On Monday, Sports Illustrated provided extensive coverage on the Broncos’ unorthodox victory against the Chiefs.
Chris Burke analyzed why Denver’s rushing attack was able to be so successful against Kansas City in his weekly Break it Down column.
Peter King labeled the team’s victory as his top storyline of the week in his weekly Monday Morning Quarterback column. Later in the story, he went in-depth on the game, focusing on the team’s run-heavy gameplan. The story included a phone conversation he had with Head Coach John Fox following the win.
King named Fox and Offensive Coordinator Mike McCoy his co-coaches of the week for their game plan that the team executed successfully on Sunday against the Chiefs.
“I love coaches who tailor their teams to their talent, and not the other way around,” King wrote. “On Sunday, they won a game with 55 of their 63 plays runs. Fantastic.”

Peter King, rbf1′s most often quoted source, you’re slacking rbf1, LOL.
Stuart Zaas:
I e-mailed Caldwell last night to ask him to set the blog clock back one hour to have the correct time but to no avail yet. Please see what you can do to get it fixed. Thank you.
Lol – I know bay- haven’t had much time lately with projects at work.
Made me do a double take there bay! 35 points? That’s WOS material! lol
I think if you post it, it counts!! LMAO!
Score Prediction 19-13 Denver
Did anyone else notice Miller’s eyes light up in his press conference yesterday when he was asked what he thought about NE getting to Sanchez so often? I have a feeling that he and Doom have already started carving up the Jets’ o-line and the Jets don’t even realize it yet. I can’t wait to watch the havoc unfold in the Jets backfield! Semper Broncos!!!
What part of unofficial don’t you get? LOL.
As far as the contest goes, this is an interesting week to weigh in your options posting a Jets win since only two bloggers so far have done that.
Not trying to lead anyone into the wrong direction here and don’t hold me responsible for making the WOS if you do go with a Jet win, but if they did win it would be a sure thing to rack up minimum 3 points now as things stand is all I was saying.
Yeah, I was going to put up another WOS prediction but I thought better of it. I need to put up a realistic score otherwise I’m not backing my team LOL!
Getting to Sanchez is only half the battle, we need to shut down the run too. Has anyone heard the latest on LT’s status?
I almost picked the Jets to win 26-21, but since Tebow seems to be turning everything on it’s head, I chose to turn the prediction my numbers crunched out on their head. After all, the only numbers that REALLY matter are the ones in the W column, and so far Tim’s got those on his side. Semper Broncos!!
Some thing some people often miss:
Both Colquit (spelling?) brothers looked like really good kickers on Sunday! HOWEVER, I think Britton had the better showing and I think he is the better weapon!
WEAPON (yes – I said it) he is kicking like former player “Ray Guy” and as far as I’m concerned there is not a better punter in the league this season!!!
In fact our Special Team (with a few minor exceptions ((field goals between 40 -50 yeards))) HAS LOOKED AMAZING this year!!!
I would like/love to see Eddie Royal RETURNING PUNTS, but I am also impressed with Cosby and getting more confident by the week with his decision making.
GO BRONCOS!!!
I think it is going to be 16 to 14, the Broncos trailing in the 4th qtr. were on the Jets 30 yard line and Prater nails a 47 yd field goal for the vicotry.
I did read Kings score prediction for last week and he has us losing to KC (23-10) LOL!
Heading out on a business trip for the rest of the week…………..will try to get online and check in on things here leading up to our game and after.
Have a great day everyone………..
GO BRONCOS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
That’s why King was so impressed, LOL.
And Brian, I sincerely hope it doesn’t come down to a Prater FG, that guy is on my bad list since missing that 41 yarder Sunday that would of clinched first place for me in the contest. What a bum, haha.
Insight to the Decker Flag lol”http://sports.yahoo.com/nfl/blog/shutdown_corner/post/On-Veterans-Day-weekend-Decker-penalized-for-sa?urn=nfl-wp11807
Mike Horan and Tom Rouen (*Ruin*) both sucked as punters!!! and I remember wondering if Rouen would even get it beyond the line of scimmage at times!!! LOL
Go Britton – keep up the good work!!!
Have a safe trip killerkod!

Bay,
Would you agree about Tom Rouen??? LOL
Bay –
Looks like we got the clock fixed. All good?
The only way for Prater to truly get out of his 40-49 yarder funk is to literally kick his way out of it. As painful and gut wrenching having the game come down to a FG in his trouble range, that would hopefully give him a boost of confidence in that range leading to better accuracy within that range. Yeah, I hear you he’s missed some FGs that he should’ve made.
Thanks Gray, it just makes it black and white as far as contests deadlines are concerned.
Dang, I was getting really used to the time being the correct time for me in the CST zone. haha
Woot for having Jeremiah Johnson on the roster, and I think Broncos pull it out Thursday.
Broncos 24 – Jets 17
Yep LAX, I asked about that a couple blogs back. Personally I think they are takingh the hanky throwing a bit to far. The radio announcer from the field reported that he was penalized for “Tebowing”. The announcers in the booth were having a field day with it (Denver radio 850 announcers).
CRUSHER, actually Rouen holds the all time Bronco punting average record in a season in 1998 with a 46.9 yd per punt average, 66 punts for 3,097 yards.
If the league is indeed trying to maintain their image, they’re doing a pretty crappy job of it. They didn’t care about their image during the lockout but if you go to one knee and salute the armed forces after scoring a TD that’s hurting the league’s image? I’m confused? You can bet there will be a new rule next year about TD celebrations..only high a congratulatory hand shake will acceptable anything else is excessive.
Yeah Ruen tailed off in his final years then went to seatle lol… And yeah the excessive celebrations are getting ridiculous! It’s disgusting the fines being handed out then Scwartz and Harbraugh dont get any reprecussion as coaches
It’s the kneeling they don’t like, they have never flagged us for the Mile High salute standing up that I know of, and why would anybody do the military salute on one knee anyway, that’s just a mixed message anyway, I have no problem with that fine although it’s excessive, just me.
…the amount is excessive…
I still think its nit picking I saw I think Early ducet score and he was on his knees celebrating and his teammates swarmed him… That wasnt called but Decker giving a salute on one knee is called if it were consistent that would be fine but its not the case.
I haven’t heard of them fining any other players for going to one knee after scoring a td, and it is obvious that they are praying. I don’t understand what the big deal is. If they want to cut out celebrations of all kinds, then do it and see just how boring this game becomes.
Like I said earlier maybe they don’t want things getting carried away religion wise with players like with muslim background taking off their shoes and kneeling in prayer to Allah to celebrate a TD, I can see it, stop it before it gets out of control in this day and age of political correctness b.s.
Hey, did Tebow get a fine fore his knee drop?, this is gona get ugly, and it should be fun and spontanious. Down with Czar Goodell the 1st
Has to be lived with but I’m also speaking of fines for illegal hits like Von Miller getting fined when he shouldnt have its getting out of hand in that you can fine a player for hitting a QB but not Coaches who are chasing each other down the tunnel is all be consistent because that lses creadibility for the league
We’re here to play football on Sundays, right? Not going there for church or anything like that, and I like that aspect of it, always makes it weird to see all these players playing for god and thanking him on the field when we all know all they are playing for is money, the greater majority anyway, it just doesn’t jive.
Agreed to and extent if a players faith is something he wants to recognize in celebration I’m fine with that… It’s not show boating or anything… At the same time I think comments like god will tell me what to do or god will make it work out dont belong on the gridiron… God doesnt lead you to a 6 or 7 year contract with 50+ million on there… the money does lo lie you said bay
Great article in the Denver Post by Woody Paige today. It brings up the point that Elway and Fox do not believe in Tebow. Personally, I don’t care how many passes we throw. I don’t care how pretty it looks. All I care about are Wins. They really need to show some faith and confidence in Tim. If Tebow continues to Win and they make some crazy trade to draft a QB in next years draft. Elway and Fox will have an irrate fan base on their hands. Just my opinion.
Anyway I post something about how Goodell and the Union did great stuff for our vets players and only weatherman comments about it, and about this stupid Decker penalty multiple bloggers are up in arms over it. It think putting in a little perspective in what is important in this league and what is less important is in order. Thanks Union and Goodell for doing the right thing for the vets, much appreciated.
Yeah Big D we analyzed all that earlier this morning, good article indeed everyone should read.
I agree Bay. Those guys played in a time when there were virtually no illegal hits. They beat the tar out of their bodies. I am very pleased that Goodell and co. are taking appropriate actions to help them.
Ooopps…. I usually do not have a ton of time to read all of the previous blogs. Sorry about that!
I read it, n know the leagues stance towards vets, its good pr., donate the fine to the DAV. then, just thinking its a bit of a slippery slope, where does it end?
Sorry Bay didnt read that entire blog but definitly respect for that well deserved for players who were less protected during their time in the league being paid much less… Very good move by the Union and Goodell
Too many rules alread, imo., Whats lts sstatus , n get on some Broncos talk
From ESPN:
“The Broncos face the Jets Thursday night, which should be an interesting test if the Broncos continue the run-heavy approach. Since Rex Ryan took over as head coach, the Jets have allowed 3.75 yards per rush, the fourth-best rate in the NFL”.
That’s interesting… yet, the Jets are ranked 15th vs the run this season.
Must be an average based on Ryans time in NY.
Broncos 21 Jets 10 Are D is to much for the jets in this one. They are still tring to get over there lose on sunday.
Its one thing for the Jets to stop the run by stuffing the running back, its another thing tring to stop the run when its the QB, RB , FB, WR running it why not find a way to get it to Clady. The NFL as a whole is not set up to stop this kind of attack.
