Denver Broncos partner Kwal Paint sent one lucky Broncos fan and a guest to the NFL Draft in New York City to announce the team’s second fourth-round pick — Baylor center Philip Blake — on Saturday, April 28. Tim & Jamie Felten of Craig, Colo., spent the weekend in the Big Apple and participated in various NFL Draft-related events including the opportunity to meet NFL Commissioner Roger Goodell at a private breakfast with 80 other fans from across the country.
“This entire trip has been nothing short of amazing,” Jamie Felten said. “To be front and center during draft picks, meeting NFL fans (was) truly amazing! I would love to see more Broncos fans in New York for the draft in future years.”
Tim & Jamie’s photo was selected as the grand prize winner from a thousand different photo entries in the Kwal Paint “Paint the Town Orange” Facebook promotion that ran in March on the Denver Broncos Facebook page. This was the first time the NFL has allowed sponsorship rights to be sold at a local level for the NFL Draft. Fans were encouraged to submit their best “orange-themed” photo celebrating the return of orange jerseys as the primary color for the Broncos in 2012.
After the initial entries were received, fans were then encouraged to vote for their top choice on the Kwal Paint Facebook page and the photo with the most “likes” won the trip to the draft. Tim and Jamie received 274 total likes out of a total of 1,077 votes. The Kwal Paint Facebook page grew in total fan likes by more than 2000 percent.
Kwal Paint was founded in 1947 in Denver, Colorado with a vision of producing the finest paint and coatings in the industry. Today, Kwal Paint has two manufacturing plants, five major distribution centers, and service centers in Colorado, Idaho, New Mexico, Texas, Utah and Wyoming. The newest production facility in Bonham, Texas utilizes the most modern equipment and technology, producing over 14 million gallons of paint every year.
