Clady, Bailey Recognized by USA Football

January 7th, 2013 - 10:07am by Tyler Everett

In addition to being named 2013 Pro Bowlers, tackle Ryan Clady and cornerback Champ Bailey have also been named to the 2012 USA Football All-Fundamentals Team.

Bailey and Clady are two of 26 players, including 11 apiece on offense and defense and four on special teams, who were named to the team for exhibiting exemplary technique that young can players can emulate.

This year’s team is the fourth annual group honored for using proper form and technique, particularly when blocking and tackling.

According to USA Football, “Bailey’s proper footwork helps him be one of the best pass defenders in the NFL. By remaining balanced as wide receivers come in and out of cuts, Bailey remains in position to play the ball in the air and either knock down the throw or come up with an interception.”

USA Football recognized Clady for his “hand placement with his elbows in to control defenders while not holding. His ability to handle pass rushers one-on-one allows his linemates to focus double teams elsewhere and keep the quarterback safe in the pocket.”

As part of the recognition, Clady and Bailey, as well as each of the other 24 players on the team, will receive a $1,500 equipment grant that they can donate to the youth or high school football program of their choice.

Both Clady and Bailey are also still eligible to receive an All-Fundamentals Team helmet trophy and an additional $1,500 to donate if they are named a team captain. Captains will be decided by a fan vote at facebook.com/usafootball. Fans will vote for three captains, one each for offense, defense and special teams, with voting open until Jan. 21.

I like how the Ravens get the early Saturday game and have to travel, after playing on Sunday. I’m curious to hear what, if anything, comes from Cladygate..

  7. RH709 says:

yeah, still no word on the “injury”.

Why Ponder missed his Playoff Game… Looks Painful

  9. BRONCOSONMINE says:

    GO BRONCOS

  10. 1nOnlyTRB says:

It was explained why its that way OT … but u do have a good point. Lucky for ravens they suffered no injuries. But since ATL is the Number 1 NFL team they play sunday. And since we the number one AFC team we play saturday. Or something like that.

We will need to watch out for Ravens two headed RB attack but overall im not worried. I believe our Defense will hold strong against an avg ravens O and manning and co will do what they always do. Loved Tebow but its been a dream having manning. To imagine the man i consider GOAT in a Broncos jersey leading us into the playoffs is like a dream. Always used to envy Indy. We only got Manning for maybe 3 years …. Gotta make it count. Starting this year!!! We are currently the most complete team, and as long as we keep playing with the confidence and comraderie that has been built over the past 2 years. We should be good.

AB,Turtle and all, Last year as (buck484) I weighed in early and often my wanting to draft Wolfe. This year I have a new player to push. I like the DT out of Georgia, John Jenkins. He has the size, 6’3 and 358 lbs. This answers the question, Where’s the beef, and he has the athletic ability to be another Dt along the lines of the Pats big man. Do you think he’ll be around when we pick or is he projected to go early?

  12. socalbigbroncofan says:

which baltimore players were missing from the first game we played them. just lewis and suggs. i feel confident we can walk away with a w. but i never believe in a blow out cause anything can happen in the nfl. we go in strong and play a full 60 minutes and ride that all the way to the afc championship. be loud denver fans. bring that thunder. we can do this. lets go BRONCOS.

  13. OTbroncos says:

On top of losing a day, the Ravens will also lose an additional 2 hours by traveling west. It might sound silly, but any less recovery time is a big deal, not to mention less preparation time. The Texans, by contrast, will be getting an extra day, plus one hour. Lol

  14. socalbigbroncofan says:

ot, thats great news on both sides. would love the texans to win in new england.

  15. RH709 says:

Too bad ‘ol Willis can’t be back to stomp his ex team.

  16. alaskanbronco06 says:

Wolfedom I like Jenkins a lot. However I think he will go middle of the 1st round to the Steelers. They have lost their inside size and could use a big guy like Jenkins to put at NT.

Im not worried about the Ravens run game much. I think it will be a tad better than last time since Yanda is coming back. However I still dont see them having the kind of day they did yesterday vs the bad Colts D.

  17. Bronco_Turtle says:

Hey Wolfe! We’ve talked about Jenkins a little earlier… he’s Quality and I’d be tickled to add him but I think he’s a top 20 pick and I don’t see us landing him without a trade up

  18. Bronco_Turtle says:

    haha… what up AB!

Who you got in tonights game… for me watching Alabama v Notre Dame is like watching KC v OAK… I have to cheer for KC/ALA by default

    ROLLLL TIIIIIIIDE!!!!

  19. wolfedom says:

The way I see it beside a ml the big guy,run stopper, is our biggest need. If it takes trading up then I think we consider it.

  20. alaskanbronco06 says:

BT I am with you on that. It is like rooting for KC/Chokeland. I will probably root for Bama thugh it wil be very hard for me to do so. I was hoping Georgia would have beaten them to make it. Oh well. I will be watching the DT from Bama Jesse Williams.

I wouldnt mind trading up to get Jenkins but the cost may be high for my liking. I think we could get a good quality DT at 32 who can do what Jenkins does but just isnt as big.

Gotta say I am not surprised Chip Kelly stayed at Oregon. When it came down to Philly or stayed I thought he would stay since who Eagles have dont fit his style imo.

  21. OTbroncos says:

WR; Gerell Robinson was signed to a future contract today.

  22. RH709 says:

Tough crowd. I’m a ND guy.

  23. alaskanbronco06 says:

Yea OT. I had a feeling Denver was going to do something with him. He tweeted last night how he was coming back to Denver and had a meeting with Coach

  24. RH709 says:

AB, word is Phil Knight of Nike chipped in a made Kelly an offer he couldn’t refuse.

  25. OTbroncos says:

He’s a big target at 6’4″; 222 lbs. I hope he sticks, and we eventually see that Osweiler to Robinson connection down the road.

  26. OTbroncos says:

What do you guys thnk about Tyler Eifert? I’ll be watching him (among others) tonight.

  27. alaskanbronco06 says:

    RH yea heard that yesterday.

OT I was veru high on Robinson in preseason and had him making the PS if not the 53 man roster.

As for Eifert, I like him but dont like the idea of taking a TE in the 1st I also think someone who needs a TE will take him before us.

36 players with playoff experience. Many of them know not to overlook games and stay focused on the game in front of them.

  29. RH709 says:

BT, did you mean to link back to your previous comment?

    rOLL TIde !!!

  31. RH709 says:

    Go Irish!

  32. Broncos20 says:

wow I am a Bama fan..but this will a tough game.. i have tons of respect for Teo and his play… this will be a great game today!!!

For our upcoming game! we have the homefield advantage… this will be a great experience for whoever will watch the game. the greatest MLB of the decade playing hopefully his last NFL game ^_^ …. Our Defense isnt ranked #2 overall for no reason.. we will prevail!! (feeling a lil Ray Lewis-ish) ahah

As for the draft, Id get the best MLB available or the pass-rushing DE available.. I know Teo will be out way before us. So its either Ogletree (Georgia), Minter (LSU), or Arthur Brown (Kansas State)….
I am picking a MLB because i believe in shifting Wolfe back to his natural DT position…
next 3 important positions in any order
    -DE (Damontre Moore)
    -TE (Eifert)
    -Safety (Tony jefferson)

  33. DaddyBronc says:

Just wondering…Does anyone, other than Cat, feel that a distinction or explanation is needed in defense of Ray Lewis?

  34. alaskanbronco06 says:

    Broncos20

I like those LBs. (Minter being my favorite now) but for a DE not a big fan of Moore. Nor am I a fan of Jefferson. Part of that is I dont think we need a safety.

  35. strandoftds82 says:

    GO ALABAMA!!

  36. alaskanbronco06 says:

    Howdy Strand! How goes it?

  37. DaddyBronc says:

Hey Strand! Now we are on the same page!!!

  38. strandoftds82 says:

I’ll be keeping a watchful eye on MLB Manti Teo. Gotta love that guy. I can’t stand ND but I appriciate certain players for obvious reasons. Manti is a STUD!!

  39. DaddyBronc says:

All my in-laws, out-laws, and cousins from Georgia and Abalama are all nervous.

    ***** OFFICIAL SCORE PREDICTION ****
    Broncos 31
    Ravens 20

BTW: Ray Lewis wasn’t charged with mueder, rather for refusing to tell what he saw even though he witnessed trhe murder. Still inexcuable!!!

    ALL HAIL THE NECK!!!!!!

    DON’T WRECK THE NECK!!!!!!!

  44. RH709 says:

    #7 Are the Broncos Overrated…

    http://espn.go.com/nfl/playoffs/2012/story/_/id/8818904/nfl-playoffs-broncos-patriots-ravens-texans-set-tangle-divisional-round

Why are we portrayed like that in the media. NE is like a media darling and everyone thinks Denver is overrated!?! Ha

  45. DaddyBronc says:

Ray wasn’t charged for not speaking what he witnessed…Ray was charged with obstructing justice because he told his friends to “keep their mouths shut”.

Which…BTW…is always good advice when you are arrested whether guilty or not.

It is childish naivete’ to think that the system is designed to acquit the innocent. Police are rewarded for ‘good busts’ and whether or not they can make the charges stick.

The comparison between OJ and Lewis are vast. Lewis was charged with, and convicted of a misdemeanor. OJ did in fact get away with murder…on a technicality…allowed by a coward behind the bench – because he didn’t wish to cause another LA riot.

  46. Broncos20 says:

AB..yeah Minter is very solid all-around, i’d be happy with him or Ogeltree.

I just threw in those other names for their increasing stocks…

  47. Broncos20 says:

    RH:

We gotta love those haters!! ahaa.. persistent chumps always find excuses… They forget we have one of the Best OL in the league.. Ed Reed better be prepared to get hurdled again..
