well i think this will do good things for the organization. at least we shouldnt be giving up 30 something points per game. which means we dont NEED to have the most high powered offense in the league! definately a change of philosophy that im looking forward to. ive been saying for a long time now that you have to have 2 things to be competitive in this league... play good defense and run the ball! PERIOD!! if you can do those things then you will be a competitive football team. i do however, hope that we get an agressive play caller for OC. love running the football, but sometimes i think you need to be able to attack through the air also! basically a good balance on Offense is what im hoping for.

I like the Fox hire...do not like that he is going to be forced to play Tebow, but I do like the Fox hire. I think that in a real sense, Fox is going to have a hard time, if by botht the accounts of Elway and Fox Tebow is not a "good NFL Quarterback" how are we going to be able to have success in a quick fashion which is what Elway and the organization seem to want. There seems to be a intense need to not "rebuild" but to rather "restore. I think the Fox hire was made because of all the coaching prospects, he was the only one that did it with a "subpar" qb not to mention his defensive mindset. Fox truly has to come in and clean up the mess leeft by the Mcdaniels regime. It is going to be an interesting ride.

I mentioned Roy Helu on this blog like a few weeks ago. I like him as well 88

Bronco wild, wow clay is not a running back, he is built like a freaking juggernaut sheesh lol. saw some video. nice...he moves pretty well for his size too. and currently stocked in the 4th round. unfortunately we don't have any 4th or 5th round picks (yet). I like him tho (minus the fact that he is coming off injury) at 255 i expect him to be more durable but maybe it was a freak accident. I dont like Lance Ball. I think he sux. He is a OK runner...but he is HORRIBLE at recieving and i mean horrible. Dropped so many passes in preseason and in real season dropped a deep Tebow bomb that coulda been a TD against the raiders...not a fan AT ALL. If you gonna suck at receiving (and blitz pick up) you better be a damn good runner. Up side about Clay is 1st position RB 2nd postion FB. So we can use him either way. Doubt we get him but nice eye.

It's funny ESPN is already scrutinizing Cam Newton for running a Spread, option based offense. Sound familiar haha? I am now a firm believer that Todd McShay doesn't understand the heart of football. It's all statistics and putting together formula for NFL players that completely exclude heart and leadership ability. He said if Tebow went in the first round Cam Newton has to too. He compared Newtons style to Vince Young and said Vince Young's skills never translated to the NFL. Well last I checked Vince Young has been voted to two pro bowls, has a win loss record to the tune of 26-14, and finished his 2010 season with a passer rating of 98.6 after playing 9 games. Yes I can count the number of better Quartebacks with two hands, but he's better than more than half the starters in the league and certainly better than the couple dozen 2nd and 3rd stringers out there. I wouldn't say his skills haven't translated. Personally I don't care about Vince Young. I care even less about Cam Newton but this is a prime example of analysts focusing soley on mechanics and statistics as if you can crunch some numbers in the old computer and have the perfect formula for drafting. I guess that's why they're analysts and GMs. Losers.

Yea, I think it would just be better with getting Williams out of FA and not having to give up any draft picks! Because with Williams, Moreno, White, Ball...I think we would be great at the running game but that is just me!!

Ya, Clay is definitely a little bigger and harder to tackle. But I kinda see a poor man's Terrell Davis when I watch Helu, which is I think why I like him. But I like both of them. Basically I think we need someone to at least take some of the load off Moreno whether that's through free agency or drafting someone. Or Maybe Lendale White coming back from injury. Though I'm not completely sold on him at the moment. He looked OK during the preseason but not amazing.

But yeah, the running game needs to improve somehow.

roy helu is only 6-0 and weights 220 but john clay is 6-1 and weights 255. I dont see a lot of linebacker wanting to tackle someone that is that big.

Speaking of Clay, Roy Helu from Nebraska is another name to consider. He and Clay are both downhill runners who lower their shoulders and finish runs with aggression. I'd love it if we got either one of them.
