While the backfield will take a hit for this Sunday’s game, other positions are getting healthier as the Broncos prepare to head to Tennessee to take on the Titans.
Head Coach Josh McDaniels said he expects Andre’ Goodman and Ryan Harris to be able to suit up for the Week 4 clash. Both players missed last week’s loss to the Indianapolis Colts.
If Harris steps back into his starting role at right tackle, that would push Zane Beadles out of the lineup, but McDaniels is excited for what that would do to the depth of the offensive line.
“I think he’d be a really solid sixth lineman for us if he’s not starting because he has versatility to play inside and he can also be our third tackle and he’s done admirably there,” he said of Beadles. “So, if that’s the role he ends up fitting into, that’s fine.”
On the other side of the spectrum, the head coach said Knowshon Moreno and Spencer Larsen will most likely sit out Sunday’s game. That leaves Correll Buckhalter, Laurence Maroney and Andre Brown as the three running backs in the rotation, and tight end Dan Gronkowski has a chance to spend time as a fullback — something he did on occasion last week against the Colts.
“Gronkowski could play in the backfield a little bit more than what you have seen so far,” McDaniels said. “(He) did a good job last week of filling in for Spencer when Spencer went out, so it could happen more this week.”
As for the rest of the injury report, — Brian Dawkins (ankle) is listed as probable after participating fully in practice on Thursday and Friday, Goodman and Harris are officially listed as questionable, and Larsen, Moreno and Wesley Woodyard (hamstring) are officially out for the game.
Below are photos from Friday’s practice session.

Very good news to have Goody and Harris back. Hopefully Harris is 100% and can dominate like he did before the injury bug bit him last year. That stinks that Moreno and Larsen will most likely be out but I feel we can be successful without them for a game. Also, if we don’t see more production out of Bucky soon I feel this will be his last year. He looked explosive at times last season but I have seen nothing that resembles explosiveness this year. I will echo Baylin in regards to Brown. I would like to see what this 224 pounder can do. Or will he just be another player we have who silently rides the pine all year and never gets a chance to help us?
Man, we are so used to fast starts in Bronco Country so this season thus far has been difficult to handle for many of us. But we all saw it coming. We have a very tough schedule for the first 6 games. I hope and pray we can come out even. I also have noticed that McD is putting a big emphasis on getting better as the season wears on. I really hope that works out or we could be in for a very rough season. Let’s hope that McD’s master plan unravels the way he is expecting. Hey, at least we aren’t Raider or Lion fans, they have really endured some terrible football for several years now.
Gosh, I sure did say HOPE a lot. But thats all I can do now is HOPE for the best. Many of us have closely analyzed and ridiculed McD, and righfully so. He did seem very positve and upbeat in Thursday’s press conference. So I really HOPE he knows something that we do not.
Let’s go Broncos. Lets get this ship on course.
I LOVE ME SOME DENVER BRONCOS…..
Great news for Goody and Harris, heck Ya!!!!
That is fantastic news! Lets start playing some Bronco football!
Even though we are 1-2 we have not yet lost a single game in our division.
Hopefully our backfield can get healthy and we truly play our best football in November and December.
Orange you glad you love the Broncos!!!
both players key to winning in the future.
my prediction, vince young gets benched in the 3rd qaurter and broncos win 24-10
Bronco`s win 31-20.
It’s coming together. O line finally in place, defense pretty much intact, passing game looks good, kicking game is fine. Need Larsen and Moreno and we have our whole team together pretty much, finally. No turnovers, show improvement in the running game and improved special teams play and we have a fighting chance to win any game any Sunday. Go TEAM Broncos!
Great to hear Goody and Harris are going to be able to play!!!!!!!!!
I don’t get what McD is trying to say when he says Beadles will be a solid 6th linemen,a second round pick not starting???
Thomas 1st rounder-not a starter
Tebow 1st rounder-not a starter
Beadles 2nd rounder-not a starter
The only player we drafted that is starting is J.D.Walton-Center,how many other teams does this????????
1st and 2nd rounders are starters, not backups unless you’re stacked at every position.
You’d think we won the Superbowl last year, who in the Hell can afford to draft 1st and 2nd rounders for backups???
All I know is we better address Dline and LBs in next years draft.
Thats why KC is looking so good right now they drafted impact players, and there putting them in the starting lineup where they belong.
Broncos win 28-17. Champ with a pick 6 on Young. They have to stop CJ though.
VERY WELL PUT BFE! VERY WELL PUT!
I agree BFE. It is pretty annoying that we draft these guys and harldly ever use them. AAARRRRRGGGGGHHHH
Glad Harris is back out there. GO BRONCOS!!!!!!!!!!
glad those boys are back in the line up. now is the time to start executing in the 4th quarter and the red zone and start winning some games. if we win this weekend thats a hell of a statement for the rest of the nfl. go broncos
I hope we contain CJ2k….If we can, i will 100% fully believe and trust in our rush defense this year. I feel our teams played great!!! I Dont see what most of you guys are whining about our team sucking…The only thing that has sucked is our red zone Offense…As soon as we fix that well be on the right track.
24-20 Broncos win.
Stop CJ, be at least evens on turnovers. We win.
Look at the size difference between Clady and Walton then look at scrawny McD,haha.Well I guess I’ll worry about the game when I watch it,Sunday, for now it’s 5:00 (BEER THIRTY) so CHEERS TO ALL OF BRONCOS COUNTRY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
BTW….I’ll drink one for you Baylin and you too OC.LOL
BFE
Man, It’s only 3:00 here! I still have to wait for a half an hour before I unparch my self…haha
Bronc On BFE!!!!
wow! this will be a tough matchup…offensivly they have two probowl Tackles(stewart and roos). so our DL push might be stalled at most times(not that it was affective those first 3 weeks)..I keep hoping that the next game they’d get into the groove and breakout…dont allow Young time to scramble, watch for CJ screen plays and his outsanding cutmoves..wow!
I liked how the defense played Clark and Wayne last week. disrupt Clark off the line (double him) and let Bailey cover their #1 (wayne). I guess we missed Goodman last week…sorry for bringin it back again. felt bad for Cox, baptized by non other than Peyton. its a learning process.
Its always great to see everyone getting healthy again..lets get that running game going fellas..GO BRONCOS!
Think this game is gonna be close. Broncos are the more talented team. Containing CJ will be huge. If we can get up early on them and force them to air it out….broncos will win easy. Our front 7 is gonna in for quite a battle. Defense will be on the field for long/time consuming drives. hope they dont get too tired. We will win or lose this game by our front 7. 20-17 Broncos.
@bfe thomas is a rookie and he just returned from the injury list do u want him to go back and get injured. i could see if we where struggling… WE HAVE THE NUMBER ONE PASSING OFFENSE IN DA LEAGUE…. thomas waiting is not that bad….. beadles is not better than clady harris kuper daniels are j.d if so he would be starting…..
41-28 Broncos
kc does look good but we did to last year for the first 6 games… lets just see how the handle a lost….. that franchise has been struggling for a while so if they lose one game it is going to do a lot to them mentality
The problem with always drafting the best available player instead of drafting for need is what you are seeing in Denver now. Our backup early pics could start but we need more talent ,especially young talent at certain other positions but the players that were available were not the very best players in the draft. No offense to the guys, but I don’t like older players at running back, they wear down quickly and become injury prone. Sure, the youngs make more mistakes but at least they gain a few yards once in a while to make up for it.
Glad Goody and especially Harris are going to be back this week. Harris is special, when he is healthy, nobody can beat him, I mean nobody! Go Broncos!
Maniac,
The McDaniels Broncos have only scored 40 points one time in 27 games…
I just don’t see the McDOrton O putting up 41 in Tennessee, but keep on dreaming Maniac…lol never hurts to dream, until you wake up on Monday with a hangover…lol kddn
elwayallday,
You shouldn’t be afraid to play first round players because you worrie they might get hurt again… You sound a little like a helicopter parent trying to protect your kid from injury by not letting him join the team…
What good does it do for the team or the team budget to even pick guys in the first round if they can’t or won’t be expected to contribute… We might as well trade all of our future 1st round picks for 3rd rounders so they can all sit on the sideline for a year or two and it won’t cost us an arm and a leg to keep the bench warm…
Bottom Line Is that Smart teams draft players in the first round who can, and are expected to, contribute immediately and often…
Your view is exactly the reflection of McD’s on the sitiation and I respectfully disagree…
ILMSDB!!!
BFE, I just got back from the pub, no need to drink one for me, even so I much appreciate it, but I’m pretty well lit up on my own, haha. Love that good beer. We just got a new arrival at the Dig Pub, from a brand new micro berewery in Austin, that beer is called the “beer bucket”, an awesome IPA, good thing I didn’t drink a bucket of it, LOL, at 7% alc. I’d never make it home.
Anyhow, out having some fun tonight and for the week-end on my own because my wife has hooked up with her best friend, an alumni Oklahoma Sooners girl to go see the Red River game in Dallas tomorrow, huge game in this neck of the woods.
So cheerios everyone, may the musical miracle be on our side tomorrow.
And by the way, better place your score predictions soon, tomorrow is the last day, no picks on game day!

The problem with always drafting the best available player instead of drafting for need is what you are seeing in Denver now.
Smartest thing I have read about the Broncos in weeks… Good job imready….!
Well yeah, that is what McD does and always claims to do, he always picks the best players available. And I for one thing that is asinine. If you want to assemble the best team possible, pick by needs, how in the heck are you gonna assemble a great team with 26 great Wr’s and 1 LB. Ok that was a far fetch scenario, but that is what McD is doing in essence, great WR here and there, I draft, I draft, and well I don’t like the LB’s available so I don’t draft. HOW ARE YOU GOING TO JUSTIFY THAT? Draft by needs, dumbbell! Of course he adressed the O line in the draft, so he can’t be all that bad…. But yet not adressing LB’S or power backs in the same draft can’t make him that good.
It’s a connundrum I tell you!!!
But yeah imready, ditto congrats for pointing it out now.
Take the idea of drafting only for the best player available and then compound that with the idea of being afraid to start the players drafted early… and, Shazam!
ILMSDB! W or L!
I really think it would be more entertaining to watch the L with a T instead of an O…. just typin..lol
I may be dreaming, OC, but I think it could happen. The Giants had over 500 yards of offense and we have a better offense than them. The only issue is getting into the endzone, but I almost think last week was a fluke. I doubt a dismal redzone performance like that will happen again. Remember, three of the point-less trips were turnover on downs. We could have had field goals if we’d wanted, but McD gambled for more and lost. I just can’t see this being a low scoring game. Not when both offenses are explosive (well, Tennessee’s offense is explosive, ours is just heavy weaponry).
I really don’t believe our problem on offense lies at the QB position. Matter of fact it one big glaring position. It’s H… er, RB.
Without a run game, there is no realistic chance in the red zone.
I hate the loses just as much as everyone else. But we must have the best players out there that give us the best chance to win. Orton is that guy at that position. Tebow is 3rd. So until were mathematically eliminated…
Get Healthy, GO BRONCOS 2K10!
I like the way you think Maniac… I hope beyond hope you are right and I am wrong.. I hope the Broncos score 40+ points in Tenn!
Get-Er-Done Broncos!!!!!
i believe we have a great group of guys. the team is performing well we played a really great game other than those big mistakes. We lost to probably one of the best teams in the NFL and we went toe to toe for a little bit. if we had champ it would have been a different story. Right now i read our offence right now is one of the best this year we fix that redzone problem i think we will be fine. i hear a lot of people on here complaining about the guys we drafted people saying Why isn’t MCD playing those guys. Well it could be as simple as those guys might not be ready yet we are not in there practices or in there locker rooms. Im sure if they where ready they would play it would be stupid to keep a player out that was out performing other guy that was starting. I’m just saying why reflect on what could these our the guys have and right now nothing going to change that.
Thanks for agreeing OC and Baylin….just trying to get my point across that 1st rounders should start and we DO need to draft players of NEED and not BPAs,thanks guys.GO BRONCS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!remember I said 20-17 first(I’ve seen quite a few 20-17 predictions)LOL.
sndvl…I believe our problem lies at the coaching position, jomho.
BFE
Baylin did you say a beer with 7% alchohol WOW!!!!!!! I thought anything above 5.9 was considered malt liquor, what was the name of the beer, and most importantly can I get some in TN?????????
OC…..I drank the Milla Lite fridge keg last weekend, and it was GOOD I do love the draft beer, but I’m back on the BL this weekend,I guess more my style anyway since I like to go to the river and lake, hard to keep the keg cold there.haha.
GIT-R-DONE BRONCS,BEAT THE HELL OUTTA MY HOME STATE TITANS,HAHA.
I HAVE ALWAYS AND WILL NOW AND FOREVER BLEED ORANGE AND BLUE.
HOW ABOUT A LITTLE T-BONE SUNDAY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Broncos win. 27-21.
I just remembered me,OC,and Baylin were talking about going to the Broncos/Titans game and meeting up there, sorry guys I totally forgot until now, sorry for letting you guys down,I should’ve gotten the tickets and set it up before the last minute,I could see us now (me and my Bud Light hollering A-X-E-M-c-D,..OC and his Milla Lite Vortex shouting T-e-b-o-w,and Baylin and his 7% beer shouting P-o-w-e-r-b-a-c-k) what a day that would be to remember, glad to be a part of the Bronco family with the likes of you guys, life is good!!!!!!!
Seriously whats the combines record of the teams kc has played like a 1-6 and d\Denver in the hurt locker with some of the best teams in football we finish this first month at .500 we will go on a tear after and most likely win this division that’s the main difference between Denver and KC
It don’t matter who you play,it’s the win loss record that gets you to the division title and the playoffs.
We went 6-0 last year with a pretty damn tough schedule I might add.I think 4 of our 6 wins were against NE,Cincy,Dallas, and SD.And then the bottom fell out.
Just because you win against supposidly easy teams don’t mean squat,we went 6-0 against a supposidly tough schedule last year and then lost against some supposidly bad teams, this is the NFL dude where a win is a win no matter who you play, just saying.
This game will be close. I think we’ll have the last meaningful possession, but will fall short on that drive.
20-17 Titans
Another 20-17 score Baylin, but this time it’s us on the losing end.haha
No disrespect IKiratuki,it’s just a thang.haha.
wow, thats a very honest prediction Ikiratuki…
unless the redzone offense improves we cant always depend on playaction deep passes..although I say Orton shows he can go deep leading the league in passes completed over 25yrds +
Orton needs some zip in the endzone or master that fade.
Theyll surely have their hands full w/ our passoffense. CAUTION!Beware of Hope and Griffen in the back..lol..not too long ago they were leading the league in INTs..
b20….true so true bro. That my friend is a fact indeed.
2:00 AM on the East coast on a Friday Night, where all you West Coast and Mountaintimers at?????? LOL.Only 12:00 am there.
Anyone know what the site is for Aussie, cause I know he’s up,ayh….
I hope McD still knows how to call a FG try, cause that could be the difference in this game,5 times inside the freaking 20 = 15 points last week,we lost by 14 pts.DO THE DAMN MATH.
“The problem with always drafting the best available player instead of drafting for need is what you are seeing in Denver now.”
Well, I though most of us(if not all) wanted to draft a QB after a year w/o Cutler… Didn’t we… Unless you saw Orton throwing nearly 500 yds a year ago.
We let B- Marsh go to Miami, didn’t you think it was reasonable enough to go for a potential play-maker at the position we just sufferd a loss??
If those were not 2 key positions we needed to address, I guess I’m more than glad you’re not the coaches of this team…
Problems in the D-line of course needs some attention, bu if we could get a group(the sameone) of guys together for more than a year, with the same system, there should be some improvemente, especially if you make some key additions via free agency(Jamal Williams).
So, if you think D-Thomas and TT were not the type of players(or the positions) we needed to fill for a “better future”, I don’t want to Imagine what would you do in that spot….
Have faith Broncos Country, 28-17 Broncos …..
I need to say as well that I totally agree with BFE…
“I don’t get what McD is trying to say when he says Beadles will be a solid 6th linemen,a second round pick not starting???
Thomas 1st rounder-not a starter
Tebow 1st rounder-not a starter
Beadles 2nd rounder-not a starter
The only player we drafted that is starting is J.D.Walton-Center,how many other teams does this????????
1st and 2nd rounders are starters, not backups unless you’re stacked at every position.”
That is a key factor if you want to turn-over a bad(or a losing) season. You need to get guys you think could help you out right away coming of the first 2 rounds of the draft.
Well said BFE. I not saying something totally different from my last post, is just that QB is a position you probably want to hold a little bit, for them learn playbook, system, whatever… WR, Thomas coming from Injury and spend like half of training camp out… Do not worry, he’ll be starting soon if not sunday…
