The captains for the Broncos this afternoon are defensive tackle Justin Bannan, wide receivers Demaryius Thomas and Matthew Willis, cornerback Tracy Porter, safety David Bruton and center J.D. Walton.
The 49ers chose heads, won the toss, and chose to defer. The Broncos offense takes the field with the following starters:
On the offensive line, from left to right: Ryan Clady, Zane Beadles, J.D. Walton, Manny Ramirez, and Orlando Franklin. Demaryius Thomas and Eric Decker are the starting wide receivers with Joel Dreessen and Jacob Tamme as the tight ends. Peyton Manning is the starting quarterback and Willis McGahee is the starting running back.
Following the field goal, the defense comes out on the field. Elvis Dumervil and Derek Wolfe start at the ends with Ty Warren and Justin Bannan in the middle. Wesley Woodyard, Joe Mays, and Von Miller are the starting linebackers. In the secondary, Rahim Moore and Mike Adams are the safeties with Champ Bailey and Tracy Porter at the corners.
