Sports Authority Field at Mile High is opening its doors for football this July. Well, soccer.
The Confederation of North, Central America and Caribbean Football Association (CONCACAF) announced in January that the Broncos’ home stadium is one of 13 venues that will welcome the 2013 CONCACAF Gold Cup from July 7-28, 2013.
Now the official schedule has been announced. On Sunday, July 14, Sports Authority Field will host Martinique vs. Mexico at 2 p.m. and Panama vs. Canada at 4:30 p.m.
Tickets to the matches will be available to the general public starting Thursday, March 21 at 10 a.m. by visiting GoldCup.org or Ticketmaster.com. Special pre-sales for Denver Broncos and Colorado Rapids season ticket holders will be available starting tomorrow, Thursday, March 14.
“We expect yet another competition fueled by passionate fans brought together in a celebration that will hopefully inspire a whole new generation of players,” CONCACAF President Jeffrey Webb said in a statement.
It’s the first time the region’s premier national team tournament will visit Sports Authority Field, in addition to seven other new venues.
In 2011, the tournament drew more than 600,000 fans through 13 match days, including nine sell-outs.
In alphabetical order, Belize, Canada, Costa Rica, Cuba, El Salvador, Haiti, Honduras, Martinique, Mexico, Panama, Trinidad & Tobago and the United States qualified for the tournament.
Taking place every two years, the Gold Cup has established itself as the region’s most popular national team tournament, routinely drawing capacity crowds and millions of viewers across the region. Featuring the best players from the confederation, the tournament includes the top 12-nations in the region.
“We would like to thank all cities and venues in the United States for their interest in our Confederation’s Gold Cup and congratulate the ones that have been selected to host its 2013 edition.” Webb said. “CONCACAF is looking forward to a successful tournament, working in close partnership with both stadium and local authorities, while expanding the reach of our competition to a larger number of fans in more locations throughout the United States.”
Other host cities include Atlanta, Baltimore, Chicago, Dallas, Hartford, Houston, Los Angeles, Miami, New York, Portland, Salt Lake City and Seattle.

Gase has come out and said that he’s going to be more aggressive calling plays as OC.
Kinda interesting that DT Kevin Vickerson (2 yrs, $5 mil) got slightly more than Terrance Knighton (2 yrs, $4.5 mil). Big Vick drew interest
Some corners like to play one side of the field. We can line up big one play, small the next. Then reverse order and repeat. Lol
any new news?
Did Vick draw interest, or did we just give him a fair deal since we liked him?
DRC is staying in Denver tonight. Denver still talking to Nhamdi and DRC about deal. Also trying to get Nhamdi to come for a visit. Last I heard on that.
He took a cut last year too.
Vickerson drew interest. He had a visit set up I guess. Dont know with who.
Buccs all in on Revis trade. Hold up is still 13th overall this year. Jets want it Buccs dont want to give it.
I doubt it personally
Former Cowboys LB Dan Conner visited Raiders today.
I hope Revis goes to TB, and we punk him again when we play them week 13.
DRC better be a bronco by the time i get off work tomorrow at 3 or my free agency excitement will be ruinedlol
I dont think we play Tampa this year. The NFC division we play is the East. AFC South Ravens and Patriots.
*my bad, looking at the 2012 schedule..
we dont play tampa
I want DRC too randy. I’m not sold on Nnamdi for some reason.
Lol OT.
Josh Cribbs to AZ sources tell Albert Breer.
Shame on me for going to espn for a 2013 schedule… Yikes…….
I like DRC better. Bigger stronger younger and not a former Faider!
I like DRC better. Bigger stronger younger and not a former Faider!
tampa will be tough no doubt especially if they get to keep their 1st rounder and bring in revis.
That double posted? Weird. Apologies everyone.
Never again AB! Lol
Tampa can have Revis!!!!!
I wonder if we are still wheelin n dealing with DRC at Dove Valley or are they waiting until tomorrow? The suspense! HaHa!!
So the draft will be for mostly for depth. LOL
I dont think DRC is still at Dove Valley. It sounds like he left for a hotel and will return in the morning.
I initially prepared myself for us getting Revis if it happened, But I never wanted it. I heard a respected source talk about Peterson’s comeback from his knee surgery, and he said for every AP, there’s another guy whose surgery won’t take, and will have to be redone. Everyone is different. I hope for his sake he comes back, but I’d prefer us stay away from knee surgery signings…
I can live with that. Oh the pain!!!!!! LOL
I wonder how many draft boards will have to be redone after this free agency..
Love the pickups so far…Mendenhall now a Cardinal, Goldson now a Buc.Bush a Lion, Reed almost a TExan,…everyones flying off the shelves except Doom. what about Freeney and Seymour?
isnt drc smaller that nnamdi?
Nhamdi or DRC will be a Bronco by tomorrows end.
Oops they are both 6 ft 2
wow i didnt realize that. thats good size and drc also runs a sub 4.4 40. impressive.
Can’t wait to get some length at corner!
I feel Nhamdi will be the next Dre Bly if he signs here
honestly i’m not big on nnamdi. i’d much rather have drc and i dont think nnamdi will do very much here.
Dre Bly and Andre Goodman
New blog.
You guys are crazy, ill take nnamdi EVERYTIME.
DRC bigger stronger etc? Ha … the guys a pretty boy. He is a Diva that barely tackles … has good speed and is long but doesn’t play as physical … the better CB is not even a question … now the younger CB is another story … Cards virtually through him away to the eagles, and while nnamdi was more of cap concern cuz he was drawing double digits i believe .. they for the most part just outright opted for no more DRC. Ill take either but don’t get it twisted. Nnamdi always has and is better. The former raider thing aside that is. Nnamdi is extremely physical and good at man. Struggles with zone however.
TRB
DRC is a Bronco. 1 year deal.
nicely put @TRB
DRC was a jewel his first year. But i believe he was let go because of PP. whom they would rather pay top-dollar down the line.same physical size and speed but PP was much more dynamic.
Ndamdi just didnt fit in the Eagles scheme.they had the worst DCs last two seasons. I bet if he had played under late Jimmy Johnsons defense he would be racking up picks like Asante did.
Its tough, but now grade CBs who fights for it (ala Chris Harris) Physical (Sherman), Intellegence (Champ), and speed!
Both DRC and Nmamdi will be great additions. We need a man-to-man type corner and a rangy safety
