Chargers Pad Lead on Pick-Six

October 15th, 2012 - 7:47pm by Tyler Everett

San Diego now leads 17-0 after the teams exchanged interceptions, with Chargers cornerback Quentin Jammer returning his pick 80 yards for a touchdown.

The Chargers looked to be driving after a 12-yard completion from quarterback Philip Rivers to tight end Antonio Gates was followed by a 15-yard penalty on Broncos safety Mike Adams to move the Chargers to their 44-yard line.

But on the following play, safety Jim Leonhard made a leaping interception to pull the ball away from San Diego tight end Antonio Gates, and Denver took over on its own 5-yard line.

The Broncos moved down the field on a 15-yard completion from quarterback Peyton Manning to running back Willis McGahee and a 55-yard pass to wide receiver Eric Decker, who was wide open behind the defense.

But the drive ended three plays later when Manning’s pass to the right flat was picked off by Jammer after miscommunication between the quarterback and wide receiver Matthew Willis.

poorly coached team. How does a WR trip over his own feet? Way way to many fumbles. Defense is confused and out of possition. No draft picks are making any impacts. SD will run away with the division again

I have to agree with tnalen66. I’m so down watching this game. I thought that this season would be better than the past couple of years. I think that the coaching of the defense SUCKS!!!! We are always getting burned on the passing game. The offense is embarrassing! I don’t know who is calling the plays on the offense but I hope that they go to the air and stop messing around.
