Ryan Clady has been recognized as an example for youth football players because of his fundamentals.
USA Football, the sport’s national governing body on youth and amateur levels, and the NFL Players Association selected Clady along with 25 other NFL players to the inaugural USA Football/NFLPA “All-Fundamentals” Team. This 26-man roster honors the NFL’s most fundamentally-sound players who also commit themselves to service in their communities.
Clady was selected as an example particularly for aspiring offensive tackles to emulate because of his quick hands in pass protection.
In addition to his fundamentally-strong play, Clady does exemplary work in the Boise, Idaho, community. His efforts have benefitted the Ada County (Idaho) Sheriff’s Employees Association and many other local causes.
As part of this honor, Clady will designate a youth or high school football program to receive a $1,500 equipment grant from USA Football. He will also receive a pewter-dipped “All-Fundamentals” Team helmet trophy produced by Riddell, USA Football’s official helmet and equipment partner.

should be recognized for more than this but congrats all the same
Yea, no doubt, he should be working on his second straight probowl, but he got robbed last year, and they better not over look him this year. Congrats Ryan
Congrats Clady, best left tackle in the game, see you in the pro bowl BEAST!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
HOLY S#!% bout time he gets recognized hes one of the best tackles in the NFL if not the best… I think hes the best!!! he better be in this years pro bowl
You are the best Ryan… Love your game and I love that you are a Bronco!
big up to clady he is the best but who sould we draft http://profootballtalk.nbcsports.com/2009/12/08/tim-tebow-will-play-whatever-position-hes-told-to-play/ that y i like him he said he will hard to play qb
Harris is out for the year.Bad news.
BFE92, all I can say to that is let’s hope Orton remains healthy, remember what happened when lefty Simms was in and Harris was not there to protect his blind side? UGLY. Simms comes in, no Harris, game over, season over… But with right arm Orton in, Clady is still there to protect his blind side, we shouldn’t miss to big of a beat. Orton is the key to the rest of this season, and if he goes down, we would be better off with right arm rookie Brandstater in rather than lefty Simms. Just the way I see it. ORTON OR DONE!
Baylinorcrush…I think you could say that about a lot of teams in the NFL…Same way if manning went down…Brady went down…and one could only hope..Rivers…haha. Clady will definitely have his hands full with Freeney. I think what we need to be concerned about is polombus on Mathis. However, McDaniels will probably scheme to have someone chip block mathis to slow him down. It should be an interesting game this weekend. I think that if we can run the ball and keep Manning off the field than we have a good chance to win. Here’s to the orange and blue Playoff BOUND!
Go Broncos!
shutout, with all due respect, you missed my whole point about our replacement QB being a lefty and our right tackle going down for the season, hence Simms blind side would be handled by much less capable hands, which we saw when he played the Redskins, Harris was out, and it was a disaster. So in essence our situation is worse than most teams if we lose our starting QB.
I like to go in depth about analizing things, as you probably have noticed by now, so don’t expect me to just come out here with the obvious, no help needed here in that category. LOL.
Well at least Polumbus’ development will speed up a bit compared to what could have been. Not saying this is a good thing (Harris being out, of course Clady being recognized is a good thing), but it’s nice to have a backup on the OL other than Hamilton who has experience and may one day take over. I don’t see why any NFL team would be crazy enough to draft Tebow early. He just won’t work out as an NFL quarterback, and it will take time to develop him for another position. He’s a great player, but I see mid to late 2nd round as a better spot to pick him, maybe later if you can.
The thing about Tebow is the guy is a WINNER, and that is the one trait that is hard to overlook. Come to think of it we should know that pretty well, that’s exactly what Orton is. Both have no perticular skill that would make them stand out, but they are both winners because they have the heart. There will be plenty of coaches willing to take a shot on the guy, it wouldn’t surprise me to see him go middle of the first. IMO, The winner intangible is invaluable, ask Cutler, LOL.
I think the Rookie of the Week this week is between Moreno and Louis Murphy (Raiders WR). Two of the others just had an interception and a couple of tackles, and Harvin lost, which will deter voters (even if he had an impact). The Raiders WR had good stats, though- 4 rec 128 yds 2 td. Moreno is the only other candidate whose team won and who had really good stats in the game.
Yeah baylinor, Tebow is a winner, but lots of guys are winners (even though it IS a great characteristic to have) and get picked low. I just don’t think any cautious NFL team is going to put that much money into a first round pick that may take years to develop. But second or third round would be a good move.
Kudos over due for Clady! He should have made the Pro Bowl last year. I think he will be a lock for this year! He got beat in KC on one play but made up for it in his down field blocking. Orton needs to be more aware of the pocket timing. Needs to know when he can he get away with his double pumps and when to throw the ball away, he got picked when he pumped twice when he should have thrown the ball away vs. KC! I think Orton manages a game very well and sees what the defense is doing and calls the blocking schemes very well on what he sees. He is managing the O-Line very well.

When is the last time we beat the Colts? I don’t remember. Was it with Elway?
too long ago. WE ALWAYS GET AHEAD OF THE COLTS and then fail..They are like the chargers they just dont die lol
Ryan gone whose blocking Mathis this weekend?

Broncos 24 – Colts 21
Just read up last win for us was 2005.. I might be worng as I just quickly browsed 33-14
footballManiac: The last time we beat the Colts was either 2004 or 2005. It was the last game of the season and Colts rested their starters. We played the very next week in first round of playoffs and got slammed!
Was hoping they wouldn’t bring back Harris too soon… (foot injury).
Now we’ve lost him for the season….
RBF1 – Yeah now I remember that. The local TAB here in NZ had the Broncos as under dogs and they were paying something like $2.50 for the win, so I lumped $50 on it CHA-CHING!!!
BAYLIN
I’m going to go out on a limb and say we give the colts their 1st loss and we beat em by maybe 10 or more….here is my reason why..The colts offense is explosive but with our experienced secondary we can slow it down so our quick front seven can get to manning forcing him to throw on the run which he is not that good at…our run D can shut down addai he is not explosive and avg about 80 yards a game…forcing manning to be one dimentional he could be good for two ints…We pound the ball up the middle with knowshon and buckhalter and beat em on the ground…the colts have a young secondary..orton is a smart Qb so even if we have to thrown he can beat em all day especially wit the weapons we have…royal may get his 1st touchdown and mareno will score a td in dedication to Darrent Williams #27 (R.I.P) because manning picked on D-Will all game a couple seasons ago…i know you guys remember that….but with all the veterans on this team there is no reason we should not come away with a win plus we have mannings worst nightmare ty law….I am very confident in this team and the experienced leadership we have
21-33 BRONCOS!!!!!!!!
i’m down with you babychamp on your reasons..
I have confidence Goodman can hold up his end…RIP Darrent Williams….But Peyton is still Peyton, rarely does he flinch in the face of defenders when it comes to passing..and Wayne is a smart WR,,but we have a couple of the smartest CBs and DBs in the game….our biggest threat would be his no-huddles and audibles, which we got exploited on a few weeks back..a lot of hard work and preparation will be done this week.. I have confidence we’ll come out on top…have faith we’ll stop em’…
guys, I got you all down, love the enthusiasm, against a 12-0 team, who would of thunk it!
Let’s go out and beat the Colts. Orton will dominate. Let’s show the NFL what we’re made of by vanquishing an unbeaten squad. GO BRONCOS!!!
thanks broncos20 for the recogntion but u made a good point about the no huddle…I forgot to mention it…The no huddle can make us or break us…the D will have to be on point and ready to play…the communication has to be flawless cuz manning makes no mistakes…..
Hometeam007
I look forward to our fantasy playoff 1st round sudden death match…may the best coach/owner/man/team win….
Another point I wanna make…Even if we dont get to manning for a sack force him out the pocket because thats his comfort zone and make him throw on the run…that’ll be sweet..If we can do that then we can control every aspect of that game cuz manning is the biggest weapon on that team…ppl may say wayneand clarke are other threats but with a quaterback like peyton any reciever looks good….
In retrospect: So..Houston Texans..they played the Colts pretty well in the first half. Then in the second half….nothing. If the Texans put together another 30 mintues in the second half of what they did in the first half Indy could have their first loss. But they didn’t. So now its our turn, if we put together 60 mintues of good football, and execute in all 3 phases we can beat Indy. You know how everyone was down on us at the beggining of the season..and look how its turned out..well everyone is up on the Colts..so lets see how it turns out this weekend. Some people think Manning is a God..when in reality he isn’t. He throws a lot of TDs and brings his team back but he also thows a lot of INTs. So we need our O to score TDs, we need the D to get turnovers and score or let the O score, and we could use a couple of TD returns from Royal. They way we’ve been playin the last couple of games we can bring it to the Colts….we HAVE to bing it to them.
Go Broncos!!!!
brian, additionally to your Houston point, don’t forget that in their first game against the Colts they had a much more legitimate shot to win but they missed a short FG with no time left that would of tied the game. They are many different examples of why they could of been beaten this year by different teams, unfortunately, there has been only one constant of why they haven’t lost, Peyton Manning, of course I’m just stating the obvious, everyone knows that. BTW, the Colts HC job is the easiest coaching job in the NFL, you just let Manning handle it, LOL.
Congrats Mr. Clady.
Now do what got you the award and workout against Mr. Freeney!
All Ready!
I have a diehard Colts fan as a wife so this one is kinda tough for me. I think with the secondary problems the Colts have this year it should be easy for Orton to tear them up with passes to Marshall, Royal and even Gaffney. I think the keys to winning is protecting Orton and running the ball consistently (and not consistently bad!)
My prediction is:
Broncos 20
Colts 14
(Even if this means I have to sleep on the couch. LOL!)
On a side note…Marshall has back to back seasons of 100+ catches and 1000+ yards. Does anyone think he can get 3 in a row? right now he is at 65 catches and 808 yards…so he needs to average a little less than 9 catches a game for 48 yards a game?
I believe we have a shot this week, not a very blatant one, but one none the less, mainly because now the Colts are finding themselves just one win away from clinching the home field advantage throughout the playoffs. If the game doesn’t present itself as a fairly easy win, I think they will just play it close to the vest, not take any unnecessary risks, not wanting to sustain serious injuries, I mean, they are not gonna put it all out on the line. If they don’t win this one, they can get their home field advantage throughout in one of their last three games, at Jacksonville, against the Jets at home or at Buffalo, all doable, even so some will be fighting for their lives, maybe all, but the Jets might even be eliminated by then, and certainly Buffalo should. That looks like a good game for the Colts to clinch everything, at Buffalo, last game of the season, last rehearsal for the playoffs, a game no playoff team wants to lose.
And I don’t buy the Colts are under more pressure to win this game Sunday than we are, like someone posted here earlier, are you kidding me? We are still trying to win the division, all the Colts are under pressure for is basically a meaningless record, the longest winning streak in regular season, I don’t buy that being a major factor, same with the unbeaten season record, you know Manning rather lose at some point in the regular season to get it out of the way, just like we did. You better lose in the regular season, as the odds of winning the superbowl without a loss are 1 to whatever number superbowl last year was. And the Dolphins did it in a 14 game season, so it has just never been done in a 16 game season, ask the Pats how good it was to go undefeated all the way to the big dance. LOL.
Now that we lost that SD game at home we must win this one on the road to retain a valid shot at the division title, which last I heard is the first goal of the season, right? Wildcard is ok, but there is no glory in it unless you at least win the AFC championship, correct? I mean, if as a wildcard you lose in the first or second round of the playoffs, you were just a wildcard and no one will remember you, but if you are a division champion and lose the same way, you will always be a division champion for that year and everyone will remember it. That’s a major difference, and that is why the home SD game was a must win game and it’s a shame only Dawkins saw it that way and he waited for the following week to have the big talk with the team to straighten them out. I am still upset at McD, most of the team, and even some of the article writers here who all said that wasn’t a must win game, geeezzzzz… just because it mathematically wasn’t… . Only a division title will erase that debacle completely, an AFC title would go a long way into helping my healing and a superbowl win would totally cure me. LOL.
I totally agree baylinor. We are in must win mode the rest of the way first if we have any chance of winning the AFC West. Wouldn’t it be sweet if we returned the favor to SD after the fade the we had last year to have it be the Chargers that fade this year and we become AFC West champs? Yes if we hope to accomplish this, we do have a MUST win game coming up. I would rather host a wildcard game than have to go on the road, probably to NE and win one there. Hopefully we win the rest and SD loses two.
I agree, we are in “must win” mode. We COULD play it out maybe have a loss or two and still get as a wild card if some other teams continue to lose. In my opinion if you’re wishing for teams to lose so you can make the playoffs, you don’t deserve the playoffs to begin with. We need to take it for ourselves, we need to win every single game to ensure that we make post season play. Winning the division would be nice but honestly, SD is playin’ well right now and they have somewhat of slack schedule remaining…but you never know right.
Go Broncos!!!!
@ Baylin…..I know this is gonna sound crazy but here ya go:
Denver 34
Indy 24
GO GET EM’ BOYS!
Actually I think Indy score more like 17 but I’ll stick with my original
Denver 34
other team 24
GO GET EM’ BOYS!
the broncos will be tie with the bolt on monday when we beat the colt and the cowgirls beat the sd or bolt my score is den 24 colt 21
Congrats Ryan! You finally got what’s well deserved.
If we pass over Indy, then we’ll have a nice shot to win the AFC west. SD still has to play vs Dallas, and they’re in a “must win” mode now to get into playoffs (tied with Eagles 8-4 and just 1 game over NYG with tie-factors favoring NYG). Cowboys play at home and they’re healthier than SD. So, nice chance for a SD loss.
Then SD has to play vs Cincy, and IMO, if SD is still on top in the AFC west, the Bengals will be playing “must win” too for home field adv.
I know the first thing to do is your own job, so Denver must win first and let the world roll in its own way. But no one can deny it’d be nice if this week the Vikes beat Cincy, the Cowboys beat SD, and Miami beat Jaguars, too… then the Broncos at 9-4, tied with Cincy and SD, and with a 2 game cushion over the 2nd wildcard seed team (whichever it is), with 3 games left.
Go Broncooos!
@ baylin…. the reason i mentioned that indy was under more pressure than we are to win this only related to the undefeated season. if indy could care less, then its a moot point. denver doesnt HAVE to win this game, but if they do then that just makes our job that much easier for the last few games of the season. and personally i think we have a better chance of winning our last 4 games than the chargers. imo but we have all heard about the whole monkey on your back thing when teams are undefeated this late in the season. it adds another degree of pressure and add that to the fact that they are playing a good physical team in the broncos and im hopin it will just be too much for them! also, dont forget that the pats have sort of had the colts number over the last 5 yrs or so and guess what… we now have their old offensive mind as our head coach. hopefully something carries over from NE, some weakness or other, and we shock the colts!! just a thought.
Go Broncos
“DEFENSE WINS CHAMPIONSHIPS”
The ONLY way Denver beats Indy is if they get to Manning constantly (as in he can feel Dumervil breathing down his neck and hear it too, every play) and we have a steady offense keeping Indy off the field. They’ll need 2+ turnovers, too. Play solid, mistake-free football. And a couple of big plays on special teams would do wonders as well. To those who think that the Broncos will blow out Indy, it would be AWESOME, but it won’t happen. The Colts just don’t have bad days; they are too good. They come out with a winning mindset every game and will make every game a battle. I predict (if the Broncos manage to play perfectly) 24-21 Broncos. Otherwise (and I hate to say it, but more likely), Indy wins. I’m not trying to be down on the Broncos, but to expect them to beat Indy would be kind of unrealistic. The stupid Colts are just too good and too consistent.
