Who did McD draft?

Look at the 2009 draft. Moreno, Ayers, A. Smith, McBath, Quinn, Bruton, Olsen, McKinley, Brandstater, Schlueter. I see two contributors on that list and a bunch of stiffs.

How about 2010? DT, Tebow, Beadles, Walton, Decker, Cox, Olsen, Thompson, Kirlew. So you think Moreno, DT, Decker, Beadles, and Walton are a solid percentage of our offensive talent? I'll give you DT, but Moreno just started playing at an NFL level and both he and Decker are by no means foundation pieces. Same with Beadles and Walton. And the only defensive players McDaniels acquired from the draft that are still on the roster are Bruton and Ayers, and both of them are backups.

Elway's 2011 draft? Miller, Moore, Franklin, Irving, Carter, Thomas, Mohamed, Green, and Beal. Three starters and only Mohamed isn't with the team.

How about 2012? Wolfe, Osweiler, Hillman, Bolden, Blake, Jackson, and Trevethan. All with the team, and many made significant contributions this season.

Sorry eddiechedder, but Fox and Elway succeeded in spite of McDaniels, not because of him.

What's missing in all of that is the fact that when McD came in we had a wonderful offense already and an awful defense. The fact Bowlen went with an O minded HC instead of a D minded one at that point never made any sense and never will whatsoever. So McD purposely tore apart and destroyed the great O we had when he came in and replaced it with an Orton O, and only when he was fired was Tebow made the starter. McD and Xanders were both losers in their respective positions no matter how anyone slices it IMO. Proof; McD went back to O coordinator for one horrible season with the Rams destroying Bradford in the process and is now with the only team that would have him, his old Patriots and his personal savior Brady, and Xanders is not employed in any football fashion anywhere that I can see. But nice heartfelt story anyway eddie.

Without McD's 4 win season we don't have Von or Elway either. Not to forget, once again, PFM.

Xander's and McD did the painful but necessary dirty work to lay the foundation for rebuilding the Denver Broncos. Don't get me wrong, Elway deserves huge amounts of credit for his skills as an executive and what all he has helped us accomplish so far. The truth is in the pudding though it has been overlooked. McDaniels and Xman drafted a solid percentage of our talent on offense. When he did it I was so confused on draft day, almost sickened. I was on this blog before defending his vision for our team and now it is coming true. I used to dream of the day we would have all of his draft picks on the field at the same time. Knowshon, DT, Decker, Tebow, Zane and JD. So much talent from the draft had been put on hold because of whatever reasons but I was always excited. We have never had such a big, fast and strong offense before. Then Elway got Manning here. That never would have been possible had we not gone through Tebowmania and had the one play OT win against the Steelers. The point is don't discount McD or X because they laid on their swords for us. They lost their jobs for it. The problem was they neglected the defense in year two and all of our early draft picks rode the bench. We had Gaffney and Lloyd and Buckhalter. Look at us now! I love what we have become. Top 5 offense and defense. Go Broncos.

If I remember correctly, Brandon Lloyd wanted out when the decision to start Tebow was made.

Bad move on Xmans part, or not... The real mistake is on Spider-Man and his prima Donna ego for making a fuss and demanding the trade in the 1st place.

I for one am glad he was shipped out. Besides, that's not the Manning to Brandon combo I'd like to see in Blue & Orange anyway...

Broncos Country Strong 2012!!!!!!!!!!!
