With players off Monday, Head Coach John Fox said he wouldn’t make an announcement on the quarterback position during his afternoon press conference.
“That’s something that we’ll evaluate and we’ll meet,” Fox said. “The way we’ll operate is we’ll communicate with the people involved and the team long before we announce it.”
But after staff meetings later in the afternoon and the chance to meet with players tomorrow, the head coach said he’ll likely be ready to discuss the situation on Tuesday.
“I’d say there would be a strong likelihood that we will address that tomorrow,” he said.
As for what would go into his decision on who will start after the bye week, Fox said “everything.”
“You evaluate everything,” he said. “When you make decisions in your heart and in your mind, it’s what’s best for the football team. Whatever direction we go, that will be the number one thing in mind.”

LLoyd will be back on the Tebow wagon when he starts,he threw Tebow under the wagon when he knew Orton was starting this season.LLoyd is a good WR,but is a big time suck up!!!
Maaaan, Beast I am so excited! I haven’t been this excited about Bronco football since 2005!
I think with Tebow in the backfield with MaGahee and Moreno we got a pretty good Offense,MaGahee can run,Moreno can catch, and Tebow can pass or run!
Just hope the Oline steps up every week and plays great pass block and run block like they did yesterday. They done a great job!!!
WHAT TOOK SO LONG!!!!!
ITS TEBOW TIME!
Theres no way Fox can go back to Orton now
Me too bro!!
Lloyd should have remembered the old adage, “Be careful the toes you step on today. They may be connected to the a$$ you have to kiss tomorrow!”
Man… been a while since the blogs been this buzzing … all new blogs are filled with many comments and quite honestly I can’t keep up but im happy to see some passion back in the fans.
I wish we hadn’t lost so many games cuz I woulda believed in a comeback to win the division (anythigns possible) … but with 4 losses already — we only have room for like 2 more loses maybe 3 (My prediction was 9-7). We would be hard pressed to make a comeback but I believe my prediction can still be possible … at least I hope. Because when I was predicting … I was anticipating TT taking over after bye week but even then I thought we would be 3-2 right now.
Later days, TRB out…
Please … TT gave Lloyd more chances to make a play Sunday than Orton … all the guy wants are his catches … im sure he is excited for TT if TT keeps giving him chances to make a play … and the guy can make plays. TRB
I never felt like Lloyd was hard on Tebow or negative about him. When he thought he was going to start he said he was ready and excited. The only comment was about the “Tebow Thing” and he said it had to be resolved one way or the other. More of a comment on the situation than the man.
Lloyd’s contract expires this year so we need to get him re-signed. Tim will need a guy he can throw it up to and have a chance at making a big play.
This just in, Kevin Vickerson has been placed on IR.
Bummer, one less DL one of our weakest position.
WHAT???? What happend to Vickerson?
Eventually my boy Willis will be one of the deep threat for Tebow, they have worked together on second teams for a long time.
we picked up some FB off of the Titans waivers. I don`t know his name. I heard this moments ago on 850 KOA.
Don`t know yet.
For the blogger earlier who wondered why they benched Miller most of the game, by Legwold:
The Broncos believe Von Miller can be a “special” player — that’s head coach John Fox’s word — and that he is already a special pass rusher.
The pass rusher in him has been just that, as he leads the team with five sacks after five games.
But the Broncos also benched their No. 1 pick on Sunday, taking him out of their 4-3 base defense for much of the day. And while the Broncos aren’t going to point to specific plays in the public forum, there were two plays in the first quarter that show why the Broncos felt the need to put Miller on the sideline.
With just over 11 minutes left in the first quarter, Miller was lined up on the defensive left, standing up. At the snap, he charged upfield for what was clearly a pass play. But the Chargers, knowing Miller would come up the field hard, didn’t keep running back Mike Tolbert in to block.
Instead, Tolbert sneaked out of the backfield just inside of Miller. Miller clearly saw Tolbert run by him, and he turned to chase the running back. But by then it was too late.
Philip Rivers hit Tolbert for a 17-yard gain that also featured three missed tackles.
Later in the quarter, Miller was on the defensive right, standing up just outside the right shoulder of defensive end Jason Hunter. It was a first-and-10 play, a more likely run down and the Broncos were in a run-defense look.
At the snap Miller charged upfield and tight end Randy McMichael simply kept pushing Miller, riding Miller out of the play. At one point Miller is deeper in the backfield than quarterback Philip Rivers, who handed the ball to Ryan Mathews.
Mathews then ran into the big gap left behind for a 36-yard gain.
Mario Haggan replaced Miller on the next snap the Broncos played in their base defense, two plays later. The Broncos love Miller’s explosiveness in pass-rush situations, but want him to play with more discipline in other parts of his game as well.
Okay, just rewatched the final play of the game. SD CB big time guilty of Pass Interference. He pushed Willis out of bounds while the ball was in the air and he had his back to the play. Willis had he not had to come back 5 yards or so, would’ve had a better play on the ball.
Though if he had caught it, my guess is the refs would’ve waived it off as he had not reestablish position on the field and can’t be the first player to touch the ball or some crazy call.
But yeah the refs blew that call. Along with the Unecessary Roughness on the Chargers last drive, that no one else saw.
Most of you guys here know how hard I am on DJ all the time, this certainly did not help his case, by Lindsay Jones:
The Broncos were penalized four times for 53 yards in Sunday’s 29-24 loss to San Diego, none more costly than the 15-yard personal foul on linebacker D.J. Williams, for head-butting San Diego guard Kris Dielman late in the fourth quarter.
It wasn’t a hard head-butt, but it was right in front of the game official.
Instead of the Chargers facing a third-and-5 at the Denver 37 yard line, the penalty gave San Diego a first down at the 22. Kicker Nick Novak eventually kicked a field goal to extend the Chargers’ lead from 2 points to 5 points with
“That’s the one that really hurt, because we still had a fighting chance right there,” cornerback Champ Bailey said.
Williams declined an interview request with The Denver Post after the game, and later avoided a crowd of reporters waiting by his locker.
DJ is not a straight up guy, couldn’t even face the music on that head butt, sad.
I’d be shocked if Orton takes another starting snap for us.
I am shocked how happy everybody is after another loss. Guess that’s the Tebow impact.
Off to our worst start since 1999. And we lose a starter in our weakest position on D.
Dawkins with a neck injury to boot? That can’t be good.
Guess it’s a good thing our bye week is here.
Crick in 2012!
I just now got back from the DP and read the story, very dumb thing by DJ.
Jared Crick DT.
DJ should know better than that. He is undoubtedly one of our top defensive players but he is not a leader and should not be that role. I think the worst part is that he declined to comment. He should have faced the music.
Petty call though. Games over, time to move on.
new blog about the new FB.
Well I was at my buddies house on Sunday watching the game, Sucks I have to go to a Stealer house to get the game but just as I was going to get out my paper bag at half time…..TIMMAH!!!!oh yeah! Game On!!! after the smoke settled we still lost, but I never felt more like a winner. All I can say is Miami If Timmahhh!!! starts you dead meat. Our D is allmost there,BDAWK get well we need you bad. I mean God they are getting scary up front.Just need more out of Elvis although I liked the aggression this week I remember that jailbreak blitz were three of our guys came through and nailed Rivers…That kind of scary..Drice97, you really think we could get some towels too??? Neckbone i mean neckbeard to the practice squad..And what is up with the refs in Denver I counted at least four fouls that didn’t get called like the chuck on the fair catch right in front of the ref. I mean if you call fair catch and get hit isn’t that a penalty. and the block in the back on the punt .Right in front of the refs again, any of these should have given the one 1st down we would have needed…But we got ticky tacky bail out the Dolts because they just can’t win without the refs. calls….you know what I’m saying is true..food for thought our last 1-4 start was 97 wasn’t it ? and didn’t We become the first team to win the VLTrophy that year??? There is hope and his name is Timmahhh!!!
Sndvl I think everyone is excited because we expect the losses to stop piling up. And in a season where we are virtually eliminated from the playoffs we get to us be exciting again for the first time since Cutler was traded. I think it’ll be great for Tim to have his fate in his own hands. He can take us out of the equation for the Luck sweepstakes. I predicted us to go 8-8 when really I only saw six winnable games ( I can’t predict us to be under .500 or to lose games which is why I don’t enter the scoring prediction contests). But now I feel like 8-8 is a possibility. I see the Jets and the Bears on our schedule now and say “Hey those are winnable!” Just about every game on the schedule looks like we can have a chance. The scariest ones are probably against the Lions and the Patriots to me. But we should be prepared for some ugly first quarters from Tebow and a couple 4th quarter comebacks!
Oh and Bay DJW did head but and that was stupid however , DJ did not through the first blow that SD tight end slapped him in the head….where was the refs flag then???
In 97 we started 6-0!
98, 13-0.
99 we started 1-4 but finished 6-10, no idea what year you are taking about.
first to win VLtroph. from the Wild card.
97 we started 6-0 before losing to the Raiders.
Oh didn’t see your 6-0 post Bay. My bad!
We did win from the Wild Card in 97 don’t know if that was the first. But we did break a long streak of the NFC winning the title every year. AFC dominated for a long time after that.
Anyhow for me there is no hope for this year already 3 games behind the Raiders plus the tie breaker, specially a SB, haha, however things could be looking up for next year if Tebow truly earns his starting spot for the rest of the year.
Finished 12-4 in 97.
KC won the division with 13-3 that year.
It was something my other bronco buddy text me with the stat after the game so we started 6-0 the year the broncos won out from the wild card?
Nailed it Bay. Tim gives us a reason to watch and be excited in a year that we don’t stand much of a chance to make the playoffs. Unless we pull a Chargers haha
Yes, Crush. You can look it up om the history section on this site.
I just noticed that we play Brandon Marshall!!
We may have lost the game but I believe the coaches may actually see now what the TT fans have been saying! Die hard Bronco Fan but as other Tebow fans have mentioned if they trade him then my loyalty to the team will be in question??? I started being a fan back in the eighty’s when Elway joined the team as I watched him in college! Tebow has the same potential so I hope the coaches wake up and continue with him and get the other positions we are needing taken care of as well!
It real pains me to read all these posts as a Broncos fan right now. I am a huge Tebow supporter and think he energized the entire team yesterday giving them a chance to win. That being said he was also installed in the second half of a game where the opposing team had not gameplanned for him to be the quarterback. Again I am a huge Tebow fan but we cannot proclaim him the next Elway, we cannot cherish the moment. What we can do is install him as the starter give him the practic reps, support, and gameplan that suits him, and see how he does when a team does gameplan for him. I personally think he can be the future of this team, but I also accept that we need to see how he does for more than just a half.
With Tebow in it was a different team yesterday, everyone was energized and most importantly having fun! Tebow was uncertain at times and jumpy ehich hopefully is due to the lack of practice reps, but he did show poise and at the end of the day he put the Broncos in a position to win.
All I ask Denver is please be reasonable, we did NOT win the Super Bowl, although many of you are acting like it. Lets enjoy what will hopefully be a great remainder to the season and reveal if we do have a franchise QB in Tebow.
GO BRONCOS!!!
What if Tebow is worse than Orton (I dont think it will happen) but what if then is it just because Tebow is young and inexperienced and will I be ridiculed for calling for Brady Quinn to be given an opportunity to prove himself?
And lets not get out of hand for the record Tebow will never be the passer Elway was. Be reasonable Tebow may be able to duplicate his success but there is absolutely no comparison as far as skill set apart from running and scrambling ability.
getting royal, d. thomas and j. thomas back after the bye week will help out the offense big time. Timmay needs all the weapons he can get to lead us back to winning team. Just sucks we have to wait 2 weeks to see them play again.
BroncosLAX — can’t let us enjoy an exciting moment from an exciting game without a hyperbolic description and attempt to rob us of our joy? Of course we didn’t win a SB, but we feel like we got a glimpse of the excitement that may be our future. You seem to be parroting the ESPN pundits who point out that Tebow wasn’t game-planned against, but they and you forget that the flipside of that is Tebow hadn’t had the practice snaps with the 1st team either. They will game plan for Tebow in the future, but he’ll also get the majority reps with the 1st team which he hasn’t had yet this season. Like anything else inthe NFL, it’ll come down to coaching and execution. Most importnat to me: I actually had fun watching the 2nd half of yesterday for the first time since last year.
…all of my last comments of course predicated on the presumption that Tebow will be named the starter some time this week.
LAX Tim did not take reps with the ones and hasn’t since the first week of training camp so the whole they did not game plan for him is kind of mute . He got thrown in the game cold and fired The team the coaches and the fans up .And i think we are all pumped because we actually have hope and Tim gets the chance to prove himself finally !Orton was awful and emotionless on top of it he did do what he said and let his play and leadership speak for its self IE having Decker take the heat for his INT and not helping TIM like a LEADER SHOULD .Moreover we got to show KO that the fans do have some say so .
It isn’t a mute argument NFL Players are supposed to be prepared regardless of “Reps” I am a hug Tebow fan but I can also be reasonable but I promise you I will live and die with every play just like any other true Broncos Fan and I sincerely hope Tebow leads Denver back to glory. But I can also accept that that may not happen. This is all I’m saying
All that is taken from my comment is the argument that Tebow was not gameplanned for. I presented both sides, I did not ignore that with Tebow Denver was completely energized but I am just pointing out there is no reason to get outof hand yet. Give me Dolphins game to start flipping out about how excited I am until then I will temper is and be excited with a small amount of skeptacism.
