All you can & need to do guys is win Sunday! Offense, lets play like we need 1st downs first, the rest will take care of itself. Defense, please don't get lulled into thinking that the Chefs can't or won't try to run the ball on you. (Remember the Waders, remember the Redskins). This is our season as well as yours. Good luck guys, heres to overcoming the naggin injuries & playin up to your abilities.

Uh oh. I just read an article on Fox Sports saying that Marshall isn't coming back. That would be a major problem. It said he wanted too much money. I think that he's worked for a big contract. Sure, $10 million per year may be ridiculous, but he would totally deserve 5-8 million.

Well duh...........it's about time. I was tired of watching Berger kick the opposing team into great field position. We would need a 45 yard+ kick and he'd give us 30 yards. Not a smart move getting rid of Kern. Welcome back Colquitt!

Oldsouthstander,
I remember Elway's rookie year all too well. From him telling Baltimore that he would play baseball if they drafted him, the bucket of ice water incident, the lining up under the guard against San Diego, to the "How Dare He wear number 7, that was Craig Morton's number," that was going around in the local media at the time (Now most Bronco fans don't know that Morton wore number 7). Dan Reeves pulled the whole "Throw you in the water, and either you'll sink or swim" number on him. He was horrible his rookie year, to the point where Broncos fans thought it was a horrible trade, and when DeBerg went down, actually chanted for Kubiak to come in instead. 5 Super Bowl appearances later, 2 of them being victories, and those fans who were calling for his head, are thankful that he stuck around.
I find it really funny, that most Broncos fans have forgotten that Dan Reeves tried to trade Elway to Washington (I believe it was in 1985), and yet John didn't have a temper tantrum, didn't bash the organization or the fans, call Dan Reeves a liar or that "his trust had been violated" to the media. He just prepared for training camp, and let the whole scenario play out. That is the difference between a professional and a cry baby.

bronccrushfan, thanks for the clarification, don't feel bad I used to do the same thing a lot, but a long time ago I realized saying most, the majority, a lot of, etc... went a long way in keeping the peace. Good post.

baylinorcrush: Actually, Elway was the starting QB his rookie year, but he was so bad that DeBerg came in and pulled a few out. Elway was then pulled as a starter. DeBerg later went down and Elway was starter from that point on.

bylinorcrush,
I guess I should have said most Broncos fans, because I fully understand that there are certain Broncos fans, like you and myself, that wanted to help Cutler pack. The point I was making was that to compare the two QB's is comparing apples and oranges. Most fans want to make it out that McDaniels traded Cutler for Orton, which was not the case. Football has been full of trades, where a starter was traded for draft picks. Who can forget the Cowboys trading Herschel Walker to the Vikings for multiple draft picks. Jimmy Johnson had a horrible first year after that trade, and Cowboys fans wanted to run him out of town for that trade. However, those picks became the nucleus for a very dominate Cowboys teams for many years afterwards. I look at the potential of KM, Robert Ayers, and Brandstater for the future of this organization. The reasons why Brandstater went as low as he did was A) He played at Fresno State, which is in the WAC. B) He had a high TD to INT ratio, because of Fresno State's pass happy offense. C) He didn't have a great combine because of the torn oblique muscle on his throwing side (Which also contributed to a higher TD/INT ratio), and D) His senior year Fresno State was in the top 10 in dropped passes (Which lead him to have a lowered completion percentage from his junior to senior year). There are many reasons why the Broncos have lost 7 of their last 9, but to single out Orton as the reason why is just silly. I apologize if I made you feel as if I was including you in the amalgam of Broncos fans who want to compare the two QB's, like the trade was just between the two.

bronccrushfan, Bronco fans do not all think alike as you make it sound. I think Orton is Better than Cutler, I was one of the first happy camper when we traded him, and I think Brandstater has the potential to be better than Orton. You need to be on more often and you would notice that us Bronco fans think for ourselves and not as a group.

I find it hilarious how Broncos fans like to compare Cutler and Orton. Hello, Orton was just thrown in the trade because there were a ton of Bears fans who were loyal to Orton which always would have led to a QB controversy in Chicago. You take Cutler's arm strength and physical ability, take out his 1 cent boozed out head and replace it with Orton's football sense and accuracy and you have an elite franchise QB. Need I remind everyone NO QB has thrown more redzone INT's, than Cutler. As far as Brandstater goes, I watched him single handedly demolish CSU last year in the New Mexico Bowl, with a torn oblique muscle. He can make all the throws and has a football head. Patriots fans in 2000 were saying that Brady wasn't the future and they should trade up in the draft. Imagine if the Patriots staff would have listened to the fans......
