DenverBroncos.com caught up with defensive lineman Robert Ayers after he finished his workout on Tuesday.
Here’s what he had to say about his 2012 offseason thus far:
On his offseason
“I’ve been here for the most part working out. I’ve traveled a couple places, but for the most part I’ve been here.”
On his travels
“I went to a few places – Jamaica, went to New York for a little bit. Nothing major, but went to a few places.”
On getting back to working out in a team setting
“It’s cool. I like being around the team and starting to learn and work as a unit and starting to get on the same page and working hard. That’s the best part about playing football is being around a team and working out together and getting to have that bond and friendship with one another.”
On the Broncos drafting an interior defensive lineman with their first draft pick
“He’s definitely a very good player and he fits our mold – just from what I’ve watched of him. He seems like he has the type of attitude that we look to have on defense and I think he’ll fit right in.”
On whether the Peyton Manning signing excites him as a defensive player
“Oh definitely. When you know you have a quarterback like that who can put up points and always be consistent and be able to keep you off the field, that’s a great feeling as a defensive player.”

Thanks OT – much appreciated.
Are you anxious to start practicing against Peyton Manning?
“Oh yeah, I can’t wait to pick him off (laughs). I’m kidding — he’s only going to make us better. We know he’s a first-ballot Hall of Famer, and he’s going to make us better. Us as a defense, we’re looking forward to that. When we face other teams, going against Peyton every day in practice, it helps. It can slow the game down and make things a lot easier.”
So true!!!! (from the Q&A with Mike Adams) Manning is going to prepare the D for opposing offense with keeping a high tempo practice and showing them what the better QBs are going to see and do which will show them what to fix!
I’d like to see Sealver Siliga make a push, but if not Franklin might workout.
ab – by chance would you remember where Moreno was rated in 2009 draft.. 2nd or 3rd round?
RBF1 Moreno was rated as the #1 RB in the draft actually and projected to go top 20. People seem to forget that with his performance though.
Ok thanks ab… for some reason I was thinking he was a reach at #12 selection but obviously not. Thanks for clearing that up for me ab. Short term memory not as good anymore…lol.
ab, OT, kod, strand – you guys have a great day !!
Peace out Bronco Brothers !!!
rbf1
Peace out RBF1 Have a great Bday.
Happy B-Day Rbf1!!!!!!!!
I hope you have a wonderful day my friend!!!!
AB is correct, he was the top RB and a top 20 selection. Peoples real issue is we got him when we didn’t need him. When we needed defense, and he ended up stinking. If we got him when we really didn’t need him and he succeeded we would be happy. If we got him when we needed him and he failed … we would just chuck it up to bad scouting or draft crap chute but because we aint need him, got him, he bust and other defenders became pro bowlers that we needed. The dislike for him is even deeper. Even tho he was drafted into a run scheme that didn’t suit him and there are many reasons for why he didn’t succeed. He will never live up to 12th overall selection (much like bush and the 2nd overall selection) but all i want from him is a solid contributor like Bush has found a way to be.
Happy Birthday RBF1.
Later days, TRB.
Exactly TRB. We didnt need him. I hate that we didnt grab Orakpo or Cushing then. Uh oh well. Hopefully he can become a contributor.
Since TRB mentioned Bush I want to say how funny it is that the Texans went Williams over Bush and Casserly (the GM at the time) was boo’d and hated for it. Guess Texan fans realized they made the right choice LOL
RBF1 – man I had you figured for one of the kids on the blog and here you are ‘older-than-Daddy’ LOL
Have a great day!!! and a Happy one!!!
If he can contribute this season, I can forgive. Winning soothes everything. Just like watching TT last season………it was so ugly at times I would almost throw up in my mouth……..lol But we won the games so it made it taste a little better! LMAO!
Wow RBF1 is 51. Defintiely thought he was in his early to late 30s lol. I guess because of how young I am I imagine people closer to my age lol.
PS: Saw avengers in IMAX 3D … AMAZING

Man slays Mountain lion to save his dog. Do you notice the hate? Takes a Broncos fan to slay a lion lmao
TRB
Royal, enjoy the movie with your son, I hear that its a great movie too.
Young at heart daddy, young at heart…lol.
I remember making a connection with you & Lancaster Ca, when I mentioned I was stationed at Edward AFB many years ago….lol!!
Thanks for the warm wishes daddy!
Thank you my friends.. O_C and TRB
Now it’s off the see the Avengers!!
Man a freaking frying pan!!!!
Blake and Big Brock have landed in Denver getting ready for the Rookie camp.
Big Brock, I like the sound of that!
Hopefully he’ll one day earn the title BAD A$$ BROCK!
You know the broncos are slow posting new blogs when you get hundreds of responses for each one.
Ok. I like the way the new blog is set up.
However, when comments surpass 250, is causes safari to crash on my mobile device. This I do not like. I was able to track comments this morning. After reloading the page a time or two. Even this morning. Last I checked, comments were at 323. And while Safari was still crashing, I was able to reload the page and still track comments. Now the number has rose to 368 and it has crashed 10 consecutive times with no successful load. So disappointing. I never had a problem with the old format. And that was a reason I am able to actively participate on the blog. I certainly hope this problem is fixed…
Happy B-day RFB1,my Bronco Bro,have a great day!
DB,I’ve killed several whitetail deer with the 25-06,it isn’t a kid or womans gun bro,it has long range capability,I killed a deer at 350 yards with it,using 117 grain bullets, maybe your not hitting them in the right spot,it’s not the gun,it’s the shot,Heck I’ve seen people kill plenty of deer with a .22 rifle,I do know the 30-06 has more knockdown power, but I do however love the 25-06,I do know guns, btw mine is a Savage!
B.F.E.
BTW,not arguing,but stating my opinion,of course,lol.
sndvl….Gray Caldwell’s email is Gray.Caldwell@broncos.nfl.net,maybe he can answer some questions for you bro!
GOOD LUCK!
B.F.E.
B F E – I didn’t call it a woman’s gun to be insulting – I didn’t mean that, as a 25.06 has plenty of kick (Mine was one of those Savage 110 package deals as well / I love Savage) – more than the .243 or at least similar. I also have taken deer using a .22 no problem. I understand what you are saying. I was just comparing the two as you had said they were the same and I see the uses of the two calibers as being vastly different.
Frequently I need to take a long shot in an area where I have followed an animal waiting until it gets to a spot from which I can get the animal out of the field. I then need the animal to drop where shot. I can’t afford to be following a blood trail down a 2500 ft. ravine or something after spending a day pushing the animal out of the ravine. Neck and quartering shots through the shoulder give you this. 25.06 is fine for any neck shot and I imagine it is adequate to take an elk. Not the shoulder shot though. I had a nice pronghorn run away and left me trailing for three days before the vultures found it for me. The 25.06 punched a surgical hole through the shoulder blade and expanded through the lungs behind it unfortunately just missing the heart and the major arteries near it. I sold my 25.06 on a whim – cuz I was mad. LOL
I know the 25.06 is a great gun and I regret having sold it. I will likely get another after I get my .308 / .300 Whetherby / .375 H&H / …etc. LOL
B.F.E. Daddy, hows it going? The Denver Broncos Rule 2012!!!!!
Slow blogisphere – Hey Strand.
ILMSDB!!!
Is it September yet?
Strand – do you hunt? or are you just an old rocker? LOL
I have this thought that maybe a few of us could meet at BT’s for deer or elk hunting, one of these years. Don’t know but it would be fun.
Nah, I don`t hunt. I can`t get past the blood thing. I prefer fishing, hiking, and camping.
And old rocker, so true!
GUYS….we signed ex-bills corner Drayton Florence!!! Great signing!!!
Here is the report on twitter per Jay Glazer!

Freak, whats up bro?!
Breaking news: T.B. DE Da`qaun Bowers tears his achilles in practice today.
Great signing bro!
Looks like it’s time for a new blog
The Broncos sure like the older CB’s.
I think Porter is like 26,so all of them are not old!
Glad we signed Florence,we need all the help at CB we can get, imo.
DB,sounds like you need a .308 or a 300 mag,I want one too,but can’t afford it right now,but will keep my 25-06,because of the great accuracy it has.
Hey strand,what’s up my bro?
B.F.E.
For how much? He had two years left on his contract and was scheduled to make a base salary of $4 million this season.
ah He was released, by The Bills on Friday.
Fantastic article. Good in-depth and insightful article looking at our FO moves and every draft pick.

Welcome to the Broncos Drayton Florence!!! This is a good addition IMO. There is no such thing as too many good CB’s….
Darrius Heyward-Bey was charged with DUI Thursday following an arrest last month on the Bay Bridge.
Faiders… Al Davis was awesome!
alex4serg…. That was a good article!! I don’t understand the binary language of moisture vaporizers either LOL…
Florence was cut due to monies. He can still play, he`s a gamer.
I already have a .300 Win Mag. I want the Weatherby. Once you get over .30 caliber and 180 grains, the bullet starts tumbling out beyond 350 yards – so you are right about flat shooting and the accuracy of the smaller calibers.
Gotta go read up on florence…
Xanders: Im a people person, I talk to the people so the engineers don’t have too…….I’m aPeople Person! LOL Thnx for the link alex4serg
Im listening right now to 850 KOA and both Dave Logan and Dave Kreiger like the Florence signing and said its a good move. Cool for me if Mr. Logan like him.
I like his size, with tight ends and receivers getting bigger. His experience should help a lot.
So Florence played for Jack Del Rio in Jax ahile back, nice to know. Florence is 6’0″ 193 lbs and has been in the NFL 10 years. The more I hear about Drayton the more I like him.
Monodono, Hows the weather in your neck of the woods bro?
Your in Steamboat Springs, correct?
Yuuup! The Weather is awesome! I just moved back into the downtown area right accross the street from The Yampa River.
