Clady Withdraws from Pro Bowl

January 15th, 2013 - 2:55pm by Stuart Zaas

Tackle Ryan Clady has withdrawn from the 2013 Pro Bowl due to injury, it was announced on Tuesday.

He will be replaced by Bengals tackle Andrew Whitworth.

Denver could still have five Pro Bowl players this year, however, as wide receiver Demaryius Thomas is next in line for a berth at wideout. Should another receiver withdraw due to injury, Thomas would earn his first career selection. If New England defeats Baltimore, Thomas would also earn his first trip to the league’s All Star game since Wes Welker would be headed to the Super Bowl and would be unable to play in the Pro Bowl.

Denver’s other Pro Bowlers include quarterback Peyton Manning, linebacker Von Miller, cornerback Champ Bailey and defensive end Elvis Dumervil.

Some early names to replace McCoy-

    Tom Moore
    Adam Gase
    Ken Wisenhut
    Norv Turner

Looks like the offseason work starts early! Glad to see JDR will be around for a second Pony ride…

    GO BRONCOS!!!

Norv turner is the browns oc

I had’t even noticed that Clady was injured bad enough to take himself out of the pro-bowl, but most likely a preventative measure. Most these guys in the trenches are continually playing with injuries, I wonder if he was hurt enough to pull himself from the Championship game if we would have gotten there?

  6. BroncoRoyaltyEst.1979 says:

Nice list snvl… all would be good choices. I wonder if Ken is going to Philly…

Glad to see Clady bow out of a meaningless game. Why risk injury when you’ve got a monster contract in the works?

Can’t forget the D is right royalty!!! Lol

I just got an update saying the contract of DB coach Ron Milus was not renewed; hired Cory Undlin as his replacement.

  13. CARAMELLOO says:

Man I can’t go on any other site but a Broncos site since we are out of the playoffs. It just sickens me every time I see or hear something about the Ray Lewis’s I mean the Ravens.

  14. tnalen66 says:

im glad we made a db coaching change, glad McCoy is gone cuz he was all about his interviews not about winning a SB. Now we need to send Fox to KC! So glad they banned the bird brain. So do you think Moore will be our new OC? Mr. Bowlen is a class act.

  15. 3rdGeneration says:

We seem to be an AFC coaching mill. I wish they’d at least get out if our division.

  16. tnalen66 says:

It did not help the Raiders they went backwards , so i hope the same for Phillis & the Chargers.

  17. tnalen66 says:

Mc Coy was all about himself not the team ,past two years he is out interviewing during the playoffs. We will be better without him

  18. 3rdGeneration says:

I’m not sure what all the hype is about McCoy quite frankly. Don’t get me wrong, I thought he did a fine job, but he was McHurricanes puppet for 3 years followed by implementing the worst offense in the league, followed by coaching one of the greatest QBs of all time who runs his own offense.

  19. tnalen66 says:

His offensives b/4 this year were never in the top 15.

  20. tnalen66 says:

Just like Allen last year i thought why would he be such a big deal he just got blown out by the pats.

  21. broncsbomber66 says:

Wow, that guy really was annoying! Important thing to consider, EXPERIENCE & HUNGER. Thats what our team has now. Really looking forward to next year.

  22. WitnessedTheDefeatLive says:

We lost in devastating fashion to the Jags, then won back to back super bowls. History is repeating itself!

  23. RH709 says:

Norv Turner (besides going someplace else) would never come hear. Him and Manning run completely different offenses and both have done it their way for 15+ years. Never going to happen.

I say, Tom Moore or Adam Gase.

  24. RH709 says:

3rdGeneration, in McCoys defense…he ran 3 different offenses with three different QBs and had some level of success with all three. That is impressive.

  25. RH709 says:

Tnalen, you can expect the Chargers to further regress. Phillip Rivers was once a decent QB but he has always had a side arm type motion to his throw. That motion causes the shoulder to deteriorate at a faster pace than a guy with a over the top motion. Phillips are is on the down hill side much sooner because of this. Watch as he will continue to struggle.

  26. broncogirl2378 says:

I have never been on this blog before. I just wanted to say I love my Denver Broncos. I have a good feeling about this next couple of seasons. Everyone have a good day!!

  27. brian_schneider says:

The Broncos have released their secondary coach, they say he’s not a scapegoat for the breakdown in coverage in the loss to Baltimore, but that’s exactly what he is.

  28. strandoftds82 says:

I have no peeve about McCoy interviewing and becoming HC of the Chargers. I don’t think it really matters who the OC is with the exception of Peyton’s old OC Tom Moore which would give us a great edge. For those who don’t know the other QB it was that McCoy coached and with great reults was Jake Delhomme when Carolina went to their only SB. Even Peyton Manning said he deserves a HC job. We have Manning as our QB and am stoked about our future still. Good luck Mike McCoy. But being in our division I hope we do you in. BLEEDING ORANGE 2013!!

  29. horsepower1 says:

    Welcome Broncogirl!

The reason we will be ok without McCoy is that we have a good Owner and GM (they bleed orange and blue). I think Elway has been smart in who he puts in place in this organization. I hope they put a tireless OC to go with PEYDIRT work ethic. I hope they do their homework before just letting someone who is a friend of so and so come in and takeover.

    GO BRONCOS!!!!!!!

  30. raidrhadr says:

I say Gase or Studesville becomes OC.

  31. RH709 says:

Hmmmmm where oh where could Tom Moore fit it?!? I just can’t seem to place it?

  33. broncogirl2378 says:

Thanks Horsepower 1!! Im still in the learning process. I know the game football. just a little lost with drafts and positions we need. I was sad about the loss on Saturday but very proud of the season. I knew at the beginning of the season it was going to take time for the offense to gel. Next season we are going to be awesome and we gonna be very hungry. I cant wait. Go broncos!!

  37. Bronco_Turtle says:

What up RH! How much money did you lose the first two weeks of the playoffs betting games?

  38. Bronco_Turtle says:

    Chip Kelly in Philly…

  39. RH709 says:

I lost 50. Then I lost the 100 I put on us to win the SB back before pre-season. I considered the 100 an already sunk cost so I don’t care too much and the 50 isn’t enough to get angry about either. It sucks but not a big deal.

  40. RH709 says:

I stayed away from the blog for a few days to avoid all the gut reaction talk. I’m not one to get all up in arms and I know this blog was crawling with that from the non-regular types. The regulars around here are way more level headed.

  41. RH709 says:

I think there is plenty of blame to spread around for our loss but heck, sometimes the improbable happens.

Gotta hand it to Holiday though. He is blame free on this one.

  42. Bronco_Turtle says:

    Yep… Holliday was a baller!

I think it was clear that most of the blog didn’t have a great feel for our opponent on Saturday and that led to much over confidence… Baltimore is very solid when Healthy, and I’d been trying to tell people that since before we beat them at M&T…

It was sickening to be at the Stadium… it was almost like after the pick 6 in the first a dark cloud came out over the game and it never went away

  43. Broncos20 says:

welcome Broncogirl!! i’ve been here once in a while and these guys here are the best fans ever!!!

*** I like the Tome Moore name being in the mix!!!! awesome read @ RH

  44. The Dane says:

This story about Te’o is crazy, could hurt him big time in the draft.

  45. alaskanbronco06 says:

RH the improbable does happen. I cant remember who it was but he gives percentages at different points to point to one team winning. Denver had a 30-40% chance of winning when we punted. It jumped to 80% when the Ravens got the ball. At 30 seconds left with the Ravens having the ball at their 30 yard line, Denver had a 99.9% chance of winning.

  46. alaskanbronco06 says:

Nevermind. I misread the article. It was all John Foxs percentages. My apologies.

Here is the full article though.

  47. RH709 says:

AB those stats come from advancednlfstats.com Burke does them and he is awesome.

That Te’o story is unreal. I have no idea what to think.

  48. RH709 says:

Maybe it is just me but after reading that story, I think Te’o's GF is actually they other dude but they are too scared to come forward because the “football culture” wouldn’t accept them.
