Final Pro Bowl Push

December 17th, 2012 - 4:35pm by Gray Caldwell

If you haven’t voted for the 2013 Pro Bowl squads, now is the time.

Fan voting officially closes at the conclusion of tonight’s Monday Night Football matchup pitting the New York Jets against the Tennessee Titans.

So whether or not you watch the game, make sure you get your Pro Bowl votes in.

At last check, seven Broncos were being voted starters for the AFC squad. Eight other Broncos were in contention for a Pro Bowl spot.

Among them are Peyton Manning, who leads all vote-getters, Champ Bailey, Von Miller, Zane Beadles, Ryan Clady, Elvis Dumervil, Wesley Woodyard, David Bruton, Trindon Holliday, Dan Koppen, Britton Colquitt, Demaryius Thomas, Chris Gronkowski, Rahim Moore and Matt Prater. At various times throughout voting, Eric Decker and Mike Adams have also been among the top five vote-getters at their respective positions.

Tonight marks a final chance to push Broncos into the game via fan voting.

Last year, Denver sent six players to Hawaii.

The final Pro Bowl squads — taking into account fan, player and coach voting — will be announced on Wednesday, Dec. 26 on NFL Network’s “Total Access.”

    I LOVE THIS TEAM!!

Ok, I don’t now if I’ll address everything meant for me today but I will try.

I understand what everyone is saying about not giving up and nailing teams to their coffin and all, I guess I just prefer to run the time off because that’s what we’ve always done and that’s what I feel is respectful. I know I’m in the minority and I’m sure that y’all would rather we run up the score, but I’d rather run the ball! LOL And I don’t think we need to have trick plays at all unless it involves Mitch. LOL

AZBronco and DB… How does this work now? I have picked 35-17 all year and now we won 34-17… Freaky. (Congrats again AB) So, now how do I do this? D I go back and pick 35-17 or do I keep 42-21 or do I make a brand new prediction?!?

    1. Which Raven kicked the ball? I don’t remember his name but he deserved a penalty. 2. And quite honestly I have never seen a QB flip out like Brady did after the 9ers called a time out. He deserved 15 yards for that, but because he’s who he is they won’t do it. I don’t like this guy. Period.

Now for the weird part of my post today…

In 2006 my mom and dad got my Brad Paisley tickets for my birthday. The concert was on January 14th, during our playoff game with the Patriots. I was seriously devastated and crying at some point but the tickets were bought so I had to go. The game ended during the concert and Brad announced that we’d won, but it was terrible not getting to watch it. It’s was before weekly replays of games so my dad recorded the game for me and I stayed up watching the whole thing. I still have it on DVD somewhere. However, I am going on and on when in reality I just need to tell you that if we play the Patriots in the playoffs I think I need to miss the game completely to win. Does that sound crazy? I think it’s more like that commercial at says “it’s only crazy if it doesn’t work.” I didn’t really believe it until this week when my prediction was so close. Will you all hate me if I go to a movie instead of watching the game?

You have to watch it Cat. Have to!

  4. oldsouthstander says:

Broncos Offense #2 in scoring, Broncos defense #5 in points allowed.
Hard to not rate them #1 in power ranking.

  5. OTbroncos says:

This makes drafting Robert Ayers and Knowshon Moreno the best moves ever:

“The Jets began talks Friday night, then pulled off a blockbuster five-for-one deal with Mangini’s Cleveland Browns on Saturday to land their latest quarterback of the future with the fifth overall pick. At his agent’s offices in Irvine, Calif., Sanchez broke into a smile, pumped his fist and pulled on a Jets cap.

In exchange for the fifth pick, the Jets gave up the 17th pick, their second-round selection and three players: defensive end Kenyon Coleman, safety Abram Elam and quarterback Brett Ratliff.” (2009)

NFLN had a preview to their power rankings.

Niners Falcons Patriots Texans Broncos were the top 5 teams this week in order

Last weeks top 8 Patriots Broncos Falcons Packers Texans Ravens Giants Niners.

So can someone please tell me how we moved back 2 spots with a WIN over the team ranked 6th when NE lost to the team ranked 8th and stayed top 3? Or how the Texans were able to jump over us and the Packers?

IMO it should be Broncos (Ranked 2 last week won move up since #1 lost) Niners (Beat the #1 team) Falcons Packers Texans Patriots to round out the top 6.

  7. OTbroncos says:

Anyone watching the game on Comedy Central *cough, cough* I mean ESPN? LOL!

  8. RH709 says:

AB, thats why I dont read those ones or ESPN’s. They are subjective and the people in charge of them are people like John Clayton who knows nothing about the game of football. LAME!!!

  9. CARAMELLOO says:

Am I the only one who noticed Decker doing a dance after his long TD catch?!?! I think he was mocking Jacoby Jones bc I know he does some dance after he scores. I want to see a video after Decker scored that might show the whole thing.

I loved the game on Sunday!! The game changer was the pick six IMO. But while our Broncos were on the road in a must win for a second round seed consideration with a bye and a game in our house! Someone else was in Denver picking their seats for the playoffs!!!

this team is special…spectacular!! defense is playing lights out.. the only threat i see standing between us and a title is the Niners..a clear choice..

games i would like to see:

Niners vs. Seahawks .. i have mad respect for Aldon Smith’s play and i’d like to see Russell Wilson meet this guy in the playoffs.

Broncos vs. Pats… no explanation..two of the greatest at it again…only Manning has a better supporting cast..

  12. DaddyBronc says:

Cat – you made the sacrifice…I think you are free to make your best guess!!!

  13. DaddyBronc says:

A Cincy game at home doesn’t fit any profile anyway.

All I know is that the Broncos should be in the 41 – 55 range …but with conservative Foxxy…we ain’t never gonna get there!!!

  14. DaddyBronc says:

We need Jets to win…it keeps the Titans in front of San Diego for the draft.

  15. since1972 says:

Hey ticat , I had the good fortune to be at that playoff game in 06. To date next to the back to back SB. Wins it was the most thrilling thing I have ever experienced. If you have an opportunity to go to it or watch it at home whatever, Don’t miss it

  16. RH709 says:

    These Jets are pathetic.

  17. sndvl says:

The Good- 1st win against the Ravens. In Baltimore. Ever. Harris with the pick 6, a 14 point swing. No turnovers for the first time this season.

The Bad- Prater with another miss. His 40 range is getting ugly.

The Ugly- That late TD to Pitta. 3 missed tackles. We have got to solve our TE coverage issues.

The Funny- Moreno hurdling Reed. (More so an amazing feat, but still. I had to laugh).

    Broncos Country Strong 2012!!!!!!!!!!!

  18. AZBroncolover says:

Cat, just make your score pick, and add the scores for a total (35-17=52)… I think total score is how Turtle is running it… Then change your score to equal the same total (30-22=52)… This is goofy, but like they say “it’s only goofy if it doesn’t work”… I never did anything this strange before, but what the heck…

I never bet on the Broncs… Every time I have, they have lost… You will notice I never enter a score in Turtle’s contest… And Turtle, if I do, please erase it…

  19. IWILLX2 says:

I was at the Broncos vs Ravens game yesterday and it was amazing, incredible, outstanding. I truly loved every moment of that game ( besides when the Ravens scored twice especially when we missed so many tackles ). We really handled our business and looked really solid. Our d was stout, we shut Flacco and Rice down. If we continue to play the way we did Sunday, I don’t see anyone beating us, especially in Denver. I LOVE MY BRONCOS !!!!!! GOOOO BRONCOS !!!!!!!! IWILLX2

  20. IWILLX2 says:

at the end of the game Woodyard and a couple of other players threw cleats, wristbands, and gloves into the stands to us fans by the tunnel as they were exiting the field. It was very classy. Woodyard threw both of his cleats to us fans. My Broncos are the best ! I love my BRONCOS !!!!! IWILLX2

  21. DaddyBronc says:

A fitting demise for a very bad Jets team…I’m so sorry Tim Tebow!!!

  22. DaddyBronc says:

I lost another friend / acquaintance today as a result of a motorcycle accident.

Maybe you folks recall Frank Pastore former pitcher for the Cin. Reds.

Frank spent the last 9+ years as talk show host for KKLA. He was a great Christian apologist, thinker, and personal mentor to me – though he didn’t know it. I only met Frank twice, but he was always gracious and humble. I respected him as a true renaissance man!

Frank has been in a coma since his accident on Dec. 2nd – I think. He was face to face with his maker some time this afternoon. Praying folks ought to remember Frank’s wife, Gina, his son and daughter. I believe the world to be a lesser place without Frank.

    I hate street bikes!!!

the jets are terrible. sanchez 50% 140yds 1 td 4 int. good thing they didnt start tebow. he may have cost them the game.

    smh

  24. alexanserg says:

to the motorcycle thing- motorcycles are fun and you cant live in fear. not gonna look it up but i wonder. what kills more people per year?
    perscription pills. mcdonalds. or motorcycles?

  25. DaddyBronc says:

Every ER doctor I have asked said that their experience would lead them to conclude that the only thing more dangerous than a street bike is a drug overdose. Funny…I’ve asked several ER Dr.s who had never seen a gunshot victim.

  26. DaddyBronc says:

I quit riding when my wife was pregnant with number four – after a close call. It’s not living in fear…it’s just living for something more important!

  27. alexanserg says:

well you rode for a while. there is also an element of quiting while you are ahead.

i have done quit a bit of free-climbing in my life. i quit when was ahead. wont find me cimbing cliffs without a rope anymore.

ALEX: Prescrip[tions drugs at the appropriate dosage are the #5 killer. What’s really scary is the “at appropriate dosage” part of the statictics. If a food supplement had the side effects of any drug on the market it would never be allowed to be sold.

P.S. I have abn associate dergee in nutrition, so I speak with sad knowledge of the state of our health in theUSA.

  31. alexanserg says:

exactly. i wasnt talking about improper use. just the people that used them exactly as perscribed.

  32. strandoftds82 says:

Cat, you gotta watch the game. If you don’t, you’d regret it! You can’t miss what you love if its placed right before your very eyes.

  33. strandoftds82 says:

Ticat06, I bet your excited about going to see your Broncos play the Browns this weekend? So much fun!!

  34. Royalbroncofan1 says:

Couldn’t agree more DB, bikes are very dangerous. I used to own a ’81 Suzuki GS1100 converted to a cafe racer back in my mid-late twenties. It was alot fun at first, but driving defensive began to take more energy than enjoying riding the bike. Forget getting in somone’s blind spot, had to dump it a couple of times due to that happening. The wife made me get rid of it after we were married. I’ve known a few peopled who’ve lost their lives riding..

GUYS AND GALS, THE ESPN POWER RANKINGS HAVE US AT NUMBER 1, SO THE HECK WITH NFL CHANNEL, NUMBER TWO IS OK TOO I GUESS THEY BOTH COME WITH A FIRST ROUND BUY DON’T THEY? BUT I PREFER NUMBER ONE CAUSE I DON’T CARE WHAT ANYBODY SAYS THIS IS THE LONGEST WINNING STREAK OF THE YEAR FOR THE WHOLE NFL…IN MY BOOK WE ARE THE BEST IN FOOTBALL RIGHT NOW, AND THE ARGUMENT ABOUT STRENGTH OF SCHEDULE IS MOOT BECAUSE AT THE BEGINNING OF THE YEAR EVERYBODY SAID ONLY THE GIANTS HAD A TOUGHER ONE! SO MUCH FOR THE “EXPERTS” GO BRONCOS!
