This Sunday, Denver will travel to Green Bay to tussle with the defending Super Bowl champions in the Green Bay Packers. Green Bay edged out Pittsburgh 31-25 in Super Bowl XLV, played this past February in Dallas.
The upcoming matchup will be mark the 26th time in team history that the Broncos will play the previous season’s Super Bowl champion.
In Denver’s previous 25 matchups against defending Super Bowl champions, the club has recorded a 15-10 (.600) overall record.
The Broncos are one of just two NFL teams to post a winning record against defending Super Bowl champs.
One of those victories against defending Super Bowl champions came when the Broncos beat the Packers in Super Bowl XXXII.

Awesome pic!
Ditto what brian said! Those were the days, huh?
When we drafter Moreno, I envisioned him looking like TD, however sadly he’s been more like the guy who faceplanted.
LOL! Sad, but true.
On the Lloyd topic, I still wish we would have traded him for a good DT, it’s look like I feared. Lloyd might be a one year wonder, and will be worth nothing in a trade soon. Also I believe we only called short passes because of Ortons inability to run, and with the front line that the Titans had they did not want Orton in the pocket too long therefore using short pass plays.
Only way we win is if Green Bay totally under estimates us. Its really hard to envision Kyle “Ortonary” doing anything against that defense.
Prediction 34-9, Packers
You guys have no faith in our defense to think green bay will score 34pts. Do you guys really think carolyna is better then we are? They lost that game by 3, lot of people on here thought tennesee would score mid 30s what happened to that. Our D is much improved this yr hopefully you can see that. My predition 17 14 we win our second game, were really not all that bad guys.
15-10 huh? Nice stat. I’m impressed. Whoa the other team?
Henryac, where did Tom Brady cone in? He may not have had the all-pros like you mentioned. But he had all players. And a head coach who knew how to maximize their talents. Including his o-line.
And haven’t we always had NE’s number. I can only think of 2 losses against them in the last 10-15 years!!!!
And in response to your response baylin, if that’s the case then our team has way more problems than this QQ…
I have to agree with millertime. Our D is greatly improved, and we should have Doom back along with DJ. DJ, Joe Mays, and Von Miller what a great group of line backers.
I dont understand the talk about Lloyd being a one year wonder. You arent a one year wonder if you dont get thrown the ball. Lloyd is just as good as last year, the D is just keying on him more. They need to run some plays that will open it up for him.
I am surprised that there is 8 comments on here and not one of them are calling for Tebow. On this site before the 2010 draft i ripped Tebow and said how i knew we were going to draft him, but wish we wouldnt. I still stand by that, but at the same time i think we need to put him in see what we have. It is pretty much a done deal that we arent keeping Orton after this year, If Tebow can be a Starting QB in this league we need to know soon.
Rodgers could pick us apart if Bailey doesn’t play. Dalton (a rookie) Hasselbeck (a decent veteran) tore our pass defense apart. Rodgers is better than those two so the Packers putting up 30+ points wouldn’t be that far of a stretch.
I just hope it doesn’t turn into a shootout…
Looks like Doom Champ and even Marcus Thomas are back at Practice. Doom practiced last week so I expect him to go this week. Champ might not but I think he will … Marcus Thomas is a toss up.
Well, Because I never pick the Broncos to lose …
Broncos 27 – Packers 23
Might not win but I doubt i’ll make the wall of shame either lol. TRB
i agree millertime i believe were gonna win every week isnt that why we call are selves bronco FANS not bronco doubters. our D is gonna cut the cheese help beat the pack and shut up the haterz/doubters.then all the experts and annylysts on espn and nfl network will talk about how the packers had a bad day and forget to mention anything about us or how we whooped that ass.

BRONCOS 6
Former #Broncos WR Rod Smith (@TheREALrodSmith) named a first-year eligible nominee for the Pro Football Hall of Fame.
Millertiem, actually the Panthers lost by 7 …. 30 – 23 … but I agree … I have the broncos winning every week. And I believe we are much improved on D too. If we are able to have doom and champ back … we might finally see batman and robin at work agaisnt a team that lives and dies by the pass. And minus week 1 … we have done good against the run … Maybe we should just give credit where credit is due … raiders are a strong running team … they gashed the Jets more than they gashed us … and if we didn’t have so many turnovers … they wouldn’t have been out there as much. The problem is our offense and as pathetic as it may sound … at this point or as of week 2 … Cam Newton had been playing better than Orton … Still is IMO … so the level of QB play is not the same. And that may not be on Orton, not saying Cam is better than Orton even tho he might be, the fact is Cam is currently playing at a higher level and that might be credit to his offensive coordinator but he hasn’t had much of a running offense either …. not unless u count his scrambling … dual threat QBs win 8 times out of 10. Thats why they need to put Tebow in the game. TRB
Other former #Broncos eligible this year include: S Steve Atwater, LB Karl Mecklenburg, RB @Terrell_Davis & HC Dan Reeves.
We are not as bad as some of you think, the raiders and titans are greatly improved, look what the titans did to the ravens and what the raiders did to the jets.
Plus we should have a lot of playmakers back this week. I cant go against my own team.
20-17 OT Broncos.
I think this will be a close game if Tebow goes in in the red zone to cause a little confusion even if its not at qb position .yeah so irratating how they only bring up the bad the broncos do and never say anything positive towards the team always talking about crybaby vick and super model brady not to mention every little thing cam does which is stupid someone needs to let cam know he is supposed to stay in the pocket this is the nfl not collage pocket passing like they are forcing tebow to do!!bunch of b.s if you ask me!!!
Question for u bronco bros. I have mcgahee and starks fo my other rb. Who do I start?
Yeah tell Cam,Vick, and McNabb that this is a passer pocket league,no running QBs here!!….it won’t work they’ll get killed….oh wait they’ve been doing it for years….OH MY!!!!!!!!!
I wonder what wrinkles the Broncos are going to add to our offense this week? Just kidding, the only wrinkles you’ll see from FOX is the ones on his face. Maybe we can try some more screens? Scratch that… Too many batted balls.. Play action? naw, defenses are already daring him to throw… Bootleg/roll-outs? Opps sorry for even saying that… All you can expect is for management to LIE and say Tebow is not ready… Again my stat of the week: The Orton led offense has scored 23 or more points only 11 times out of 33 games.. Tebow led offense went 3 for 3.. 23 against Oakland (remember how Orton did against oakland AT HOME… Do you remember Tebow’s game was played in a MUDBOWL on the road).. 24 against Houston (tebow’s second half comeback set a team record)… 28 against the number one defense in the NFL (remember how good olde Orton did against them).. Oh yeah, he is not ready to start… I hope management enjoys watching Dom Capers crush Orton on Sunday. My 7 yr old son could draw up a gameplan for Orton. I hope losing respect, credibility, and honor is worth the 11 million you’re saving from not playing TEBOW.. I long for week 9 or 10.. OR will FOX prove to be like McD who made a point of trading P. hillis rather than admit that he made a mistake on his ability. If you can not admit when you’ve made a mistake, then you do not need to be the coach of this mighty franchise. Karma has a way of biting you. Hey FOX didn’t you learn your lesson in Carolina.. My bad, I forgot that you cannot teach an OLD DOG new tricks.
Fans are gunna have to offer to pay Tebows salary instead of billboard to get him to play!!!lol
I’m sure several fans would donate to the play Tebow fund!
I think fox will have a couple of packages for Tebow this week, They need to open up the playbook thats all their is to it. I truely think that Mcoy is gone after the yr, since Fox really dont know anything about calling the offensive plays, and if he has a say in what is going on now he needs to mind his own business LOL. This offense is so vanilla rt now its pathetic to say the least, but whats funny is that Mcoy was calling the plays last yr and we had alot more success dont figure.
That’s because when Studs took over as interim he had McCoy do the play calling. On TT 1st game as starter they held the reins back but on the second turned him loose some with some creative plays.
Just out in the Bleacher Report…
The Denver Broncos have fallen in ESPN’s NFL Power Rankings.
This week they slide to 26th—two spots down from where they stood after Week 2.
We will hover around the low end of the power rankings all season as long as the win pct stays at .333 to .500, and our O continues to not be able to score more than 20 a game.
Von Miller, Broncos LB (first round, No. 2)
Miller is the best rookie in the NFL right now, and the competition isn’t even close. He continued to shine last week against the Titans.
Still ranked #1 rookie. Outstanding Von! Keep up the good work. Here is one of several high spots for us.
That is per ESPN by the way.
Rod Smith, the Broncos’ career receiving leader, is among 103 players/coaches/contributors — and five Broncos — on the preliminary eligibility list for joining the 2012 class in the Pro Football Hall of Fame.
Five Broncos on preliminary 2012 Hall of Fame list
By Lindsay Jones
This is Smith’s first time on the list. Smith, who holds all of the Broncos main receiving records, also holds NFL records for receiving milestones for an undrafted player.
Other Broncos eligible are running back Terrell Davis, linebacker Karl Mecklenberg, safety Steve Atwater and coach Dan Reeves.
Davis, a 2000-yard rusher, league has made the final 25 several times but has yet to be a finalist.
Champ Bailey among players back on field for Broncos today
By Lindsay H. Jones
The Denver Post
The Broncos had their three best defensive players on the field together this morning in the first day of preparations for Sunday’s game at defending Super Bowl champion Green Bay.
“You feel a little more comfortable in the fight when you have all your troops with you,” Broncos coach John Fox said after practice. “They were a welcome addition, for sure.”
Cornerback Champ Bailey, defensive end Elvis Dumervil, linebacker D.J. Williams along with defensive tackle Marcus Thomas were on the field for the start of practice.
Williams (elbow) and Thomas (pectoral, then groin) have yet to play a game this season, and Bailey (hamstring) and Dumervil (shoulder) have missed the past two games.
The team is hoping all four will be available for Sunday’s game, though those decisions won’t be made until closer to game time, after coaches and trainers see how their injuries hold up after several days of practice.
The only three players who remain out for the Broncos are receivers Eddie Royal (groin) and Demaryius Thomas (finger) and tight end Julius Thomas (ankle). None of the three will play against the Packers.
Meanwhile, Fox said he is looking forward to playing again at Lambeau Field.
“It’s got tremendous aura. We won the last time I was there, in a snowstorm, so those are my recent memories,” he said.
“I can remember the Ice Bowl game and Bart Starr doing the quarterback sneak. I’m aging or dating myself some, but I remember watching that. It was one of my first recollections of organized sport on television. So it will always hold a special place for me.”

QB Kyle Orton continues to fizzle in fourth-quarter situations when trailing. A study by MaxDenver.com revealed that during the last two years, on possessions that began inside 10 minutes left in the fourth quarter and with Denver trailing by eight points or less, the Broncos have scored just once. Orton carries a 46.2 QB rating in such scenarios.

The Tom Brady point is that good QB’s find a way no matter who is around them. They hold up their end even if they don’t have top level talent at all positions. And more to the point, they make everyone around them better than they would be under other circumstances.
I will agree wholeheartedly on one of your points, NE has a coach who is not so married to his “style” that he can’t adapt to the talent he ends up with. He doesn’t try and fit square pegs in round holes. When you get totally convinced that only your style will work and you don’t have the players for it, you are up a creek. There is always more than one way to make it to the top of the mountain if you look, adapt and improvise. Thinking your way is the best way is fine, thinking it is the only way is a mistake!
The thing about Orton for all the Ortinites out there is that coming in to this season he had a chance to prove he is the uncontested starter and while he showed it in camp he has yet to show it in game time. He could have came out like Tom Brady, or Ryan Fitzpatrick and then there would be no blame coming down on him. But he came out and has not played well at all having atleast one turnover in each game.
GB-27 Den-17. I’m doubting this game will be held within 3 points unless our offense proves otherwise.
Tell Matt Hasselback to stop crying, they won the game , and barking out calls and snaps by defense has been going on since day 1.
1 more thing, let Walter Payton RIP please.
Game went just as i had thought it would , low scoring and Tenn would win by a few, great 2 see the passion and the want to by the defense this past week. As for Horton , please dont be afraid to try and make 1 play to win a game, all i ask is try to make 1 play that counts in the 4th quarter for once
Balauga and Grant probably out Sunday and maybe more players out for the Packers:

On the front page of this website there is a pic of Orton wearing, no not a Bronco cap, a “ship sticks” cap, a golf company that ships golf clubs, obviously that’s how Orton pads his 9 mil income, good for him, not so hot looking for the Broncos. I wonder if they ship golfers too?
Anyone know if Orton cracks under pressure on the 18th hole in golf? I mean if you do it in one sport, you probably do it in others.
I don’t care how much we have improved on defense, as long as Orton is at QB we will not win. If we do happen to win it sure won’t be because of Orton. Our run defense has improved alot from the last 2 yrs., but our pass defense has gotten worse. We can’t just depend on one guy. The one time that we tipped the ball at the line of scrimmage not one of defense backs knew where the ball was. It was a good chance for an Int. By the way they completed the pass. For all you guys who pick the Broncos to win, stop dreaming & come back down to earth & get real. We just don’t have the team to compete with the better teams, not yet anyway. Maybe in acouple of years after Orton is gone.
34-20 Greenby. 7 of the Broncos points come from the D. This game will not be as close as the final score shows.
Goodnight now.
Hoping for some Tebow spark sometime soon.
