Cardinals Lead 10-0

August 30th, 2012 - 11:11pm by Gray Caldwell

Late in the third quarter, the Broncos were marching their way toward the end zone, but a turnover swung momentum back in Arizona’s favor.

Quarterback Brock Osweiler drove the offense to the Arizona 26-yard line, where the Broncos faced a third-and-8.

Osweiler fired a pass intended for wide receiver Greg Orton, but cornerback Crezdon Butler jumped in front for the interception. He returned it 20 yards to the 35-yard line.

On Arizona’s first play of the drive, quarterback Richard Bartel hit wide receiver Isaiah Williams for a 52-yard gain down the middle of the field at 13-yard line.

But the defense held strong.

Linebacker Danny Trevathan had a tackle in the backfield for a 2-yard loss, and defensive tackle Sealver Siliga sacked Bartel for a loss of 3 yards on the next play. Bartel was injured on the play, and quarterback Ryan Lindley re-entered the game.

On third down, defensive lineman Jamie Blatnick broke up a screen pass attempt, forcing a field goal.

After a delay-of-game penalty, Cardinals kicker Jay Feely made a 41-yard field goal, his first make of the night. He missed two earlier.

Arizona leads 10-0.
