On Tuesday, punter Britton Colquitt signed his restricted free agent tender.
The fifth-year punter is the franchise career leader in gross and net punting average with a minimum of 100 punts.
In 2012, he set a new franchise record with a 42.1 net punting average, which ranked third in the NFL. He also held opponents to an average of just 6 return yards, which ranked second in the league.
For his career, Colquitt has played in 48 regular-season games and punted 254 times for 11,717 yards (46.1 avg.) with 18 touchbacks and 79 kicks placed inside the 20 (39.5 net). In three career playoff contests, he has punted 16 times for 680 yards (42.5 avg.) with zero touchbacks and five kicks placed inside the 20 (39.4 avg.).
Last week, Andrew Mason wrote that Colquitt is a crucial part of a special teams unit that one could argue is near the top of the entire league.
