On Monday, Head Coach Josh McDaniels said he was “hopeful” Renaldo Hill would be active for Week 16′s matchup with the Eagles.
Hill sat out last Sunday’s game against Oakland with an ankle injury and was a limited participant in practice on both Wednesday and Thursday.
McDaniels would like to have the ninth-year safety available against Philadelphia — and every week for that matter. Not just because of what he bring to the defense, but his value to the team as a whole.
“He is maybe as intelligent of a player as I’ve ever been around, and I’ve been around some smart ones,” McDaniels said. “This guy is very in tune with the entire game plan.”
Whether it be a defensive linemen, a linebacker or one of his secondary counterparts, Hill — with 96 pro starts to his name — is always there to lend a hand and answer a question when a teammate is in need of a quick adjustment, no matter if it is on the practice field, in the meeting room or in a game.
As a coach, McDaniels said it is comforting to know that a veteran such as Hill knows his responsibilities to a ‘T,’ and at the same time can correct another player if they are out of position or attacking their assignment the wrong way.
He’s one of those guys where you love to have a guy like that in the back end of your secondary because if there is something not quite right, he’ll make it right with whatever he does, even if it is not exactly the way you called it,” McDaniels said.
There were five changes to the Broncos’ Injury Report on Thursday. After not practicing on Wednesday, David Bruton (illness), was a full participant on Thursday, while D.J. Williams was a limited participant. After not practicing on Wednesday, Eddie Royal (neck/head) was a limited participant on Thursday. Ty Law (hamstring) was a limited participant on Wednesday, but he did not partake in Thursday’s practice session. After not being listed on Wednesday’s injury report, Spencer Larsen (hamstring) did not practice on Thursday.
There were three changes to Philadelphia’s Injury Report. After being listed as full participants on Wednesday, DE Victor Abiamiri (knee) and LB Akeem Jordan (knee) were not listed on Thursday’s injury report. WR Reggie Brown (shoulder), who was not listed on Wednesday’s report, was listed as a full participant in Thursday’s practice session.
Here are a few pictures from the onset of Thursday’s practice session.

Not much to say except…PLZ WIN!!! lmao
for a second I thought I saw “Hopeful for Hillis Return” then I realized it was “Hopeful for Hill’s Return” Damn! LOL
BY THE WAY, MERRY CHRISTMAS EVERYONE!!
I think this is going to be a dog fight and a close game. I predict a weird score with Denver winning 27-26. Go Broncos and Merry Christmas to all!
Please beat them and go to the playoffs thats all i want for Christmas
I love you Denver Broncos – please go to Philly and beat them – I love Brian Dawkins – what an asset he has been to the Broncos’ defense – what a great person – Brian I know you think Michael Jackson got weird but honestly he didn’t – he was one of the greatest people whose ever been – listen to his “Man in the Mirror” song or to “Save Earth” – maybe that will help you understand him better – it helped me to understand him better – I bring this up because on the NFL network there was a sound off where Brian Dawkins made the comment “I used to love Michael Jackson until he got weird” well – I just want to say – listen to that music – its the most beautiful I have ever heard
Hopefully, Correll Buckhalter plays. His big-play ability and assistance in the backfield will give us another weapon in the running game. He might be our team MVP for all we know. In any case, let’s get this win and go from there. GO BRONCOS!!!
elwaysgal, first of all Merry Christmas to all, as far as using this venue to address Dawkins about Michael Jackson is asking a bit much. I mean this is a violent game we are discussing, played by men and men only. To praise the virtues of a guy who spent his life trying to discolor himself and in the process reduced his nose to a tiny atrocity not to mention the effeminate maneurism he exhibited throughout is enough for me to justify a NFL football player calling him a freak, regardless of how talented you may think he was. So I propose we call him a talented freak, and hopefully we never have to mix MJ and professionel football players ever again, not a good match. LOL.
Merry Chrismas everyone!
Enjoy all those new Bronco Jerseys, Helments, Keychains, Mugs, Blankets and what everelse you get and have given. And if we all have been good Broncomaniics a playoff spot.
FTR
Sadly i understand why hillis hasnt played.
We have no other active fb on our roster. Since larsen has been hurt hillis has filled in at the fb position..Its a waste IMHO but what can you do i guess………..
merry christmas
my prediction 27-19 philly
merry christmas broncos family! Broncos win 24 to 23. thats my pick bay. and im betting i was on the wall of shame for my pick last week! lol
Go Broncos
“DEFENSE WINS CHAMPIONSHIPS”
rayjr26, just for you here is a re-post of last week picks to show you you did not make the wall of shame, barely, LOL.
BRONCOS 19 RAIDERS 20
Predictions result time!
Only 18 entries this week, I should of known, that was an omen for bad things to come…
Not many accolades to be had today, everyone posted us for a win and with a double digit margin, no less. Everyone but one, who had us winning by only 7 points, so here is recognizing the one who showed more wisdom than the rest of us, either by not underestimating the Raiders, or by not overestimating our offense, or both:
oldsouthstander 24-17
There are plenty more on the other end of the spectrum who could be made fun of this week, LOL, but as the list would include most everyone, I’ll reserve the following three for having giving us a good laugh with their picks:
Bronco Aussie 44-7
baby champ-broncos 44-6
and the guy who takes the pie a la mode in the face, LOL:
coachemup 55-16 (he jokingly referred to it as “the speed limit” when he made the pick, either way it’s a good joke both ways coach, LOL)
MERRY CHRISTMAS TO ALL once again, DINNER IS ABOUT TO BE SERVED, been slaving at it since this morning, the house smells so good you could eat it.
Good luck to the offensive line and running backs in picking up the blitz. We need to give orton enough time to find an open reciever and get the ball out. I expect Mike Nolan and Josh Mcdaniels to come up with a good game plan. I just hope the players are fired up going ino philly after such a loss, that made the entire bronco fan base sick and angry. But i think most of us are still hanging in there.
Merry Christmas
im thankful we got mike nolan as d cord every game da defense has been lights out til they out on da field fo 2 long coach please help b marsh out n lets score ppoints
