Fox on Closing Camp

At the close of this weekend’s rookie minicamp, Head Coach John Fox met the media one final time to wrap up the event.

Below are some quick hits from his press session.

On how the rookie minicamp went:
“Very good. We have a good young bunch. I think they’ll definitely contribute and help the Denver Broncos be a better football team. They went about their business well and we had good focus and very good effort during the camp.”

On how CB Omar Bolden looked:
“I think he had a good camp. I thought he played well and he reacted to our install very well. He has good football awareness and football intelligence. It’s just a matter of learning to compete at this level at a consistent basis and I believe he can do that.”

On whether Bolden will return kicks:
“We’ll get those opportunities. We didn’t do much of that in this camp, but moving forward, we have time to help every one of these guys develop.”

On the addition of CB Drayton Florence:
“He’s another piece that will hopefully make us better. I don’t think you can ever have too many corners with a lot of the multiple receiver sets that you get—and we will get with the types of quarterbacks that we have on our schedule this year. That was problematic for us a year ago and hopefully with some good competition we can fix that.”

In addition, Fox will participate in an F-16 ride along with the U.S. Air Force Thunderbirds on May 21.

Fox will take part in a three-hour training and briefing at Peterson Air Force base in Colorado Springs, Colo., before his opportunity to experience flight from a fighter pilot’s perspective during a one-hour ride along.

“I saw some video of that — I didn’t realize exactly it was that intense when I first signed up,” he laughed. “But I’m looking forward to it. I have great respect for our military and it’s a great opportunity to hang out with some of those guys.”

The Thunderbirds’ — the Air Force’s official demonstration team — purpose is to showcase the integrity, selfless service and excellence embodied by American Airmen. Each year, the Thunderbirds team performs the flyover for the Air Force Academy graduation ceremony, which brings the unit to Colorado.

    Super cool. It’ll be the ride of your life taking those G’s. And remember those pilots can pull about twice what you will experience in combat training and actual combat maneuvers. Enjoy it to the max, Coach Fox!

    My soon-to-be #2 son-in-law had the privilege of riding in an F-16. He got the red carpet treatment all set up by the Make-A-Wish foundation including a 30′ banner welcoming him to the base. He had major cancer with surgery and chemo as a teen. I think I’d rather not – thank you very much!

    Gentlemen – treat the mothers special!!!

    Mommy at our house received 13 notes or poems with handmade artwork. Breakfast in bed was cinnamon rolls with scrambled eggs. The girls are taking care of putting together a salad lunch. Mommy got a complete new outfit – skirt and blouse w/ corsage – from Daddy. We are heading to the lake to swim after lunch. Lord knows I love that woman!!! Can’t ever give back what she means to me – but we try to express it.

    I had a big day planned but she had to go in to work. A different nurse was “sick” today so she had to go in. Been working most of the day on dinner for her. Also watching the BBall games. I did make her breakfast in bed already.

    the answer is 13 because according to the order of operations you multiply before addition therefore the”x 0″ is out of the equation long before you start adding and subtracting the ones

    LBF First 0 is wrong. Second im not a Kobe fan just a Lakers fan.

    Order of operations you have to do multiplication before addition. So the first thing you do is 1×0=0. Then you have 1+1+1+1+1+1+1+1+1+1=10 then 10-1+1+1+1+1+0=13.

    So 13 is the correct answer.

    Multiply first then add/subtract. So 2+3×4 is 14 not 20.

    LBF lol. Kobe is actually one of my least fav players but I wont deny he has skill and its the best in the NBA right now.

    Also I got that off a funny picture site and the comments made me laugh. So many people were getting mad about it so I thought itd bring a little life to the blog for a bit LOL.

    This went around facebook a couple of years ago and while it is technically correct. The actual problem is written incorrectly. The incorrect manner in which it is written makes the equation scientifically useless kind of like Newtonian Calculus. It is sort of random and good only for a joke. When this went around it was attached to a further miscalculation where the author attempts to disprove the existence of God and he uses multiple fabrications and what is called in ‘logic’ – a category fallacy.

    1+1+1+1+1+1+1+1+1+1-1+1+1+1+1+1+1×0
    I’m starting to wonder if Idiocracy is actually coming true. In facebook, there was a question posted:

    1+1+1+1+1+1+1+1+1+1-1+1+1+1+1+1+1×0 = ?

    As of this writing, 2,285,885 people have answered. The breakdown:
    1,129,160 say the answer is 0
    858,938 say the answer is 14
    249,918 say the answer is 16
    47,869 say the answer is 17

    Now, I can understand the people who said 16 because they probably missed the subtraction symbol when counting-up the ones. The answer that gets me is the zero, and the reason it bothers me so much is that people who have long since gotten through grade school mathematics have insisted that their answer is correct, “because anything times zero is zero.” That’s true except that evaluating this requires that you adhere to order-of-operations, which makes an expression like this non-ambiguous. If anyone had any question whatsoever about this, then the first thing they could do is put the whole expression into a short computer program and see what the answer is. My guess is that those who insist it is zero pumped it into a $3 calculator and forgot that calculators don’t follow order-of-operations, and most simply subtotal as each operator is pressed. It is amazing that the overwhelming majority of the people got this wrong.

    DB very nice (I actually originally saw this on Facebook earlier today then again on a funny picture site). Your explanation was very precise and spot on. You have to have a calculator where you can put in the whole equation.

    It all comes down to OOOPs You have to multiply first. It astounded me how many people said that you dont do OOOPs because there are no parenthesis which is in fact incorrect. OOOPS is a must in any mathematical equation. So you multiply first then add and subtract left to right.

    This equation is now being taught in schools across the country because of how many kids/teens are getting it wrong.

    Ty Warren was asked to reduce his salary. He is not very happy about that. He may end up being released. He was asked to reduce it from 4 mil to around 1-1.5 mil. Kevin Vickerson has agreed to reduce his contract.

    No worries, just Curious about who takes on the blockers so our Linebackers can do what they are paid to do… All the offense in the world means beans when a team can take the ball straight down your throat 9 minutes at a time… How you gonna force a team to pass if we can’t stop the run? 7 point lead, 14 point lead means 0 to a team thats ripping of 4+ yards a carry…

    I feel this is a serious concern for 2012…

    WE STILL NEED SOME BEEF!!!!

    If Warren is cut because he wont reduce his pay (Even if he isnt cut) I think Denver may try to bring in Franklin after June 1st when he becomes a street FA and wont go into the compensatory pick stuff.
