For the third straight week, Matt Prater has ended the game with a field goal to deliver a Broncos victory on the final play. Prater beat San Diego with a 37-yard kick in overtime in Week 12, Minnesota with a 23-yarder as time expired in the fourth quarter in Week 13 and Chicago with a 51-yard field goal in overtime. With his kick on Sunday, he helped Denver set a franchise record with its third overtime victory of the season. He has four game-winning kicks on the season, which is tied for second most for a single season.

The Broncos extended their win streak to six games with Sunday’s 13-10 overtime victory over the Bears. With the win, Denver became one of just three teams in NFL history to win at least six consecutive games after starting a season 2-5 or worse.

Linebacker Von Miller tied the Broncos rookie sack record with his 11.5th sack of the season on Sunday. His 11.5 sacks in his first 12 career games rank third in league history behind Leslie O’Neal (S.D., 1986 – 12.5) and a player who watched Miller collect his 11.5th sack on Sunday – Bears defensive lineman Julius Peppers, who had 12 sacks with Carolina in 2002.

The Broncos extended their multi-sack streak to 12 games, finishing with four quarterback takedowns as a team (Williams – 2; Miller, Dumervil – 1). The 12 consecutive games with multiple sacks is the longest active streak in the NFL.

Especially with the many similarities these two possess- leadership, never say die, comeback wins– this IS the new John Elway folks!!
