So… I can’t sleep, as usual, and it’s times like this that my brain is doing laps inside my skull… I HATE money, and the concept of a ‘fiat’ system… with that in mind I give you two thoughts that I sometimes enjoy expanding upon (but I will spare you from the expansion, and simply share the thoughts)

‘Anything in life that can be done for money, can be done for free… it is a simple matter of choice for all parties involved…’

  11. baylinorcrush says:

Very nice…Last night sounded like a bunch of friends at a pre-Xmas party, good times, civility and respect in a wholesome fun and clean atmosphere. The Xmas spirit is definitely rubbing off on Bronco Country.

  12. baylinorcrush says:

And it brings us to today, deadline to post your score prediction for the Pats game, midnight blog time, no picks on game day ever, no exceptions.

  13. baylinorcrush says:

Well, one more player chiming in on Tebow, Jermichael Finley of the Packers:

“I sit at home, start watching TV and all I’m seeing is Tebow. That’s kind of disturbing. We have a guy here that’s breaking records every week and you have a guy in Tebow that’s saying ‘God’ every word and he gets coverage. Of course I love my faith and God. but come on man.”

“He’s telling everybody what they want to hear. You see him and he’s patting everybody on the back saying, ‘You’re going to make this catch. I promise because God said,’ and he makes it happen. Stuff like that. It confuses people. People that don’t know the game outside of the fans, of course they’re going to hype it up. But guys that see a good player and a good quarterback, they know what kind of guy he’ll be down the road when he gets exposed. Everybody who knows the game knows what kind of player Tebow is going to be.”

    Jealous much? LMAO!

  14. baylinorcrush says:

    Now this is funny:

New England’s Nate Solder, the rookie offensive tackle out of Colorado, is now on the other side of the altitude issue.

Judging from an interview with the Boston Herald this week, it sounds as though Solder. a Denver native, is downplaying its effect when teammates ask about playing Sunday at Sports Authority Field at Mile High.

“At CU, we always tried to make a big deal about that,” Solder told the Boston newspaper.

“But we didn’t win a whole lot of games when I was there, so maybe it didn’t make a whole lot of difference.”

When you’re CU it takes a lot more than altitude to give you an edge, LOL.

  15. baylinorcrush says:

Yet another player chiming in on Tebow:

CHARLOTTE, N.C. — Panthers wide receiver Steve Smith said when it comes to comparing Cam Newton to Tim Tebow there is no comparison.

Smith said time will prove Newton is by far the better NFL quarterback.

“If Tebow is standing next to me I would tell it to his face — come check me out in five years, Jack, and you’ll know who’s the best quarterback,” Smith said.

“Everybody wants to crown Tebow as a versatile quarterback,” Smith said. “Versatile to me means you can throw the ball very accurately, run the ball and create things. The only he can create is running. He isn’t very accurate.”

“You can’t compare Cam to Tebow. I think Cam’s a more complete player,” Smith said. “Tebow has the wins. But everybody wants to crown Tebow. Yes, he has the will to win. I think Tebow is no different than any other professional (in that way). But Tebow has a great opportunity to play behind a great defense.”

Well Smith, if you hadn’t said “Yes, he has the will to win. I think Tebow is no different than any other professional (in that way)”, I would of given you an ounce of credit, but as is any idiot on this planet would easily tell that Tebow’s will to win is only equaled by the great ones, not every professional, specially in the NFL where many of you guys are in it mainly for the money and could care less whether you win or lose, what a crock of crap thing to say.

  16. baylinorcrush says:

Fox making an excellent point about the Pats D not being anywhere as bad as the rankings make it look:

“A lot of people have been asking me about their defense. I think they’re a fine defense. They’re 14th in the league in scoring defense,” Fox said. “Sometimes y’all aren’t trying to factor they’re ahead in a lot of games and people playing catchup. I think they’ll have a salty defense out there regardless of who they put out there.”

  17. baylinorcrush says:

The above post was referring to the Pats ranking dead last in total yards allowed per game in the league.

  18. S.D.Bronco30 says:

So…. you guys have made a lot of great names for this defense but I wanted to add to the end of the one I like the best and seems to be the most used. We cant leave this guy out! here it it:

    DJ VONDOOM CHAMPion Defense

what do you think…maybe getting lengthy but cant forget Champ!

  19. baylinorcrush says:

The Pats allow 308.7 yards per game but only 21.1 points.

  20. baylinorcrush says:

I’m the DJ VONDOOM creator, so I need some of the royalties on that, haha.

  21. S.D.Bronco30 says:

haha, I knew you were bay and I was going to give you your due credit but didn’t. You deserve the credit and a percentage of the royalties!

  22. baylinorcrush says:

Now it’s Phil Simms turn about Tebow:

“I’m not afraid to say these things, I thought it was a curious hire by Denver,” Simms said. “I was like, ‘I don’t know. I don’t get it.’ I was thinking the Denver Broncos under Mike Shanahan and his type of personnel. But hey, isn’t it amazing how fast you can turn things around? Like I said, the NFL has five seasons so you can get a lot accomplished in one year.”

“This is what John Fox has dreamed of,” Simms said. “You run, you don’t turn it over, you don’t have to throw it a lot. This was his dream in Carolina. If John Fox had his way, he would throw under five times.”

“Their pass protection, even in crucial, pressurized moments, it’s borderline sensational,” Simms said.

“Rex Ryan in New York has to be so jealous he can’t stand it,” Simms said.

“We’ve got the Denver Broncos, we’ve got the Seattle Seahawks, and we’ve got the San Francisco 49ers — who are starting to throw a little more of late — but they all have basically the same gameplan,” Simms said. “We are going to be conservative. We are going to run it. Be tough. And we’ll wear you down.

” I’m watching Jacksonville, there’s a lot of teams who are saying, ‘The heck with all this passing stuff. Let’s simplify this game again.’ I always said discipline, toughness and being physical will never leave the NFL.”

I love hearing that the NFL is going back in the trenches away from the fluff, I am a fan who likes substance and this new back to the old way of doing it on the field, minimizing the passing game for some brutal in the trenches play and running it down people’s throats is like music to my ears.

  23. baylinorcrush says:

A nice “friendly” match up to follow tomorrow:

No rookie introductions will be necessary Sunday when Broncos linebacker Von Miller faces New England offensive tackle Nate Solder.

Miller’s Texas A&M Aggies faced Solder’s Colorado Buffaloes twice during their college playing days. And they got to know each other on a personal level last winter after hiring the same agent, David Dunn , and making the predraft rounds.

“We’re really good friends,” Miller said Friday. “I know his parents, he knows my parents. It’s going to be fun playing against him.”

“I saw his growth,” Miller said. “He’s got more than good feet. He’s something like 6-foot-7 and 330 pounds (listed at 6-8, 319), but he moves like a tight end. He’s super strong too. It’s going to be challenging. And it’s going to be good seeing him.

“We’re definitely going to have to switch jerseys after the game.”

  24. baylinorcrush says:

Well, that about does it for this edition of “Anything of Interest Broncos Morning News with a Spin”, LOL.

  25. seweatherman1 says:

The one thing that I don’t understand is…where is it written that you have to throw the ball 60 times in a game to be an NFL QB? I have not found that written anyplace. Last week a big deal was made about Tebow not being accurate. Everytjhing was sais about only his completions vs. attempts in the first 2 qtrs. Nothing said of the 6 perfect passes that were just plain dropped. I am glad that we are getting back to the old fashioned smash mouth football. Coach Fox is playing the game the way it was intended to be played.

  26. seweatherman1 says:

    Broncos 26
    Pats 24

  27. shaztah says:

I don’t understand Finley’s comment at the end, ” Everybody who knows the game knows what kind of player Tebow is going to be.”

Who is everybody? How can they predict how well Tim will develope? I just can’t understand how a player can stuff like that and act like he speaks for all of the players.

  28. seweatherman1 says:

How has the weather been your way Bay? What I have been hearing from USDA weather folks next year drought will be worse than this year in your neck of the country.

  29. baylinorcrush says:

Now a little news directly from the other side of the coin, the official website of the Pats:

Weak vs. Weak – The Patriots biggest weakness is obviously on pass defense, where New England ranks 32nd in the league. The Broncos biggest weakness is on pass offense, where Denver ranks 31st in the league. Tebow completes just 48 percent of his passes overall, and generally much fewer than that in the first three quarters. The Patriots defense has held an opposing QB to less than 250 yards just once in 13 games. Tebow has yet to throw for 250 yards this season, topping the 200-yard mark through the air just twice. Only one Patriots opponent has thrown less than 30 passes in 13 games. Tebow has topped 30 attempts in only two games. Something may have to give here. Either a Patriots defense that can’t stop anyone will stop a guy who can’t throw. Or, a guy who can’t throw will put up his biggest numbers against a defense that can’t stop anyone.

Hard to argue anything about all that…

And this writer Andy Hart from Patriots Football Weekly goes on and on analyzing all facets of the match up which I will spear you and he ends up with his prediction, now listen good, LOL:

    Prediction:
In the end the NFL is all about matchups. This week it comes down to which team’s weakness is weaker, and which team’s strength is stronger. I think the Patriots come out in both those comparisons. I think the Patriots offense is more talented, productive and proven than Denver’s defense. On the other side, I think the Patriots defense is capable of hanging with the Broncos limited offensive attack. Tebow is a great story and his winning has been fun for Denver. But a lot of guys “just win” for short stretches against questionable competition. They generally get exposed against better teams. Tebow and the Broncos will be exposed this week. Though I think Denver will try to throw more than expected, expect the Broncos to still struggle to put drives together. When they punt, expect Brady to turn it into points. Tebow will go three-and-out. Brady will go to the end zone. The score will increase in the Patriots favor and Tebowmania will be orange crushed. Look for the Patriots to pull out to the early lead and control the game on the way to the 35-9 victory. Rocky Mountain High!

Things sure look different from the other side of the fence, don’t they?

  30. shaztah says:

Another thing I don’t understand is when all the so called experts talk about the “ELITE” QB’s they leave one out. This QB has been to at least 3 SB’s that I have watched and won 2 of them. This QB does not throw a pretty ball and for a long time didn’t throw a lot. He still only throws an average of about 30 passes per game but he wins and has 2 rings. They say he hold the ball too long but he extends plays by moving around in the pocket etc. I know you guys know who I am referring to so why isn’t he considered elite?

  31. baylinorcrush says:

It’s the Winter so you don’t suffer from the drought as much, rain here and there but nothing to change the devestation suffered from it.

  32. seweatherman1 says:

    shaztah,
In the movie “Road House” wiyh Patrick Swayze, there was one sentence he said that answers all of your expert opinions. that one sentence was; “Opinions Vary!”

  33. seweatherman1 says:

Well hold on Bay. It’s going to get a lot worse before it gets better.

  34. baylinorcrush says:

Not sure what you are eluding to shaztah if you are talking about Elway, he is considered elite by anyone who ever saw the full length of his career, that’s why he was one of the very few first year eligible player voted into the HOF, don’t overthink everything, it really is simpler than that, like Finley is just saying what most folks in other locker rooms are thinking, Tebow will be soon exposed, that’s normal, every player wants other players to be put back down to size, and Tebow is megasized so they want him down to size that much more, that’s all.

  35. seweatherman1 says:

I liked that you put up from that Pats writer Bay, but have to disagree with his prediction. He left one important stat out of that. The Pats are what 1-6 against us at Mile High? That isn’t very good on there part.

  36. Henryac says:

What I am looking forward to is watching the NE No-Huddle try to operate for 4 quarters at a mile above sea-level. I wouldn’t be too surprised if it grinds to a halt in the 2nd half. I lived at altitude for 14 years and anyone who says it doesn’t make a difference should try it sometime! NE’s high flying offense may have more issues to deal with than Denver’s defense and their defense may be dragging earlier than they think. You tend to get a little clumsy when you get tired or winded. Should be fun to watch!

  37. shaztah says:

Actually I was referring to Big Ben LOL.

  38. baylinorcrush says:

Sorry I couldn’t read your mind, LOL.

  39. OrangeTsunami says:

Was only online for only a few mins last night after a holiday party, came accoss those quotes and thought I’d share.. Sounds like Sam Hurd was here last night.. ;)

I can’t wait to see our game plan on Sunday.. Do we take a few shots early, or do we try to have a long, time killing drive and keep it close for our halftime adjustments (severely overlooked, and McCoy should be giving credit)

Everyone’s knows that Brady has a loosing record vs. Denver, but I think I heard that so does Joe Montana.. Can’t wait for tomorrow, this game would be huge for me if we were 0-13, b/c it’s the Pat’s, their fans need to be put back in their place… LOL

  40. savinghyrule says:

I think this weekend’s game has the most total points scored of any of our games so far this season.

  41. baylinorcrush says:

    Green Bay game 72 points.

  42. savinghyrule says:

    Here ya go:

    NE 37
    DEN 41

  43. baylinorcrush says:

    MANDIEGO has it 42-37, eerie.

  44. baylinorcrush says:

    Sorry, he has Pats winning.

  45. OrangeTsunami says:

Our secondary has taken some big blows, with Thompson, Vaughn, Cox all gone.. Hopefully Harris will continue his solid play b/c he may get a lot of looks..

I think this game we may see the true effect of Dennis Allen. And for the record, write me down as saying that both Carter and Moore will work out

  46. OrangeTsunami says:

Having taken two safeties in the last draft, I can see us taking two corners in this draft.. I think I’d consider even trading up to get one of those LSU CB’s..

  47. daddybronc says:

I don’t know – KC loves Romeo!!! No doubt they lose…but

  48. OrangeTsunami says:

We may actually have a serious chance to land Kirkpatrick w/o moving, which would perfect.. Not that I’m looking ahead.. LOL

  49. baylinorcrush says:

It looks like db was typing in his sleep, LOL.

  50. OrangeTsunami says:

The draft is where we’ll distance ourselves from the Raiders.. They have a 5th and a 6th right now, but will get a few compensatory picks for Nnamdi and Miller..
