After being named the AFC Special Teams Player of the Week in Week 2, punt returner Trindon Holliday is ready to start winning more of them.
“It’s a big honor, you know,” Holliday said Thursday. “But I just have to keep going and try to get as many as possible.”
Holliday took a punt 81 yards for a score in the fourth quarter of Sunday’s win against the New York Giants. The touchdown put the Broncos out in front 34-16.
“I had waived my guys off,” he said of the bouncing punt. “Their punt team had kind of eased up, they thought I was not going to field it. When it bounced, it bounced into my hands. I saw the hole and I just hit it.”
In 19 career games, Holliday has five touchdowns on returns giving him a touchdown every 3.8 games. That mark is the best in NFL history. Holliday also won this award in Week 9 of last season.
