongest-endorsement-yet
And via Elway live today. The audio broadcast isn’t up yet but should be in an hour or so.
Hardhitting, our TEs might as well be glorified linemen … we do not use them at all … and they are a young QBs best weapon. I think we are the only team that goes multiple games without a TE catching a single pass. Maybe they are not getting open the few times they are out there, or Maybe Tebow never gets to them in his reads … either way … Tight ends are a problem, can cripple anyteam … thats why the Pats started using em. In the days of McD … they were not used.
TRB
Killer Kod IMO more Johnson than Ball I hope. Nothing against ball … TRB
Well for this game, Ball & Johnson, but not if we’re going to make a push in the playoffs.
Can’t compare Ball & Johnson to McGahee.. jmo.
I couldn’t agree more TRB. JJ looked a lot better out there and I think he’s the better runner.
Nice article … i enjoyed the read. between the comeback kid Elway, John Fox the guy that turned the panthers around in like 1 year, and the new comeback kid Mr Tim Clutch Tebow … its easy to see how the quick turn around was possible. Still some ways to go but the right direction. I cannot imagine what it woulda been like if McD was back … Tim would still be riding the pine, Champ would be gone, and out D would be worse than Patriots. He probably woulda drafted Cam Newton with his pick to add more to QB controversy … or traded all the way down ammassed picks and trade them all to move up 2 spots to get a 3rd round CB. What a clown that guy was. I guess we were all right to be happy Elway was coming back … just his first year but with him leadership and team mentality he earned as a player and a QB, he has been able to take input and use them to make great decisions drawn from a pool of different mindsets, a former player, a players coach, and a general manager. Way to go Elway.
Go Broncos. TRB out…
We here you Royal. McGahee needs to be a hundred percent. The guys a warrior and i appreciate that … but he has been running back from injury too quickly … im prolly the only one that misses Moreno … was playing like a beast in the game that ended his season. Once this team learned how to block … our guys started finding holes. And I must say, we have some of the best blocking recievers in the league … they have had mad practice lol. TRB
There inlays the problem with Moreno TRB………..He’s hurt AGAIN! The dude can never stay healthy. And while he’s had some great moments in a game, he’s had a ton I’d like to forget…….all those 3rd and shorts he got stuffed on, or the losses behind the line of scrimmage, or the fumbles.
I guess I don’t really miss him all that much.
Buffalo 24
Denver 21
It would have been nice to have Moreno chip in TRB.
McGahee is doing awesome. He is going to be a 1,000 yard back for us this year. Moreno is dead weight. He has had his chances plenty but is a glass man. An ACL injury is tuff to come back from, I know it can be done and is plenty but I don’t think Moreno is tuff enough. He can be let go and we need a big goal line short yardage back that is a bruiser to back up McGahee.
Great read….thanks for the link applejack.
I was looking more at Moreno as a contributor…definitely not an everydown back.
No one is talking about him taking over. Like royal said … would be nice to have him chip in. If theres one thing he never lacked it was enthusiasm. And its all good killerkod, im probably the only one, and u are right, oft injured but the stuffs were mainly in McDs O … I can’t fault anyone for struggling running in that O … in this O however, especially with Tebow as a distraction, all our RBs and i mean ALL have flourished. The scheme rocks almost as much as the Legendary Broncos Zone Scheme of old lol. And McGahee has fumbled like 4 times this year so has ball too offcourse … we just forgive McGahee because he is a beast lol. TRB
The reason Moreno got hurt was because he cut back in for more yards rather than taking the open route out of bounds.
This was right after he made like a hurdler.
There should be room for someone like that.
indeed apple indeed. And looking at his fumbles 2 in 2009 and 3 last year. It just looked like alot more because we couldn’t run. It was just frustration lol
Another guy i liked … Reggie Bush … wanted to see him in a different O and he is truly coming into his own in Miami … proving he can get it done. Happy for him. He will never live up to his 2nd overall draft pick same as Moreno will never live up to his 14 (or was it 12) mainly because we all wanted D … but I always like to see a lil redemption. TRB
Hola Bronco Buddies!!!
I just got back from Vegas… So, I don’t want to repeat anything…
I’m not discouraged by this loss… We played hard, made a few mistakes and got beat by a more talented team… Happens…
