After selecting a 6-foot-7 quarterback, the Broncos went to the other end of the spectrum with their next pick, grabbing 5-foot-10 running back Ronnie Hillman.
Hillman said he hopes to come in and use his diverse skill set to carve a niche on the team.
“I’m just going to come in and try to win. That’s all I can do,” Hillman said. “I’m just bringing my versatility to the team and be able to create more offense and come in and learn from the vets.”
Hillman, who was once coached by Snoop Dogg as a youth football player, left San Diego State after his redshirt sophomore season as he works towards achieving his lifelong dream.
“I’m just excited. It’s been my dream to play in the NFL for a while,” Hillman said. “I’m just thankful.”

Welcome to Denver Mr. Hillman.
Hillman ready to break some ankles?
Fox said Hillman reminds him of Marshall Faulk. “He’s that dynamic. Kind of Sproles-like…pretty all-around running back.”
I hope so!!
man am I glad we got a bonafide homerun hitter in the backfield finally! We’ve needed that scat back type of playmaker all freakin decade.
AS LONG AS HE STAYS HEALTHY!!! ALways a concern with these types of guys and just high rated RB’S in general
Im worried about that Wolfe pick
alaska how did u like the draft. i thought it was ok . still have more picks to go.
How can you be worried about that pick??? Wolfe is a BEAST!!!
we should of taken Curry instead of Dan McGuire. remind me of the Orakpo mistake
i hope we draft better value players tomorrow. not taking anything from our selections but they seem like risky picks. hopefully we can draft Alfonzo Dennard or a Ryan Miller or possibly a Jerious Wright/Chris Rainey/Joe Adams for that slot wr or KR/PR
SBBF I love the Wolfe pick. I was pissed about Brock, more because I felt better value for players at other positions. But I calmed down and thought about it and I think its a solid move. Hillman is uknown to me but I LOVE what im hearing about him!!! Marshall Faulk like!!!!
AB, do you like wolfe? I think we get Crick with our next pick
i think we should draft Burfict in the 5th or 6th round
I dont think we go Crick. Elway said he wants 6 picks in round 2-4 to get a DT QB WR RB LB and a CB. Hes got the DT QB and RB. Now LB WR and CB. I hope we still get Ryan Miller though in the 5th.
yea i think if we draft Crick, he will have a serious chip on his shoulder because if it wasnt for his injury, he would have went 1st round
Burfict will be there in the 7th IMO and possibly even a UDFA.
yes, i agree love the wolfe pick thought we do something at the brock pick but dont mind it. and a rb is always good. cant wait till tommorow.
I thought we could have drafted Tremaine Johnson and still could have gotten a Lamar Miller or Hillman
Im going to post a list soon of about 10-15 players I like at LB WR and CB (Not each lol but total)
I really like what I’m reading on this Hillman kid.. We finally might use the dump pass….
what time dows the draft start tommorow.
Crick can play DT/DE hes a cant miss player, and we need another guy on the line. One of our next 2 has to be Crick, they took along look at him, they want him.
Hillman averaged 131 yards per game last year
OT, should be about 12 est time
why is Lamar Miller still on the board?
meant socal
thanks miller. go to set the dvr.
MT They also looked at Reyes and Turbin a lot also. Had a chance for both neither now part of Denver.
Nasty Miller like Polk has questions about durability.
Draft starts 12 pm ET 9 PT 8 here in AK time lol
I’m really happy with our picks but could someone tell me what remaining choices we have?Go Broncos!!
That was a rhyme millertime!
So was that!! Haha
I think the wolfe pick was a solid pick. both smart and safe and the guy has gap discipline and consistency. hard worker and tons of upside. not the highest motor and doesnt explode off the line like Still or Worthy. Was hoping we’d pick worthy but alas…I think EFX were hoping he would fall to us at pick 57. but wolfe is the next best thing so its all good.
i hope we trade our 5th or 6th for Osi
101 108 and 137 I believe are our remaining picks.
Nasty Osi is old and wants a lot of money. Money and that he doesnt start is why he wants out of NYG. We seriously cant afford him. We cant give him the money he want and he would be a cancer till he gets it or leaves.
@alaskan oh true..
i just hope we can add another edge rusher. i was hoping for Mercillus or Vinny Curry
Nasty if he wasnt as old and didnt want that money i would be calling for it. Freeny is supposedly being shopped as he doesnt fit the Colts new 3-4 D.
Nasty you wernt the only one hoping for Curry……
I heard today in the local media that the Giants won’t trade Osi
AB, I say crick, I was so excited eariler when I was reading all your different senarios lol, none of them panned out, but I still like your imput bro. Im going with Crick tomorrow morning with 101 or 108, and, Taamu is still their also, maybe we get both who knows anymore.
then we should trade our 6th rounder for Freeney.. Doom, Miller, Wolfe and Freeney would be nice
what would freeney want $ wise.
AB, do we have 5 more or 4 more pics.
@socal hes not asking for money
how old is he. not bad maybe start him at a 1 yr contract.
We have a 6th round pick too. In the 150′s I believe
Goodnight Bronco Country, I will Brock to you guys later.
Tomorrow brings rounds four through seven of the 2012 NFL Draft — the third and final day of the event. Denver’s remaining picks are as follows:
Round 4, Pick 6 (101)
(From Jaguars through Buccaneers)
Round 4, Pick 13 (108)
(From Jets)
Round 5, Pick 2 (137)
(From Rams)
Round 6, Pick 18 (188)
(From Jets)
He doesnt want to leave indy (Freeny) but the new staff dont feel he fits the 3-4
MT I figured it wouldnt pan out. But I find doing that stuff FUN!!! I enjoy doing it!!! I try to throw out many scenarios as possible.
Also MT Im going off what Elway said yesterday. In explaining why they traded back he said they want 6 picks in the 2-4 rounds. We got 3 of the 6 so i think LB WR or CB will be the next few picks. Might have a trade back into the 4th to get the third. Thats my opinion going off what Elway said. They are disciplined and stick to their plans.
