people we need a defense stop talkin about a runnin back, were not draftin a runnin back before the 4th round if that, it’s all about defense defense defense, and plus McDaniels said he’s buildin this team like the PAT’s so will pass first run 2nd, this year is about defense were goin to a 3-4 most of our players are 4-3, i was readin theres talk about only keepin 10 to 15 players on defense so get off the runnin backs in the first round talk, not goin to happen, we need way to many players on defense, were goin to be draftin defense in the 2010 draft as well switchin to a 3-4 when your a 4-3 is a whole new rebuild, it’s not gonna be a over night thing,

i’d like to get terrell suggs but he wants to stay with the ravens, he’ll get a long term deal and Lewis will get taged, Bart Scott is a FA so is Dawan Landry, Landry would be a nice saftey to pick up, and one of the best places to get a defensvie player is the ravens, Landry is only in his 3rd year

    broncosfanodd6 ,

I know they do not want to part ways with merriman, rivers, jackson or sproles(unrestricted) but they cannot sign all of them unless they release Tomlinson…and even that they can only sign 3 out of 4…
It would be nice to use one of their own players that are disgruntle against them..like merriman or LT

Our draft pick completely depends on whether or not we’re running the 4-3 or the 3-4.
If we run 4-3, listen and listen closely, James Laurinitis WILL be our draft pick. Not only does he have some pretty beastly physical talents, but Ray from USC will be gone. Like someone said earlier, Cincy and KC not to mention Oakland, all go in front of us in the draft. By then Maualouga will be gone.
BRONCOBAILEY99, got it right James will be our LB for the next 10 years and be a perennial pro bowler because he is a very VERY sure tackler, and yall have seen our tackling haven’t you?
If we go 3-4, we will draft a dominant nose tackle or get one in free agency i.e Haynesworth,. Crowder and Marcus Thomas will be our DE’s. Alot of you fail to realize that in a 3-4 the DE’s are just run stoppers they are like 4-3 DTs. Nothing More. Think about it, how many 3-4 DE’s have you seen in the pro bowl or All pro team, none. Jarvis Moss and Doom both go to OLB because neither possesses the strength needed to be a DE in the 3-4. Boss Bailey can interchange at OLB for one or you can have Boss start and have Jarvis or Doom interchange. But those are the OLB’s. DJ will have to go back inside, he is a good tackler, fast, dominate, and the only player on the team that can consistently dominate inside remember when he had over 150 tackles the year before last. Spencer Lawson or Woodyard can start at the other ILB postition and you have the leftover rotate in at either ILB spots.
Peterg, you really know your football, I loved hearing about the inside triangle because I believe whole-heartedly that for the 4-3 to work that triangle has to be the combination of the meanest, toughest, most dominate defensive players on your football team.

    1st Raji
    2nd Rashard Jennings
    3rd Matthew Clay Jr.

    Do it. Do it.

  5. dabroncos27 says:

I like B.J. Raji DT with the 12th pick..remember defense starts up front…dre and champ would be the tandem they should be if we could stop the run, and get to the qb….2nd round safety..and try and get suggs..

  6. broncosfanatic4 says:

Our first pick should be Laurinitis out of Ohio State, Mike Nolan was a LB coach here in denver, and in Baltimore he drafted great LBs and D-linemen but he has always started with his playcaller on the D and that is the MLB we will be taking a MLB first and probably will try to trade up for a DT also. After we get Peppers in free agency we will no longer need much on that D except for some safeties. Remember Peppers said he would like to come to a 3-4 defense as well as to a place that will help maximize his potential I think he would love to come here and play some Denver Broncos’ football. Hey who knows we might get lucky and land Suggs also that would be stellar. After all we are way under the cap this year could spend some money on players not wash outs this year. either way the reason our DTs look so bad is because our LB unit sucks. Deffense is part of a whole if your LBs suck then the o-line will duoble team the D-line allowing big run lanes when your LBs overpursue the play. Once this starts happening the corners have to come up for the run allowing big plays in the pass so I don’t think there is a thing wrong with our d-line except we need a premier DE. Throw in a MLB that gets the LBs in positon to play correctly and we are golden now the DBs can play the pass cause the O-line will have to start calling plays to stop the LBs allowing our D-line to get off their blocks and stop the run it starts in the Middle on D gents and the keystone is the MLB position. Point proven Al Wilson left but Lynch and everybody else was still here but we still sucked after an AFC championship year? No my friends the problem on our D is we need a MLB. With a great MLB coming up the middle on run blitzes it will allow our speed DTs to get down field also now they have to move the double team inside instead of outside in order to pass and run that leaves our speed rushers all alone on the outside now we have containment we can now start playing the pass better it is so simple stupid I don’t understand why nobody can see this.

All this running back talk is so RIDICULOUS & STUPID, ya’ll think this is fantasy football or ya’ll just have no knowledge of football. Our defense has been trash for the last couple years & ya’ll talking running back in the 1st Rd

  8. thatdude807 says:

Oh when did McD hire BRONCOFANATIC4 onto the staff? After we get Peppers we should be good on D, oh-oh-oh u know cause he said he wanted to play in a 3-4 D. Ok free agency didn’t even start yet, he didn’t say he wanted to play for the broncos, & how many other teams uses the 3-4. I would love to have peppers but get a grip & our D-line do suck i don’t know what Gms u was watching.

  9. papacy808 says:

I agree… This running back talk is STUPID! I say we put all our effort into the “D” draft and/or trade acordingly. This years O-line will not let anyone close to Cutler. Let Jay throw 60 times a game for 5000 plus yards. Maualuga and Peppers ??? Any thoughts?

  10. Atwater4HOF says:

I’m pretty sure that Peppers is gonna get the franchise tag slapped on him, meaning he will cost us some serious compensation picks or a trade to get him and I don’t think that is a good idea. Haynesworth or Will Smith are the two options we need to go with and pickup either Suggs (who I think will be kept by BALT) or Scott via free agency. ORAKPO is the guy we need to get, he is like a James Harrison type of athlete that we can stick at DE or OLB. After that, we gotta get a DB or S. I like the kid from VANDY DJ Moore. Someone mentioned earlier about stealing Jim Leonard from BALTIMORE, I really like that thought and teamed with Barrett we would have a good set of safeties.

And stop with the RB talk… Hillis and Torain both showed they are capable despite their limited opportunities due to injury. Plus Anthony Aldridge will be available to us this year and he has dynamite speed and would be a great change of pace to Hillis or Torain. Whoever made the comment about having a white running back…. WHO CARES he is a stud skin color doesn’t matter bro

  11. Marshall 1...T.O. 0! says:

Dont be surprised if the broncos draft a running back in the first round. Ex. Kenshawn Moreno, Percy Harvin. If not early, go with the kid from Clemson, Ilinnois, or Jonson from CSU.

  12. Atwater4HOF says:

it would make no sense to do so when we have capable running backs. even tatum bell was successful for us late in the season. if we waste a first round pick on getting a RB we are gonna be very sorry. our D was the reason our #2 ranked offense didn’t get a chance to tear up the ravens steelers and rest of the top ranked Ds in the playoffs. we gotta go D for the first 4 rounds in my opinion unless someone with high value falls far like moreno slippin to the 2nd round or something.

PLEASE DONT DRAFT A RB DENVER!!!

  13. ColoradoBoy says:

CHAMP BAILEY PLAYING SAFTEY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! That should be a move to consider. He

  14. BroncoBoyest95 says:

OH MAN reading some of your guys STUPID posts really makes me mad!! Come on u really think theyll move champ to saftey?? then who will play corner bly and paymah?? and about albert, i would love to have him but if you think about it it is not going to happen.. And another thing i read some guy saying get vilma FYI the saints got him last year and are not gonna let him go it would be like us getting rid of DJ. HEy maybe we get peppers but probably not so this is my draft

In the first round well either get a lineman or linebacker say we get a lineman then our 2nd and 3rd round picks will be limebackers and vise versa.

I really like Ray-Mal not so much lauranitis. Cushing is ok but i wouldnt draft him to high. I also like orakpo and the two tackles from Boston College

Go Broncos and please keep ur horrible posts to ur self
    (getting vilma GIMMIE A BREAK)

  15. GoChampGo!! says:

I think we have to look at Rey. He will be an instant upgrade at MLB and a very good value if we get him at #12. Then I think we need to get a safety in the 2nd. I like chung in the 2nd but nobody else and not Johnson from Bama maybe if he falls to the 3rd round but not in the second. If we don’t get Chung or Moore at safety we could go with Ron Brace DT out of boston college although at #44 that may be to high.

  16. Atwater4HOF says:

broncosboyest if we have the money to spend on Peppers we have the money for Haynesworth and Haynesworth can’t be franchised this year because of something in his contract. I know you want to sound like you are smarter than everyone else but Peppers and Haynesworth are gonna command very similiar $$ and Peppers can be franchised.

  17. 15themarshall15 says:

most of you dont know what your talking about im not wasting my time reading this stuff where are all the die hard bronco fans. you guys are kidding right. getting vilma would be a great move yes the saints wanna keep him but thats up to him. we could get any free agent we have cap room i just wanna see what mac d gots. wait and see. go champ that would be the ideal draft getting any of them guys. moore isnt gonna be possible but chung will so will michael hamlin. free agents have to be huge we need one if not all three vilma haynesworth and peppers that would be a top 5 defense

  18. creed24 says:

I say that we move DJ to the middle. he did play there and was second in tackles when he did. saying that, they need to get all these undersized d edns that we have and start putting them in line backing drills( Moss, maybe Doom)? But, say we can snag a few good players in free agency, say Will Smith, Suggs, anyother playmaker. I would go after a home run hitter in Knoshaun Moreno in the first round. All you guys need to look at our backs last year. I would not keep any one of them except for maybe Hillis. Having them 2 in the backfield would make us the best offense, possibly ever. We do have the guy that designed the 16-0 Pats offense.
If we do not get any defensive playmakers in FA then, we trade up for Aaron Curry, and still move DJ to the middle.

  19. 15themarshall15 says:

Ramses Barden cal poly wide reciever yeah look at the article on this guy imagine that as another target not that we need one just intersting very interesting
