Fan Results Are In…

December 11th, 2008 - 1:10pm by Adam Zinser

Fan voting has concluded for the Pro Bowl, and citizens of Broncos Country have made their voices heard.

Brandon Marshall ranks No. 1 in vote getters for AFC wide receivers, and Champ Bailey also ranks No. 1 in the AFC at cornerback.

Marshall received 416,791 votes, good for the third-highest leading total in the AFC, while Bailey got 283,155.

The results announced today are just the top overall vote getters in the AFC and NFC as well as the top vote getters for each position. In other words, we don’t know where other Broncos rank in the big scheme of things — this doesn’t mean that Bailey and Marshall are the only two Broncos with a shot at making the trip to Hawaii.

Also, players and coaches have yet to cast their votes for the Pro Bowl, which will be played on February 8, 2009.

The full AFC and NFC Pro Bowl teams will be announced next Tuesday, December 16.

    SWEEEEEEET!!!!

Now lets hope everyone got wise and voted Cutler in. He is practically a shoe-in or he should be. Clady deserves to go just as much as Cutler – he’s a huge reason to Cutler’s success this season. I could go on and on about who on this team should go and we all know who should go.

But so far, so good. Really glad Marshall got the recognition he deserves… just hope he doesn’t get cocky over this – my only worry.

    GO BRONCOS!!!!!!!!!

  3. Professor Broncs says:

Jay Cutler has to get in. Also Clady deserves a spot. With out these two our season-saving passing game and total offense would be non-existent. I know the players and coaches will have to give Cutler his love but I’m really concerned with Clady. He deserves a pro-bowl trip more than any rookie on any team we have seen this year, but even if he doesnt get in its inevetable that we will receive the honor within the next two years after his rep grows.

    SWEET!

  5. BroncosFan973 says:

Cutler, Harris, and Clady all deserve to take a trip to Hawaii. The two tackles make two of the three O-lineman who start and have given up

  6. lynch4prez says:

minimum 2 of our guys on the O-line should be going.. minimum

  7. broncofannsd says:

Congrats to B. Marsh and Champ. I agree with all of you that Cutler definitely deserves a trip. Clady and Harris deserve to go as well. As lynch4prez said, a minimum of 2 guys on the O-line should go.

    GO BRONCOS!!!!

  8. J-Cut ROCKS says:

im glad b marsh and champ made it but cutler should be there with a couple o linemen and of course Eddie Royal who has been outstanding this year. he leads the league in receptions for rookies and has 800 yards. considering he is our #2 reciever, i think that’s pretty darn good

  9. bornadiehardfan says:

my votes went to Champ,Brandon,Eddie and of course Jay he leads all AFC QB’S and will get his first Pro Bowl spot this year if not a starter a back up the heck with Phillip Rivers RIGHT

  10. cbracken2 says:

Hey!! Congrats guys, you deserve it. Who was voted the top QB in the AFC? Ill bet it was Farve. Jay should have gotten that top spot. I really hope that Clady gets in there. Harris too, but Clady has a better chance as a rookie left tackle defending Jays backside. But well deserved for Marshall and Champ.

  11. Hesky says:

Cutler, Marshall, and the entire O-Line deserve the trip. That’s fact.

  12. rev79 says:

Champ got in… and hasn’t played over half the season… Wow…

  13. Guron says:

Josh Barrett is going to be the broncos future hall of famer…. Barrett played good against kansas city…. I want to see him put a big hit on the panthers rb’s….

  14. 22hillis says:

    VOTE FOR ROYAL!!!!

  15. rev79-

Champ, nor anyone else has made it yet. This is just the fan vote which counts as a portion, but the players and coaches have yet to vote. We will find out who makes it on Tuesday.

  16. steventhethorn says:

I will be absolutely stunned and disgusted if Cutler doesn’t get in…

    …but he probably will. :D

  17. PhotoHoundAK says:

    good start, hopefully continues!

    eh heh
Champ this makes 9 ina row my man
    hah wow
he sure is something only playing 7 games this season guess Namdi or w/e his name is got overlooked becus of his porus team play o well Champ is the best CB in the NFL and maybe of all time so it is of no surprise fans voted him :D
Cutler and the C.R so certainly deserve it and hell ill bet if they 3 go Cutler still wont be sacked even goin against such guys as Troy pollamolu, James Harrison and John Abraham (who loooooooooooves to do wat he does) and of course Demarcus Ware
    hahah
    i laugh
    :p

  19. Adam Zinser says:

    cbracken2 -

Your guess that Favre got the top spot would be correct. He leads all AFC players with 880,833 total fan votes. Cutler ranks third among AFC quarterbacks with 536,162 votes.

And as Kyle Sonneman pointed out, no one is in yet. We still have to wait for players and coaches to vote.

  20. broncos20 says:

Wow,,this is great news…waiting to hear about the final results..
Hey Adam or Kyle, do you know where Eddie stands in all the polls?Better yet, where can we look up the polls?I couldnt find it on the NFL site..

Of course its always Bailey, he’s The Best.. I like Namdi Asomuhga..He’s a really good player on a really bad team…He deserves recognition. (esp. how he shut down Smith during their last game)..anyways,,good luck for the rest of the polls guys…Cutler,Marshall, Royal, Clady, Harris, Bailey all deserve the highest recognition.

My oh my what a wonderful

Cutler, Hillis (even though he’s injured), Marshall, Royal, Clady, Harris, Bailey and Spencer Larsen. those are the guys that should go in. 5 of my 7 on my list are no brainers but let me say this Hillis did amazing for starting in like 2 games, became the 2nd leading rusher for the broncos after like 3 weeks and has good talent. Larsen has put more than his two cents in every game. playing both ways and ST is hard to do, trust me i do that in HS football.

  22. Lepsis-Fan78 says:

Alright Eddie deserves to be with the big names for rookie of the year and i love watchin hima nd B Marsh tear Defenses appart but he doesnt have the numbers for pro bowl i mean in our bronco country Elvis Hillis DJ Jamie and many more deserve it but the numbers will get u there now what i dont understand is Jay culter was the most untouched QB this year y is his whole line not there?

  23. ScourmKidBailey24 says:

haha ty ty broncos20 for replying with such a mainstream answer
(everyone says beast) Champ deserves to be called another name i mean beast is so overly used. Any yea this is what i think should be the starters in the Pro Bowl at CB. Im not sure if 4 cbs can go to the Bowl i think its only 2 but anyhow here they are. Strong CB Champ Bailey (though he only played nine games) Weak CB Cortland Finnegan has played great this year but i cant help but say guys like Will Allen and Nambdi dont also deserve it (prolly Nambdi over C\Cortland also)
as for Larsen making it i highly doubt hed go i mean were would the guy start FB no i think that Ravens Fb will go. And the only o line Guys that need to Go are though i hate to say it seeing thay he is a fomer chief
CAsey weighaman or w/e his name is he been amazing at center and has kept those mlbs at bay when they come and blitz. Ryan and Ryan so more than any player or rookie in history deserve to make it i mean damn look at their totals (.5 a sack each) wat does that even mean they let the guy Poke cutler hahah thats not even a sack. maybe they sneezed on him and it affected his throw. If Royal can pick up a couple more tds in this game against Carolina then he so deserves to go. Cutler R & R Marshall and Bailey is alot better than the broncos have been doing seeing that Champ was the only Bronco to make it last year and the previous year was Lynch (who i think went that year due to an injury not sure…) anywho as i stated before then it was Lynch and Champ that previous year
the only time i can remeber seeing at least 3 or more Broncos in the Bowl was i think 2005 when Rod Smith, AL wilson, Champ, and John made it whats even more unbelievable is that DJ hasnt made it yet and he had 140 tackles lst year. HE WILL MAKE IT SOON THOUGH along with at least one more time befoe his career is over Dre Bly and DOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOMERVILE! :D
