Every Tuesday at 2 p.m. MDT, DenverBroncos.com airs ‘Elway Live,’ a live half-hour audio show. Host Chris Hall of Broncos TV sat down with Executive Vice President of Football Operations John Elway Tuesday afternoon for the third episode of the online-streamed audio broadcast that features fan-submitted questions for Elway.
During the show, Elway talked about just how good Aaron Rodgers was against the Broncos Sunday.
“I’m not sure a quarterback can have a better day than Aaron had on Sunday,” Elway said. “He’s a guy with great athletic ability, tremendous accuracy when he throws the football, and I think those who watched the football game saw that every ball he threw hit them right on the numbers.”
But Elway recognized that the Broncos defense needs to improve. He understands the unit has had such a short time to learn the new scheme and play together and acknowledges a few areas in which improvement should be expected.
“Defensively we just got to continue to work on our techniques, really get it down, and play the defenses the way they were supposed to be played,” Elway said. “But guys are really starting to get a feel for this defense, and the more we play, the more we practice, the better feel the defensive guys are going to get for this defense.”
Elway talked Tim Tebow, Von Miller’s surging start, Champ Bailey, the defense’s success at stopping the run and plenty more.

Thats was a good show John. Way to skirt the biggest and most popular questions all the fans are really asking about our future at the quarterback position. Even with threats of boycotting watching bronco game’s until Orton is pulled and sending back “authentic” Elway jerseys you still leave us to assume you “believe” in Orton! With no word on what is happening with Tim. What are we developing him to be the future or just don’t believe in him?
Well one thing is for sure Miller is one BAMF! And John Fox is one DAMF for keeping in Orton Trade him for a 5th hell a 6 Just get something for this guy!
Haha… I started writing my blog before I saw your “bronco life.” How similar all of us fans are really thinking and wanting answered!
Trade Orton to Miami while they need a qb asap and get a good pick!
Also one last thing. Maybe Elway live could be set up to where a live blog would stream under the live session to show some “transparency” of what questions really being asked and what questions are really getting answered?

Orton has done a disservice to the Broncos organization by his play on the field. He has also killed it off the field. When he “blocked” the trade to Miami with his greed in wanting a contract extesion and money, he put us in a bind in that no one will want Orton at this stage. We are stuck with him until the end of the season, when he’ll be an FA and open negotiations will be on the table not contract extensions, etc.
Just FYI……. If you guys want to see what questions got asked just type in #elwaylive in the twitter search. Then you will see all the questions people are really asking.
That’s business, I dont blame him for wanting more money. Same bottom line, money. One reason Tebow hasn’t been given a chance up to date.
Your quarterback questions have been answered many times. Maybe you “fans” should move on to a new topic and let the men who know football do their jobs without your constant ridicule. Elway will get us there, no doubt in my mind the Broncos will be great again under his leadership. Go Broncos!
No Elway keep Orton in so we loose the rest of our season and can get Andrew Luck. Nothing against Tebow at all but he aint no Andrew luck and never will be. I say trade Tebow so I can at least watch the guy play keep orton get luck. And for god sake fire the OC and DC and get some guys with a pair. And studsville is more like Dudsville we need a good strong big HB trade moreno and get a few 2nd third round picks. beef up the D line and for god sake make sure dawkins retires.
After that we could be sitting pretty, but if Orton is here next year starting for us I wont be watching the Broncos at all.
The only ones doing disservice to the Broncos are the fans. Its one thing to wear bags over your heads, but calling out for players heads? Orton is a stop gap to our problems. And he doing a damn good job from letting the flood waters rise higher. Ive never seen so much negativity and sarcasm from a fanbase. Maybe this franchise does need a 0-16 season then we can stop going to games then we can start calling for peoples jobs. but seriously people, anyone who has a brain and a set of eyes would of seen that changing coaches schemes QBS is just incontinuity. FOX and Elway will turn it around. SO we lost the the Champs. I hope we all saw NOT TEBOW NOT ORTON NOT OUR DEFENSE AND CERTAINLY NO PASS PROTECTION can even measure up to the elite teams. Ignorance needs to stop. favoritism needs to stop.
seriously imready? If you just come on here to question everyones devotion to the broncos based upon our dissatisfaction with our QB1 play, then just dont say anything at all. The implication that we are not fans because we want tebow to get a shot in denver is beyond ridiculous! You probably would have been the guy that didnt think elway should get a shot early in his career too.. sheesh!!

You guys are funny, First of all taking Ortons side everything you see from orton is his best he will never get better and has been around for 7 seasons and has been a loosing QB meaning lost more games then won. Sorry If most Fans want to see someone else take snaps but we have seen enough of Ortons boring 10 yard passes to last a li8fe time.
Yeh he threw a 44 yard pass last week that Lloyd had to turn around and move up a half yard to catch and fall to the ground to make it. You saw what rodgers did to us the NFL is all about passing now more then anything and not 10 yard passes here and there but deep 30 yard passes that score with one strike. I am not calling for Tebow I am calling for better plays that go long and stop the nickle and dime clock wasting offence.

imready ……no my ? has not been answered once muchless many times .All we keep getting are beat around the bush answers that equal nothing just like our future with kyle at qb.he just hade a baby not to be mean or anything but he is probably not getting alot of rest!not that all the rest in the world would make him any better..

I love how so many of you ‘fans’ are all about blowing everything up. We are coming off of a season in which we were so bad we had the #2 pick. Had no offseason with a new coaching staff, “And we got beat by the super bowl champs in week 4″ yeah….. fire everyone!!!!
There is no magic bean that suddenly will make us better than the packers.
And with the QB’s, I love Tebow as much as anybody, but if he is not ready it would be stupid to play him. Look how much Aaron Rodgers has improved since his first two years in the league(when he didn’t play). None of us are at practice, so we are nowhere near qualified to tell the coaches who to play.
If you are stupid enough to threaten to rebel watching games, then just find a new team or stop watching football altogether. The true fans will always be here.

I’m tired of my team kicking me in the yarbles every weekend, i dont want to be numb, but I am. Tebow! please, at least let him grow and figure things out, if he has nothing, well, then you know. There is no fire, no inspiration everyone looks flat. Tebow only won one game but you saw something in the team you don’t see this year. Elway, Fox, Please, DO SOMETHING!!!!!
Heres what I think Denver is going to do Or was trying to do say the least, They were hoping orton would put on a great show and would get some interest from teams in need, however with his poor play I am sure Denver could not get a bucket of chicken and some nachos for him. So Denver will ride out until week 7 or 8 if denver is at 1-6 or 1-7 I think they put Tebow in and see what he has in case they do not have a shot at luck.
This way Orton and quinn are FA’s and Tebow plays so bad they just trade him away or move him to another spot on the roster like FB or TE, And they take a shot at a QB in the draft. Or Tebow gets 8 games under him and we know Tebow shows good signs of being a QB and we trade our high Draft pick for a couple lower ones and finish rebuilding the D and get a good HB.
Or the most probable of the two Denver plays Orton all the way through the season and lets go Orton into FA and Tebow and drafts a QB in the draft and keeps quinn as a back up. Spending our 2 high pics on a QB and a HB not making good moves on the D and we get a 6-10 season next year but least Orton will not be there.
bum, it is like this; we trade tebow and our first round pick for the #1 over all and we get Luck. if we were to play tebow and he is bad no deal, or he gets heart no deal, if he plays great then elway cannot get luck. jmo
Enough with the QB controversy; Leave the coaching to the coach and support him. Dont forget Fox is in his first season and he has a mess to deal with after what McDaniels did so give the guy some slack and let him coach and make the decisions. All those who are sucking for ‘Luck’ should get out of the mile-high city quick and pick you a new team; thats just ridiculous to want your team to lose for the sake of a pick and I am ashamed of any Bronco fan who supports that.
I take pride in being a Denver fan as i think its one of the greatest organizations in the NFL but some of you so called Bronco fans are only making things worse and drawing the wrong kind of attention to our team. Lets show some support for a team that needs it right now instead of all the hoopla getting spread; your only causing more distrations and thats what we dont need right now.
Also as i sign off show Elway some respect and give him a chance. At least as the greatest Bronco ever i know where his heart is with the team and I am glad he is still apart of the team in some way; he will do right for us.
Keep the faith in Bronco country always or leave the country for good.
I believe in john but I along with many others just fear they will trade tebow without giving him a fair chance !that is all they have to do to shut everyone up even if he does bad at least he got a shot!would rather loose the games with a qb full of fire and tries EVERY WAY POSSIBLE TO WIN,than a qb that half asses it and could careless about the fans

One reason I’m gald i dont live near a bunch of other Broncos fans (I live in South Dakota btw), is so that i dont need to hear the pessimistic comments about the Broncos. I am one of few Broncos fans in east river south dakota (there are a lot of bronco fans in west river south dakota) and all i get to hear is myself thinking about the broncos and all the freakin Viking fans complaining about their team. 1-3 is better than 0-4 as far as im aware. I should stop reading these too cuz the pessimism is pissin me off…
