Caldwell, Woodyard & Ramirez On Board

March 22nd, 2012 - 7:54am by Gray Caldwell

The Broncos added another free agent on Wednesday — wide receiver Andre Caldwell.

The 6-foot, 190-pound receiver has played in 51 games — including 14 starts — in his career with the Cincinnati Bengals.

Entering his fifth NFL season, Caldwell has totaled 124 receptions for 1,172 yards and six touchdowns. A third-round pick by the Bengals in the 2008 NFL Draft from the University of Florida, he left the Gators as the school’s all-time leader in receptions.

His older brother, Reche, was a wide receiver for Washington (2007), New England (2006) and San Diego (2002-05).

In addition, the team agreed to terms with free agent linebacker Wesley Woodyard and re-signed guard Manny Ramirez earlier this week.

In 2011, Woodyard was second on the team in defensive tackles, in addition to leading the club in special teams stops for the third time in his four seasons in Denver.

Woodyard has served as a team captain for the past three seasons, and for his Broncos career has accumulated 202 tackles, one sack, one interception, five pass breakups and three forced fumbles. He has started 16 games and played in 58.

Ramirez started 15 of 18 games played in his first four NFL seasons with the Detroit Lions, playing in a career-high 13 games for the Lions in 2008. That season, he was penalized just three times while allowing just a half-sack, according to Stats Inc.

The guard originally signed with the Broncos as a free agent on Jan. 4, 2011.

So now that Tebow is a Jet, who’s gonna vote for him to be Madden Cover 13?!

I really hope we don’t pick up Addai…it looks like we may be in the position to draft the “best player available” at 25, regardless of position. Remember, Elway did say last year they are looking for starters in the draft…
    I’m certain that philosophy remains!

    Broncos Country Strong 2012!

Going to miss Tebow and really think he could of lead us to a few rings but with the signing of manning just means that we get a chance to get one faster. But it is nice to see that more offensive players want to come to denver now.

I saw someone say earlier that braylon edwards is available? I think hes worth a shot, he has the talent, and I think we have good veteran leadership to make it show

Good to see some more signings. Woodyard has definately earned another go with the Broncos. He has been a great special teams player for a few years now and has filled in nicely as LB on passing downs.

Has anyone heard anything else about Porter?? Or maby even Trufant??
