A little Broncos news — Goose Gonsoulin makes an appearance in the latest issue of Sports Illustrated.
It’s the 10th Annual “Where Are They Now?” edition and Gonsoulin is part of a feature on the AFL.
Here’s a link to the article posted online at SI.com.

Nice great broncos news, first post
3rd post!!!
4th post!!!
Nice article. Goose was even before my time (don’t start anyone) but I read up on him and saw some highlights. Old school football.
Goose Gonsolin was one of my picks in the 50th anniversary team.
He was super outstanding for his time….if it wasn’t for him on Defense and Lionel Taylor on Offense, the Broncos may not have been in existence in Denver….you can’t say that about other players on the 50th team…if it wasn’t for them, Floyd Little, and John Elway may have played in a different city!

12,907,555,786,012th POST!
sorry, my counting was off! you never know when 12,907,555,786,000 people post at the same time…lol
To me, when I think of a #23 on the Broncos, it’s Sammy Winder, but I am an NFL historian (at least I want to be one at the Hall of Fame one day) and I’ve heard a lot about Goose. He has memorabilia in the HOF so that’s pretty neat. Guess what, fellow denizens of Bronco Country, one month from today, we begin our preseason against the 49ers in San Fran. Of course, we’ll win. That will be something that becomes common to us. GO BRONCOS!!!
i’m the most important post
=-/…..ANy way, i know we dont prob have the cap space but like i said before…Who also thinks we should grab Derrick Brooks and Ashley lelle (spelling) for a 1 year contract?
Grabbing Brooks for 1Yr ….hmmm.
I believe it could be a reciprical situation to the likes of what happened to the 49′ers the year they signed Deion Sanders as a FA for 1Yr(simply because they wanted to patch a particular WEAK SPOT on that Defense)
Result: Won SuperBowl!!
Now, am I saying SuperBowl will be the Result, …well let’s just say I’m not saying it won’t! However, these are the “Key” attributes missing causing the visible WEAK SPOT at the ILB position:
-Intensity at the point of Contact
-A solid Run Stuffer
-Smart “Reads”
-The Ability to VERBALLY Sustain Leadership from the Front 7
Conclusion: Derrick Brooks is the Most Deserving and Qualified to Attribute our team as an Asset on Defense.
Usually Defenses that have 1 Pro Bowl ILB, 1 Pro Bowl CB, and 1 Pro Bowl S, on the same team fair very well during the season as being Stout!!!!
who knows, Maybe 1 Yr….could send him in Retirement on a good note!!!
Brooks is better in a Tampa 2 Situation.
Brooks played 4-3 in the Tampa 2. do you guys really think he would want to go through all the work and make the transition this late in his carreer? plus he might not even do well in a 3-4.
They have to raise and grow the team we have now. Getting a player for just 1 or 2 yr as a stop gap. Is not good now. Earlier yeah in the off-season. They should bring another person in if someone gets hurt. We need play and teach the players we have now. they young, ready and willing. Give them a chance to fell. The way people talk. I thought we might be playing the 08 season over again. Better D coach and stucture will make a very good D. Just wait and see.
Hey guys, this is my first post, so I’m glad to finally do this. I just wanted to say that I’m glad for all the changes that the Broncos have made this year. I can’t wait to see the Broncos win the AFC West this year!
welcome Doomervilrocks92
Thanks
Thank you
Actually I am the first to post as all of you are a day behind me HAHAHAHA and Aussiebronco your 2 hours behind me!
BTW – Trent Barret is scum and so is Waterhouse!
Lellie sucked the first time he was a Bronco. The only change his abilities has made is that they’ve deterioriated.
