is anyone else mad at the bucs?
Oldsouth YOur are right about Jenkins character. However many teams are wanting to trade up for his services according to multiple sources. So 35 and 36 are the hot picks to have because the trade market is hot for them. So Jenkins is a hot pick right now because teams are after him. Teams wanting to trade in that area are also wanting a WR as there are 3 big guys still there. Olinemen as there are some 1st round guys who have fallen. Upshaw is there also. I hope Denver stays and makes the smart pick of Vinny Curry then trading back up to a high 2nd for Reyes. Thats would help our Dline greatly. Then at 57 Wolfe Winn or Ta’amu. I see Crick is hot on here. He wouldnt be bad there either. I really think we need to end up with at least 3 picks in the 2nd taking (My hopes) Vinny Curry or Upshaw Reyes or Wolfe Ta’amu or Winn.
ab, i want Denver to draft Hill with the first, trade up and get another high 2nd and take Upshaw if he gets there, Curry if he doesn’t, and take Reyes with the 57th. That would give us a big receiver to pair with Opthomas Prime on the outsides with Decker rotating on the outsides and in the slot with the Slot Machine and Caldwell and Jason Hill for depth. Cut Matthew Willis. Upshaw paired with Miller and Doom at DE would give us a FREAK D-line, even before we take Reyes. Reyes and Warren collapsing the middle and Upshaw, Miller, and Doom rounding the corners would give an opposing QB about 2 seconds max to throw the ball. On most plays. That would be awesome.
part of me wanted to trade up to 17th to take Melvin Ingram ahead of the chargers. that would be some fireworks in the pass rush.
BNO14, I like Upshaw a lot. My biggest hope is that we can end up with not just 4 2nds but 2 3rds and a 5th and 6th.
Curry and Upshaw the pick at 36. I prefer Curry because Curry is a lot more natural pass rusher than Upshaw is.
I really think we can get 42 from the Dolphins for DJ 101 and a 3rd next year. There i would take Reyes
Then I would like to see Denver trade next years 2nd and 188 to the Patriots for 48. Take the best LB available there. Lavonte David Bobby Wagner or even Ronnel Lewis. Wouldnt mind S George Iloka who many say will need to move to OLB in the NFL. Anyone of them can replace DJ.
Then at 57 take Wolfe Ta’amu or even Winn. Reyes and whoever we get here will be huge for the middle. If its Wolfe and Reyes we would have three edge pass rushers and two inside rushers who can stop the run. Opposing Olines would have a hard time as any of these 3 plus Reyes Doom Curry and Miller rushing. Wouldnt be able to stop them all. Those 5 players make it seem like we have 6 or 7 pass rushers because like i said they all can get to the backfield.
Then trade 120 a 4th and 5th next year for a high 3rd to grab a RB. Polk James Pead Pierce or Turbin may all be here.
Trade 87 to get a lower 3rd or higher 4th and a late 5th or high 6th
Take WR with the late 3rd high 4th. TY Hilton or Broyles.
137 take Foles or Moore. Foles preferably as he is more like Manning.
Then at the last pick the late 5th high 6th get OG Ryan Miller.
It would be funny if we did that cause then only one pick belonged to Denver (57) since 137 was for Lloyd.
I have already given a breakdown for why IMO That would be good moves. If it happens I will crap my pants and demand an NFL job LOL but I doubt it will. I love wheeling and dealing and STILL getting the guys you want. Denver is doing that! I hope they keep it up. Would be great to see these players in Denver next year. Only one of course for the picks where i have multiple choices.
Oh and for everyone who cares, the girlfriend had a ultrasound today and she had to set up one again early next week. The doc today thought she heard two TWO baby heartbeats and thought she saw two but said it was hard to tell. I wasnt there unfortunately i had to pay bills.
AB…Congrats Brother! Good Luck!!!!
Thanks Mike…..Im gonna need it…..LOL
Man that was a long trip to Walmart. Felt like I would never get out of there!!
alaska-I really like that you have added some Sooners in there although I dont think the Lewis you mentioned will fit our scheme aswell as Travis. Like I stated earlier, I see Ronnel Lewis as a poor man’s Von Miller. But the thing is we already have Von Miller so we dont need another. What we need is someone to compliment Von not mimic him. He needs someone to be the Robin to his Batman; for instanst Ryan Clark to Troy Polamalu
I really dont think we need to trade DJ. He is a solid player but he needs to fix some off the feild stuff. I would like to get Travis Lewis to be his backup and possibly take over our MLB spot in a couple of years.
royalt thats why i have Wagner and David before him. I would prefer either of them over R Lewis. My slick pick would Iloka and moving him to OLB from S. Which like i said there has been much talk of teams doing in the NFL. Basically R Lewis would be the last choice there behind Wagner Davind and Iloka for guys a LB. IMO That would be a bit early to take Kendricks. But he wouldnt be bad there either.
alaska-Have you forgotten about Brown out of North Carolina? If I’m correct he was projected to go in round 1 before the combine.
No I havnt forgotten Brown. I really like the kid AND hes a Tar Heels (which I love) but hes to much like Miller to take earlier than where i have him. Not so good at pass coverage ok run stopper great at pressuring the QB. I would put him where I have my LBs but I dont think he will be there.
We’re getting closer ladies and gentleman!!! Just when I thought I had an easy work day, I got (orange) crushed…. Lol
The weekend is almost here folks!!! And our Broncos family is gonna grow tonight!!!!
If this were DJ’s first off field issue, I’d probably would overlook it. The fact is he is seemingly having multiple issues with off-field problems along with decent performances. If he was having outstanding performances I’d still be concerned but with his current situation, I wouldn’t have a problem if we traded him.
AB…you know I love ya, but I don’t see anyone in tihs draft worth trading our 2013 2nd round pick for!
We will move around tonight but I would be surprised if we trade next year picks unless it is a 5th or later.
Brian thats how I feel about it. He hasnt amazed me but is decent but is up in age and off field issues IMO make him expendable.
Mike the reason I have that is because we are in a win NOW mode and giving it up gives us a better chance to get more players NOW the help us win NOW. Plus it helps fill out our needs.
I hope EFX holds off on a QB tonight, and this draft for that matter.. Next years QB class is very good, and none of these guys left are that great.. We need some play makers ON the field!!!
I cant wait for 6 o’clock!!!!!!!! Central time anyways
7pm for me!!! T minus 2 hours baby!!!
Lol I cant wait for 3 o’clock!! Alaskan Time anyways!! LOL

The draft starts Elway o’clock here in NY
I still think they’re considering finding our next franchise QB in this years draft so they can have a couple of good years learning under Manning.
I like Foles later than Brock tonight.
TWINS!!!!!!!!!!! lmao good luck with that buddy lol
Congrats Man
Btw, to continue main’s question from last night on Bill Belichick. I had the radio on earlier, and they were talking about his draft history, and it really isn’t that great. They have had a TON of picks of late, and they have been more and more tapping into the FA market, meaning his drafting is suspect..
He is, however, a GREAT coach, and terrific when it comes to trades and knowing when to cuts ties with an aging player.. Like I said before, if he wasn’t a HC, he’d be the CEO of a venture capital firm or hedge fund IMO
Brian, I agree…especially if they can get him with their later 2nd round pick. Brock Osweiler is the obvious choice….and I really like him.
I’m not saying they should take a QB in the 2nd…but they might.
AB, Congrats on the baby(ies). You are in for some fun. Buy your bloood pressure medicine in bulk. With your temperment you’ll need it. Kids can tire you out but also are the biggest blessing. My wife said I mellowed with the kids so there may be hope for you. What ya think about the WR Moss out of So. Dakota? May be a late round gem.
007, Maybe Bellicheck as Madoff replacement.
I wonder it Tide will make an appearance if we draft Upshaw???
Buck with kids i am surprisingly calm and patient. (My brother and his three kids live in the same house) I have been around kids all my life. Im not so calm and patient with adults. Kids you have to be as they dont understand right away and have to have the patience to teach them right and wrong and all that. Adults should know it.
As for the WR I will have to look him up before I state something. I do like the guy that people have been talking about from Beloit (sp?) I cant think of his name.
buck – I hate BB, but have to give the man credit, however, he is not very trust worthy, so maybe a top executive at Goldman Sachs is more like it…
Btw, not sure if you saw my reply a few blogs ago, about the “force feeding” comment.. I was being sarcastic for the record
Another question…which tv station do you all think is the best to watch the draft, NFL or ESPN?
Two late WRs that may end up UDFAs I think we should go after if they become UDFAs are Danny Coale and Devon Wylie.
Main I personally prefer NFLN because I like Mayocks analysis of players more than Mel Kipers. Plus a good many other reason. Basically I just find NFLN more knowledgeable about all the trades and players than ESPN and seem to just cover better.
Not a fan of Kiper, but I like Gruden
OT I agree on that. I have always been a fan of Gruden. Not so of Kiper. But heres something funny from my local newspaper today about Gruden
They did an article about the draft about what people say and what they mean.
Here is the one for Gruden.
What Gruden says: ” I love this kid, I love this team, I love this pick”
What he means: ” I love this kid, I love this team, I love this pick”
I hope I’m not setting myself up for disappointment, but I really want a pass rusher, for the 100th time………..
I really hope we can get someone who will be a starter from Day 1.
I’ll promise to eat curry morning, day and night for a month if we draft Vinny tonight!!!
Sndvl – what happens if a blogger selects the right player, but in the wrong selection number? Are any points awarded?
40 mins untill the second round beings!!!
Boy radio should be fun tonight! Get to update listeners on the draft live. Of course I do a music show so I won’t be doing a broadcast of it, but still, will be fun.
How often do you do a radio show?
I do two shows a week on campus here. Nothing special but it’s fun.
Yea i bet, must be fun. Id have a blast thats for sure.
It’s a ton of fun, I’ve been doing it for about 5 years now. I’ve done a lot of different shows already and it’s always entertaining.
Its good you’ve stuck with it. Always a plus if your doing something you really enjoy.
LAX – Denver University vs. Duke tonight at 10pm (EST) on ESPNU
Ya, well I try to be involved in anything music-related so it’s not that hard sticking with it haha.
